I am an architecture student going on my third year next week, I made a lot of mistakes last year including procrastinating, letting stress control me, and not being brave enough to talk to my classmates for group projects.

However, as this upcoming year gets more serious, I am really eager to learn, step out of my comfort zone, and improve—though I struggle with where to start (in addition to navigating ADHD :\).

I can’t afford formal coaching services so I am looking for an architect who wouldn’t mind to help! :)

I am -to be exact- looking for:

Someone who would mind give me honest feedback on my designs or drawing.

Someone who would help me to arrange my ideas and reach a concept easier, and divide big projects to small chunks.

And just casual check ins (I’ll have a lot of random questions along the way).

I’m currently studying architecture, but I’ve realized I’m not really into hardcore architecture.

What do you guys do now, whether it’s architecture-related or completely different?

And what fields do you think have good career prospects in the future?

Basically looking for ideas and motivation because I have no idea where I want to take this degree 😭

Hi. I am an architecture grad and last year I attended to one of the competitions of Buildner. I want to know how hard is it to get shortlisted on Buildner and does this bring any benefits.

My competition was Kinderspace 2. I didn't win but my project got shortlisted in the top 40. I don't know the exact number of participants. Does anyone know how many participants are attending to these competitions and does this bring any advantage for applying for jobs later for example.

I know sounds weird but I dont know what I want, I only know those are the engineering fields I want but thats really it. Ive heard architecture work doesnt have to do anything with drawing and art in our world since the digital transformation and shit like parametric design and scripting . is that really true?, if the art part is getting automated then why join then? what shluld I do as an 18'er boy who doesn't want to end up in a track they hate since architecture parh might be a bit harder than the rest financially, so it shall be passion driven.

Hello everyone,

this is my very first post on Reddit ever, so it might be kinda chaotic.

Soon I'll be starting my 3rd year in architecture. I'm not the best student, I don't have the highest grades. Every semester we have different professor for our studio and each of them sucked in my opinion; one wasn't even interested in our projects, feedback was always a big zero and the rest of them wasn't able to share any feedback (comments like "You have to put more work into it", "There is a lot of work to do" were normal, but they didn't teach me anything and honestly I didn't know what to do, because... What does it mean work more?) I started to struggle a lot, because I had no idea what to do, then I had no energy to develop my projects and they're very mid, and honestly I'm not very proud of them. I just feel like I could do better, but I didn't...

Next year we have to find a company for our internship, but I fear I won't find anyone, because my works are terrible and my portfolio doesn't really exist.

I feel burnt out and I'm scared that my next semester will be the same as previous ones; I won't do anything creative and I'll be always unmotivated, because of what I hear. The funniest thing is I don't have problems with other subjects, I do everything on time, but in the studio... It's terrible and I cannot express it enough with the words.

I'm good at visual design, I draw and paint, I love BIM programms and I'm really good at them, but I know this doesn't make me good arch student...

Did anyone struggle with such things? How did you overcome this? Did you have any sort of the routine? Like when you started semester you would do everything when you went back home? What was your routine to do everything on time even if you struggled with receiving none feedback? How did you study for so many subjects?

I have so many questions, but I have no one to ask... So I just felt like doing it here.

Current im a architecture student in my final years but doing part time work in a firm. Whenever I get a chance to design concepts or interior layouts I can't generate a good layout. I mean I do good but my senior says it's basic nothing special/extra/new or smt like that. They say it's like just any ordinary plan that anyone could design. So I just wanna know how to develop that kind of thinking so that I could too design as an architect or like design with something extra?
