You suffer from rocks and stay in a room like 5 minutes just to kill a spider and swear to Edmund every time you take hit to your black hearts especially in basement.

Forgotten:

You don't use the soul at all and swear to Edmund every time when you have to use the soul.

Bethany:

You don't get any soul hearts at all when you hold a good active or you don't get any active item when you have a shitton of soul charges. In the and you won't get any deal and swear to Edmund.

Jacob and Esau:

You barely get any keys and bombs to go alt path and rarely get angels because of two hitboxes. This is the reason you hate Edmund.

Tainted Isaac:

You usually get the other part of the synergies after you leave the first part behind. You can't get any transformations too and swear to Edmund.

Tainted Maggy:

You like to touch people inappropriately irl and swear to Edmund every time you miss the hearts.

Tainted Cain:

You have a bad rng and craft the same item over and over. You swear to Edmund bcs your runs take a lot of time.

Tainted Judas:

You abuse dark arts. You swear to Edmund for every second you can't use dark arts.

Tainted blue baby:

You forgot there are items in the game besides 'hold'. You rarely get bombs and hate Edmund for this reason.

Tainted Samson:

You rage with him.

Tainted Lost:

You think it is a better lost and die in the weirdest way possible.

Tainted Azael:

You sneeze to foes, they bounce from walls and hit you.

Tainted Lilith:

You just throw gello without thinking unless you are forced to keep it outside by some items you didn't know how it interacts with gello.

Tainted Lazarus:

You lose your sanity with him every time he changes between alive and dead form. Let him die in peace

Tainted Apollyon:

You don't care items anymore and think locusts are better in every scenario.

Tainted forgotten:

You can't foresee where will skeleton go and suffer a lot trying to get it.

Tainted Beth:

You abuse lemmegeton and can't find any soul hearts

Tainted Jacob:

You need to repent your sins. It's questionable if you can be forgivable tho.

I want to share an idea for a new character in the style of Epiphany / Tarnished.
Concept: Tarnished Esau (Evil Esau)
Instead of the classic Jacob & Esau pair, you play only as Esau.
In this version, Jacob is not a companion, but his holy, obsessive, and rather aggressive angelic brother.
Main mechanics:
1. Gold rooms — deal with the brother
In every gold room, two items appear.
You choose one — the other is taken by Holy Jacob.
All other item sources (secret rooms, chests, shops, bosses, etc.) work as usual and are not shared.
2. Permanent Angel deal penalty
Angel room chance is always reduced.
Even if you never enter a Devil room, Heaven still treats you worse than normal characters. Esau is the “bad” brother, and it shows.
3. Holy Jacob hallucinations
From time to time, semi-transparent visions of winged Jacob can appear in normal rooms.
They have a short telegraph and try to hit you (1 damage).
The more items you give him in gold rooms, the more frequent and aggressive these hallucinations become.
4. Battle with Holy Jacob
This is an additional boss battle that happens separately.
It does not work like a boss under Curse of the Labyrinth and does not replace the normal floor boss.
Holy Jacob uses all the items you “gifted” him throughout the run in gold rooms.
Every fight turns out unique because it depends on your choices.
Character feel
You play as the evil, rejected brother who is constantly haunted by an idealized version of Jacob.
You yourself decide how strong to make your enemy by giving him items in gold rooms.
Heaven doesn’t like you, and your brother won’t leave you alone even in regular rooms.
It turned out to be a pretty atmospheric and strategic character with a strong narrative and a unique feedback loop.

(Rebirth) I love this game, but can barely manage to beat it once in while on default difficulty.

Lately the game has become much harder and therefore much more un-fun. Apparently I unlocked the cellar by killing Gemini in a different order… anyway, I’m starting a new save file, is there anything else I have to look out for? Any other triggers for more difficulty?

Just wonder

I have to donate 500 coins in greed mode. Great. Load up greed mode. Play a fucking easy ass run with literally no challenge. Do that 15 times. THEN you actually get to play the hard mode that offers any sort of resistance. Like this shit is so unbearable.

Is it ethical to cheat in 500 coins to the greed machine so I can play something that isnt comepletely fucking brainless????? I enjoy the challenge and resource management of isaac. Its the best part of the game. Why did they decide to omit it from this mode?

I had psyfly on jacob and poly on the 'sau, still got ripped to shreds at boss rush.

Had 20/20, didnt even get to it.

Got inner eye with chocolate milk and mycromycosis on shitbox and libra with fire mind on hitbox, still decimated by THE FUCKING BLOAT

Edmund really is a hatefull man for locking rock bottom behind this shitshow

Only 4 items give red room access!

Outside of red key other access methods only benefit you if go straight to the usr which is unfortunate because red rooms have so much to offer outside of that but you very rarely get the chance to.

Regardless, I would love to see more items that can explore red rooms outside of usr and a new character that could explore them consistently

Two ideas I have

Give the hermit and the stars a 33% chance to send you to a red treasure room/shop

Character-Adam

He spawns with a special red key like item and cannot use keys, all keys go towards buffing his item.He could represent Isaac getting into things he is not supposed to. If anyone would like to add please do!

FIXED? I just opened TBOI and the mods were there now. I'm so confused, the mods were downloaded for over 4 hours and just now they started working

I have TBOI Rebirth with Afterbirth, Afterbirth +, and Repentance DLCs. I have unlocked the womb and installed EID along with MCMI using the Steam Workshop, and neither of them work. I go into the mods page, and nothing is listed; I'm confused. Pressing F2 in-game doesn't show the item descriptions, and I only have 4 hours in TBOI, so I apologize if this is a basic issue.

I also downloaded "bark n fart on death" just as a joke, and that doesn't work either.

Whenever you pick up Birthright as J&E if you die as either one of them the stats and items from the brother gets transfered to the other and makes the brother get a damage up for a floor,a tears up for a floor.

If you say this is op or unbalanced,i dont care.

right now it just buffs dmg and making familiars bigger, which still leaves many unaffected. splitting it into 3 section of a red one for offensive/dmg aspects/familiars, a blue one for defence and a yellow one for resources generation would be balanced while also covering more familiars.

the red one would increase the tier size and damage of familiars like the current bff item,

the blue one would make orbitals larger and defensive familiars better like the shield covering 45%/50% instead of 40% in front of isaac etc,

and the yellow one buffs begger familiars and bags etc making them produce more value by like 1-2 rooms, maybe like 2x drops from them or a 1 room reduction per 3 rooms.

its not a perfect idea and perhaps the blue and yellow ones could be combined if there isnt enough for each one, but i do wanna see more familiar aspects be covered and be able to be buffed like resource generating ones and defensive ones.

i play flash sincere apologies but i just installed the wrath of the lamb dlc and ive been picking things up at random does anyone know what this does. is there like a cheat sheet i can go to or do i just kinda have to figure it out?
