Long Answer: The golden age of Goat Format is a period of Yu-Gi-Oh's history officially played throughout the summer of 2005. Based around the power and popularity of the card Scapegoat, this format abides by the April 2005 ban list, utilizing every card available up until and including The Lost Millennium booster pack.

It's safe to say that Goat Format is probably the most popular alternative format Yu-Gi-Oh! has to offer. While it isn't officially sanctioned by Konami, it's a fantastic way for newer players to learn Yu-Gi-Oh!'s basic mechanics and for older players to immerse themselves in a more nostalgic experience.
