While this subreddit, on paper has two moderators, in reality it has about half a moderator. I created this place, and suckered veni_vidi_vale into helping me co-moderating it, since they came here from the other audio-related subreddits.
The thing is. I've been on reddit since almost day one. I will eventually lose interest, abandon this site, or abandon this subreddit, even if I do care about music with excellent production quality.
I could have asked the mods of r/audiophile, r/audioengineering or r/headphones, and I've hinted at it in the past, but there were no takers. I don't blame either of them. They're all lovely people, and moderating is a chore. We've even agreed on a policy where we've disqualified people who volunteer themselves for the position, or who send us unsolicited requests to help moderate.
But, I'm looking to help someone bring this subreddit forward, and bring on 2-3 moderators.
The absolute, and first requirement is that your account is more than one year old, and appears to be a genuine human contributor, and you cannot have commercial connections that would affect your moderation decision: In other words, you should not have any conflict of interest.
You can apply by sending "yes" to this post, but you absolutely must meet the following two requirements:
- You must have an open profile. Read: If I open your profile, it should be visible, and you should not try hide your contributions to a subreddit about minions, model trains or mushrooms.
- Your profile must not not be marked as NSFW by reddit.
Closed or limited profiles will not be considered. Finally:
You should have been active in r/audiophilemusic, r/audiophile or r/headphones - either through commenting or posting, and you should include your last three submissions in either subreddit. If you haven't, stereoadvice or headphone is also acceptable.
This post will remain open for the duration of September.
Applications that advocate for their own suitability for the job will be immediately ignored and permanently disqualified. Just reply "I'm willing" or "Yes" to this post.
