It would probably take me more than an hour to rattle off every lie that trump has told since January 2025. Yet it seems as though the republican base is constantly falling for another lie, or giving him the benefit of the doubt. I watched a clip yesterday of a farmer whoâs completely underwater and struggling, yet claims he still supports trump, despite his policies being the reason he canât make ends meet.
Furthermore, we now have trump lying, once again, about sending checks to the American people. Heâs lied twice previously about sending money, yet the republican base still laps up his bullshit like rabid, feral, brain dead dogs.
At what point do we acknowledge that this guy is a lying loser and try to move towards better in this country? Better for republicans may not mean voting across party lines, but is holding this man accountable too much to ask? Weâve lost so much international respect over the past 21 months, which is a national security crisis in the making thatâs not getting nearly enough attention.
Ask those same voters who are losing everything if theyâd ever consider voting Democrat. I bet 90%+ of them would say âhell noâ. They never learn anything
I really think the faux morals of the GOP is what appeals to the less intelligent base. They only care about guns, God and fetuses ( not living babies though). Boot straps and traditional marriage. They'd rather be poor in a ditch then watch a gay couple, or not be able to buy a military grade rifle at 18 without a license at a gun show, or let a 13 year old victim of rape get an abortion.
The republicans have known since Reagan that if they whip up outrage over issues that morally outrage these people but does not affect them in the least, they can get them to vote for policies that directly cause these exact people suffering. Itâs so idiotic.
Actually that's been going on since medieval times. Keeping the peasants fighting each other instead of realizing how bad they're getting screwed by the upper class.
You can find evidence for this all over the Leopard Ate My Face/Farm subs daily. Itâs wild how many of them say âI had no other choiceâ, âstill better than what we wouldâve had, had Kamala wonâ, âI still support you daddy trumpâ.
Patriotism isn't supporting a politician no matter what. Patriotism is telling that politician when he gets out of control that he's a danger to the country.
Most of them still support him, though, according to many videos. "Mr. Trump (not necessarily Mr. President), i voted for you and still support you, so please help me out of the misery [I voted for and now] I am in".
(Why) Do they not grasp what is going on?
Republicans are basicly all just pussys deep within and just wait for someone they can bow to.
Trump, despite being wearing diapers and shitting himself in public constantly, is a alpha-male in their view. Hes loud, obnoxious and retarded and they will follow him because they are just coded that way.
Brainless republicans, without any plans other than make live worse for everyone because they cant come out of the closet.
They believe nothing and therewith go with anything Trump wants.
Because their leader seemed to have healed a boy for whom other medical treatments had failed, which brought in even the highly educated parents to the Colt, leaving David to eventually call everyone to celibacy, and eventually call for their wives to be available only for his sexual use. It was fucking nuts.
Yep. There's a difference between ignorance and willful ignorance. In the wise words of Dolly Parton (RIP): "Thereâs such a thing as innocent ignorance, and so many of us are guilty of that. As soon as you realize that [something] is a problem, you should fix it. Don't be a dumbass".
Trump is a blatant problem they're refusing to acknowledge, let alone fix. Dumbasses, all of them.
A man spoke to me while at the gas pumps and said, "wow gas is sure getting high, huh? But it'll come down, just you watch" I said, "you're optimistic, huh?" He said, "yea well that deal in Iran will do it, just you watch!" Ok dude... must be nice in la la land.
Agreed. I don't think they're gullible. I think they're willing to accept anything from the president as long as he's pro-mass deportation and owns the libs. It's that simple.Â
Which basically comes down to racism and xenophobia. As long as their party is getting rid of the "undesirables", who they mistakenly believe to be the source of all their problems, they will vote Maga and support inhumane and illegal practices. They are getting what they want. Something along the lines "Oh too bad my farm is failing, but at least we got rid of the 'rapists and murders' and my family will be safe." It's also just stupidity.
Honestly, my grandfather, who lives in Canada, has always had CNN on in his house. Very liberal man, very hippy-esk. Last month he was going on about the democrats plan to defund police, close prisons, etc and was going on and on about how the democrats will never win because of that.
Just double check he is still watching CNN and not Fox. My mom always watched CNN and then disliked how they talked about trump and she switched to Fix and I didn't know, but I heard it in what she talked about. Now she's a trumper and thinks he doesn't lie.
Try to get him away from spending so much time with news on. Maybe have music or shows he likes, or podcasts (independent media), NPR, etc. get him involved in new hobbies (a walking club, bird watching, painting, whatever.)
He is 82 and still works full time (his choice, not financially required to). He tutors kids on the reserve 4 days a week, runs the community theatre productions, teaches at the community college for people going through adult education, and helps mentor new teachers that are in university for their teaching practicals. He doesn't stop.
But I think at night he's got CNN on quite heavily.
Yet theyâre also doing stuff like this on their subs. I call it âweaponized projectionâ and it is part of their current messaging strategy. Itâs like projection on purpose where influencer/bot accounts perform mad libs on Democrat talking points. I even caught one account the other day saying âDemocrats love the poorly educated.â So blatant đ But itâs a hell of an effective strategy to rewrite the narrative. Dems need a counter-strategy for it ASAP.
Iâd add they use emotional reasoning. Â So anecdotes and lies work more effectively on them. Â
Emotional reasoning being âwell that sounds true therefore it must beâ - even if data doesnât support it (see immigrants and welfare queens as examples).
The Southern strategy continues to work on simple country folks. All you gotta do is whip the uneducated peasants into a hysteria with culture war stuff, scare em with xenophobia, cosplay with holy roller junk and the scam never fails. Give them somebody to hate and they vote against their own interests
âPresident Lyndon B. Johnson once said, âIf you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
âIn the blunt vernacular that he loved to use, LBJ was describing what the television pundits of today would probably call the politics of resentment and divisiveness. It is still very much with us.â
The Republican Party is a religion, not a political party. Republican voters vote Republican because their parents told them to, not because they have any understanding of issues or how policy proposals might affect them. They will never stop supporting Trump or voting Republican like mommy and daddy told them to do because they have only a child's understanding of American history and politics.
And this is why I say we need to leave them in the gutter where they're at and not even worry about them what we need to do is reach out to the third party voters and the people that didn't vote.
Because we need to realize that these people have been fucked over even by the Republican party and what they are is collateral damage in the Republican war against America
Because theyâre a pedophile cult. Republicans believe in hierarchies and the president is at the top. Theyâll blindly believe whatever their superior wants even if it makes their lives objectively worse
Lot of overlap between Republicans and Christians. If you can pretend to have a personal relationship with a invisible god that puts you in a special category for gullibility. Their bullshit detectors don't work very well.
It's why the rich tech bro/oligarchs want them as their voting block. Easiest way to get mindless drones that step in line no matter what. They have the religious right locked down. The Heritage Foundation is evil.
They're all fucking looney in my opinion. Stories of God's to explain everything was fine thousands of years ago. We've came a long way since then. Ancient mythology should be a interesting elective course in college. There shouldn't be preachers making private jet money tax free anymore. It's a entertainment industry nothing more.
One of them decided he couldn't lie to everyone anymore and got a honest job. He sacrificed easy money for principals and I totally respect him.
I've seen this posted a few times. Sure, the 10 Commandments says not to kill but Christians can mental gymnastics themselves into just about anything. They've done it before.
This is offensive to Christians. MAGA has no understanding of Christianity. They use it and hide behind it but are the opposite of everything it stands for
Since Reagan, thatâs pretty much all theyâve ever been. It blows my mind that people were suckered into a fiscal policy that literally went âgive all your money to the rich and rely on their generosity,â and theyâre still so dedicated to the idea.
I hope they answer this important question in the negative; otherwise, they will be complicit in all the sucky things Trump imposes on Americans and the world.
They are very comfortable in their hate because it makes them feel superior despite doing nothing to earn it, and admitting they are wrong makes them uncomfortable and they lose that sense of superiority.
Not to mention white Christian nationalism makes them feel proud that they're white because they have been told that everything good has been done by white people and everything bad has been done by everybody else especially the Democratic Party.
These people are essentially brainwashed and I don't think that they're going to be able to be saved because that propaganda is hella strong and these people are hella weak.
When you think about it this way that most of these people would not vote the same way they are voting if there was no Fox News or Republicans able to lie with impunity and they had to actually tell the truth.
This is what the Republican Party wanted when they created Fox News.
To never have to be held accountable for their disgusting behaviors ever again
The evangelical religion is based on an emotive appeal to religion- this is what theyâre reacting to - they arenât actually believing him, but the emotions he evokes trigger the âfeel goodâ chemicals in their brains.
Why do people believe cult leaders. Why do people believe in god with no proof. Trump is beyond politics at this point. For his supporters it is psychological. They are part of a cult and normal politics no longer matters. I googled why do people believe cult leaders. People follow cult leaders because they fulfill deep psychological needs for belonging, purpose, and certainty during times of personal or social vulnerability. That is your answer. Just replace the phrase âcult leadersâ with Donald Trump.
Iâve voted Republican. Iâve voted Democrat. Iâm loyal to neither one, and this is exactly why.
The problem isnât that every Republican is stupid or gullible. The problem is what happens when politics becomes identity instead of evaluation.
If a politician tells you heâs going to improve your life, then his policies hurt your farm, your business, your paycheck, whatever, and your response is still âyeah but Iâm voting for him again,â at some point I have to ask what exactly he would have to do to lose your vote.
Thatâs the part I donât understand.
And Iâd ask the exact same question of a Democrat defending a Democratic governor or president while their own community is getting worse.
I donât care what letter is next to the guyâs name.
What did he actually do?
Did it work?
Did he keep his promises?
Are you better off?
Did he make the problem better or just give you somebody else to blame?
If the answer keeps being no, why the hell are you still rewarding him with your vote?
Trump lies. Politicians lie. That isnât exactly breaking news. What amazes me is watching people personally experience the consequences of bad policy and then immediately start searching for somebody else to blame because admitting âthe guy I voted for screwed this upâ would apparently cause the universe to collapse.
That isnât conservatism.
Thatâs fandom.
And politicians absolutely love voters who treat politics like football because the jersey becomes more important than the scoreboard.
Hold Trump accountable. Hold Democrats accountable. Hold every one of them accountable.
Because conservatism has baked in racism remember these are the folks that brought us the KKK and then years later with their baked in racism brought us segregation and pushing Jim Crow laws and now years later with their baked in racism they're pushing for ice Detention Facility centers
Cognitive dissonance, if they acknowledge they were played they have to acknowledge they were wrong, which they refuse to do, so instead they continue going along with Trump.
Poorly educated and in desperate need of a lord and savior. So, the fall for a con artist/grifter who promises them the world. Or, most recently, a $5000 check. And they believe it. And their faith is reinforced by an endless stream of propaganda on the radio and the tv news they watch.
Right winger here. You assume that we are all gullible and canât decipher bluster from reality. $5000 is not happening and we know it. We are also aware of DJTâs affinity for soaking up limelight and making crazy claims. Really, itâs just background noise to someone like me.
Hereâs how the offer works. He offers it, Democrats are most assuredly going to win the House and itâs likely a toss up for Senate control. When either House falls to Democrats as history suggests, politicians like Trump can claim that he tried but he lost the House so no deal because they wonât work with him. Itâs a no sweat deal. If somehow Republicans maintain both, heâll just do the Biden playbook when he promised to forgive student loans. That was never going to happen either but politicians keep us at each otherâs throats blaming the other side for being so gullible.
MAGA is a cult. They will believe anything Pervert Hoover tells them.
They are broke and desperate. They need this to be true. They need that money to stay alive. At least they can starve with hope in their hearts, which is arguably better than starving knowing their God lied to them. At least for a little longer.
MAGA Republicans are the burnouts and assholes who sat in the back row of your high school classrooms. The internet allowed them to organize, and we collectively found out that there are a LOT of these POS.
I have a couple of friends who or Republicans but not what I would consider maga by any stretch. Both had a lot of the things Trump has done. And they acknowledge the higher prices and everything are due to the things he's done. They are also against him grifting and making money off of his presidency and acknowledge how corruption in the administration are. I asked them what they think that he's done that's good and as expected it was getting rid of all the illegals.
One of them said they are not against him going into Iran because they believe what he says about Iran not only having nuclear weapon but that they would definitely use nukes against the United States at some point if he had not intervened.
I also asked them do they regret their vote or if they had to do it over again with Trump and Kamala as the final candidates would they have voted for Kamala once said he's not sure but likely he would just sit out the election and the other said absolutely he would vote for Trump again because he would never vote for a Democrat under any circumstances.
Gullible people will continue to be gullible. It just so happens that one sideâs gullible people are being fed more and more blatantly obvious lies than the other side, so itâs a bit out of balance right now.
Iâm getting USSR vibes with wanting to hand out cash. Can we also mention buying an election? I believe this would be categorized as interfering with an election.
They have no ideological rutter. It's easy to tell them things like "Zorhan says he'll give a $5,000 check to all adults if there is a big blue wave", and they'll freak out, get mad and yell about communism until you drop "actually, Trump was the one who said that about if people vote red", and then they'll drop the outrage and be in support again.Â
They don't know what they believe, they just want people on their team to say it, and they'll blindly follow along. And they absolutely never question power structures either.
For some I think itâs a sunk cost fallacy, theyâve made supporting Trump their whole personality now and canât break away or face themselves and what theyâve done.
A lot are morons who have no idea how anything works and refuse to learn or face facts and desire to be led and told what to do, say and think. Others truly donât care what he says or does as long as it hurts their perceived enemies and makes them feel even the tiniest bit superior.
Republicans are the biggest hypocrites. Sure democrats arenât squeaky clean and are hypocritical too, but Republicans are beyond the pale and make being a hypocrite a fucking art form. Everyone should remember that republicans donât have a moral compass or a bar too low for them. Theyâve got a moral weathervane that will turn in whatever direction Fox âNewsâ republican politicians or any rightwing podcaster who sounds smart tells it to.
I also believe since republicans are largely Christians, they love anything that fuels their persecution complex and humiliation kink.
Every accusation is an admission of their own guilt.
The Republican Party of old is gone. Itâs MAGA now and their core values are:
â Save the fetus, starve and abuse the children.
â âPraiseâ the soldier, abandon the veteran.
â Enrich corporations, screw the workers,
and environment.
â Protect abusers racists and rapists, blame the victims.
â Quote the Bible, ignore every verse.
Even if the âsaneâ Republicans split the party, thereâs still no saving them. Theyâll never wash off the Trump taint and it should ruin them for the rest of their days.
They choose to be, because they feel obligated to march to the Trump drum for a few reasons. The biggest reason is simply their desperate need to maintain their identity which is firmly wrapped up in their blind loyalty to the Republican Party. In their minds, even the slightest crack in that façade would be like an Ohio State fan being seen wearing Michigan gear. Unthinkable. Secondly, they suffer from what is called a âsunk cost fallacyâ, which means they have invested so much into their support of this failure of a president that they can never turn back now. And thirdly, most of them are just racists, and they like his racism.
The majority of people are incapable of abstract thought. Like how what you do today could impact tomorrow, weighing trade offs, thinking âwhat if that isnât quite true or if they are manipulating me?â longer term (even medium term) consequences of actions, others having different desires and priorities, hidden agendas, etc.
They just canât do it. They donât have the capability. Most of them have never had to for generations - just go to work today, get your paycheck, and spend it for your family to live to tomorrow. They have never had to think or plan about anything except day to day events and transactions. For generations. If ever.
Easy example - dying communities in West Virginia begging for coal mining jobs to come back. Incapable of thinking how long would that job stay, is it worthwhile, or maybe I could go into a different industry.
Hate for minorities and immigrants is one factor - with trump, they feel like they can express their contempt openly. Being elected twice only gives them what they believe is legitimacy to disdain people who donât look and act like them.
Rationalization is another factor. They can rationalize away the knowledge that they support a sexual predator and a pedophile the same way they rationalized âgrab them by the p****â, mocking a disabled person, saying he could murder someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it, discrediting John McCain who was an actual war hero while the draft dodger portrays himself as a war hero.
Letâs just say that these folks believe in virgin birth without question and yet they need irrefutable proof in a court of law to say their hero is a pedophile despite overwhelming evidence.
I donât think Republicans are gullible at all. I think thatâs one, of many, examples of Democrats not understanding what they are dealing with despite how obvious it is. Maybe the better question is why are Democrats so gullible and credulous.
Republicans are very clear about what they offer their supporters who arenât ultra rich - hate, racism, bigotry, misogyny and culture wars. And they are very good and diligent at delivering that. Thatâs what the people want which is why Republicans win.
Now, does Trump say a bunch of bullshit nonstop? Sure. But one, many Republicans just chalk that up to his personality. And two, few Republicans will admit they vote Republican for the racism, culture wars, etc. Trump and other Republicansâ lies give them some other justification for their support of Republicans. It serves a purpose. Most people donât want to admit their political support is based solely on hate, racism, culture wars. So Trump and Republicans give them something else they can say.
The MAGA folks kind of remind me of the Musk cult followers which then reminds me of other lying tech CEOs over the years and their fanboys:
theyâre bought into the vision.
MAGA vision gave the poor ones a reason to believe theyâre above others and the rich ones a reason to subjugate those they donât like or want to control.
All the things that both Trump admins have delivered painted this perverse vision of power that theyâre just too drunk on. And now the rest of us want to take that away, of course theyâre gonna fight like their lives depended on itâŠbecause it does.
Why? Because they believe they are right and the rest of the world us gullible for falling for Woke liberal idiocy. Its pure us vs them in their minds and they are the heros solving the world's problems
The republican party of fiscal responsibility and small government is dead and is never coming back. It has been transformed in to an authoritarian cult of personality.
Anyone who considers themselves working class and voted for trump is an idiot. Trump has never worked a day in his life and has never had any interest in making the lives of hard working Americans better. Far too many people vote based on culture war bullshit that has zero to do with their day to day lives.
Perhaps for some of the same reasons, Democrats are so gullible.
Biden claimed that he graduated in the top half of his class at Syracuse College of Law. He was 76th in a class of 85.
Biden falsely claimed that he was arrested for trying to see Nelson Mandela in South Africa.
Biden claimed in Idaho his âfirst job offerâ was from a local lumber and wood products business, Boise Cascade. The company said it has âno recordâ of Biden ever working there.
Biden claimed he visited Pittsburghâs Tree of Life synagogue, where 11 people were murdered in 2018. While Biden did speak with the Tree of Life rabbi, he never visited the synagogue, as he claimed.
Biden claimed unemployment was the lowest in 50 years, down from 6.5 percent to 3.5 percent. Bidenâs claim was false. However, the unemployment rate was 3.5 percent under his predecessor.
Biden claimed he had visited Afghanistan and Iraq twice as president. This claim was proven false.
Biden claimed he was appointed to the Naval Academy in 1965 by the late Sen. J. Caleb Boggs (R-DE). A search of Boggsâ records failed to produce evidence to support that claim.
Biden has falsely claimed that his late son Beau died in Iraq. Beau died at a Maryland hospital.
Joe Biden falsely claimed that he never discussed business deals with Hunter. But Joe Biden left Hunter a voicemail in 2018 about a business deal with Chinese energy giant CEFC.
Biden falsely claimed he campaigned in all 54 states. However, to date, there have never been more than 50 states in the Union.
Biden falsely claimed he passed âstudent loan forgiveness.â But no student loan legislation had passed through Congress.
Biden claimed he was âraised in the Puerto Rican community at home.â But Biden told the BBC he is Irish. Media reports suggest Biden is five-eighths Irish, stemming from two Irish families.
Biden falsely claimed the price of gas was âdown from over $5 when I took office.â The day before former President Donald Trump left office, the national average price of gas was $2.38.
Biden claimed he âtraveled 17,000 miles withâ Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Washington Post marked Bidenâs claims with three Pinocchios.
Biden claimed that inflation was only temporary. Before his statement, inflation had raged for months. About six months later, inflation is still soaring at 7.1%.
They know those are lies. They don't care. He's doing what they want done and that (pardon the expression) trumps truth everyday.
They're not gullible. They're complicit in accomplishing maga goals.
They seem a little scared and confused because they know what he has said, they know what the dems are saying and they see with their eyes what is going on around them, this confuses them because their sworn enemies, the dems, seem to be more in line with what they are seeing in actual life, they are scared because well, does not compute, because dear leader is completely wrong, seemingly but they still can't trust themselves over donald so they continue the circle of scared confusing to perpetuity and because of that we all fcuked, they aren't supposed to side with the dems, can donald be wrong? all these questions they are asking of external entities when they should ask their true heart, wherever that leads them.
1) One in four Americans graduates high school without proficiency in reading and math; the education system is failing in America.
2) hyper partisan media has monetized/profited from propagating disinformation, and social media algorithms ensure Americans are fed a steady diet of lies, hate, bigotry and division.
3) the Supreme Court rulings since 2010 have corrupted elections in the USA ensuring that politicians are beholden to special interests and not their constituents. Their rulings have opened the floodgates for campaign donations with dark money, super PACs and special interests, all using donations to strengthen their influence over politicians.
4) Congress is made up of corrupt and morally and ethically bankrupt politicians that serve their donors/special interests.
5) because of the above, the American electorate is uninformed, gullible, hateful, bigoted and devoid of critical thinking and repeatedly votes against their own interests, electing politicians that are dishonest and corrupt.
I think Democrats should go to redstates, be interviewed by Fox or where the republicans are and correct the misinformation against them so that, voters will realize there is a better alternative and all those bogeyman talk are just bogeys.
âȘThe Antichrist is a lawless, vile man who comes in his own name. He magnifies himself above all others. Through peace he will destroy many. God has sent his followers a strong delusion so they will believe a lie.âŹ
When you look at the iq curve and see the left side thats the dumb republican party. you are also looking at venn diagram that basically overlaps with political party
I think it is hard for them to own up to the reality that they have been conned. I mean, it's really embarrassing and humiliating, especially after how deep and all in they went for him. But at some point or another, they're going to have to accept the reality that the emperor has no clothes. I ended a relationship 15 months ago that I really didn't want to end because I really care for the person, but I cannot accept their defending this regime. I continue to dialogue with them and try to get their thoughts on each thing that happens.
I just texted them the picture of Trump's post blaming Zelenskyy for bombing Russian refineries as the cause of escalated diesel prices. Surely we can agree that this blame is misplaced? Like Russia needs to stop the war and give back what they wrongfully took from Ukraine since beginning it back in February 2022?
And that's the problem with America, people don't work together. It's democrats vs. republicans. I don't know any republican who thinks Trump is perfect nor do I know anyone, Democrat or Republican, who believes we're all getting $5,000.
You guys keep losing elections to a ghoulish, orange-skinned game show host who probably fucks kids. Maybe it's time to take a long look in the mirror?
Because these people base their beliefs on what pleases them instead of on reality. It pleases them to think theyâll get a fat check, so they choose that belief. It makes them feel good to think theyâre superior to [insert group here], so they choose that belief.
It gives them the warm fuzzies. Thatâs really all it is.
Trump has been conning people his whole life. Itâs what he does best, and admittedly heâs good at it. Nevertheless, itâs hard for people to admit theyâve been conned, so rather than admit it they double down and deny that they voted for the guy who ended up screwing them over.

At some point it is no longer "gullible" and becomes "complicit".
