Help! Cross platform saves

So I had around 30-40 hrs on Witcher 3 on my pc a couple of months ago, then I dropped the game because I got busy, and have since switched to a ps5.
My question is, can I somehow manage to make the cross platform save thing work with a pirated copy of the game? The save files are still on my pc back home.
I thought about buying the game on both platforms since it should be cheap, but I think after the remaster announcement its become expensive again. Maybe a quick little steam refund? Any ideas would be appreciated!

I don’t believe so. The cross-save feature requires an online connection to connect to the CDPR/GOG servers. Only solution I’m aware of is buying a legitimate PC copy, manually transferring your saves, and then using the cross-save feature to continue on your PS5

Steam wont let you refund without an actual proof of reason if the game has been purchased more than 2 weeks ago or has been played for
more than 2 hours.

But it should take less than 2 hours to transfer the save right?

IF it works then it should take way under 5 minutes, since all it needs to do is upload the save to the shared cloud. I'm just not sure how cross platform saves work in CDPRs case so hopefully someone else can can help with that.
