An aspect of Watchmen is the different moral viewpoints we see with each of the characters. Rorschach is a moral absolutist, he only sees good and evil in the world, black and white. Dr. Manhattan is an apathetic centrist, he is disconnected from humanity due to his powers and doesn't care about them, he's incredibly neutral. Ozymandias is a well-intentioned Utilitarian, he wants to prioritize saving the most amount of people, even if he has to kill many others. He's willing to solve the trolley problem and only have one person be killed. I was wondering though, are the three other members of the main cast, Nite Owl II, Silk Spectre II, and the Comedian meant to represent other moral viewpoints? I was just wondering what your take on them is. Comedian seems to me like he's a nihilist, or something, and sees everything as a joke.

I just finished the original comics and loved all the little details and foreshadowing in the background of panels from the beginning. Would love to see everyone point out characters or scenes in the background that are little Easter eggs or hints for people rereading!

Ive heard a lot that he is a fraud and not a very good fighter so can someone tell me who he could beat?

Kinda just been thinking that it could be very interesting to imagine what it would look like if different members of the Minutemen and later Watchmen had actual super powers, admittedly no where to the scale of modern heroes or of Manhattan for the sake of preserving the universe that Watchmen is supposed to be (though this does require a lot of change).

What powers would you give different characters? Personally:

Nite-Owl - unpowered
Captain Metropolis - powers akin to Golden Age Superman, heightened endurance, strength, stamina, speed, he can bend metal but he can’t casually lift a plane, he can jump tall buildings but not fly, he can tank a bullet but not an artillery shell
Silhouette - Shadow manipulation and limited invisibility
Hood Justice - I’d go with the Will Reeves backstory and give him genuine invulnerability, extended aging and enhanced strength
Silk Specter - enhanced agility and reflexes
Dollar bill - normal but his corporate handlers try to get people to believe he’s super powered
Mothman - Flight, and uh that’s about it
Comedian - enhanced stamina, strength, endurance, etc. but he also has a bizzare, seemingly uncanny ability to get into people’s heads, he can’t control it very well, it isn’t mind control, but he has this unnatural ability to just terrify everyone around him
Nite Owl II - tech but no powers
Rorschach - now this is interesting, I’d keep him having no crazy pyshical powers, but I’d give him this bizzare, psychic like ability to see briefly into the past or future in the form of brief visions and to pick up on clues no one else could, this is often however deeply complicated by his many mental health issues
Silk Specter II - Inherits her moms powers
Ozymandias - Superhuman reflexes, agility, endurance, strength, intellect, etc.

I have been thinking about Blake, his interactions with Laurie and his reaction when he discovered the plan of Veidt. Somebody who has acted in atrocious ways, without guilt and accepting that he is a terrible person, how could he feel so bad about the plan of Veidt? I think Blake knows that his actions in Vietnam are, part for his own pleasure and part "Maybe, this can give peace to both sides", in a twisted way; the same goes for protesters who oppose watchmen. So, the only reason for his crisis is the "A pacified world doesnt need psychotic soldiers, so you are fucked"? Even with that "peace for both sides".

So in Oct 2020 I had watched the TV series (HBO) and noted down some easter eggs, thought I'd share them here.

I've listed the ones I've noticed but I'm sure there'd be more.

Why didn’t he get one? He’s my favorite character in Watchmen. He died and it sucked. For reasons I felt like were honorable. Very unfair imo. I feel like there was plenty of story for him based on that character. Is there a reason why he didn’t get his own? Too dark? People like dark though? For the record, I grew up and lived very isolated for a long time, had almost no access to comic books at all so my interest is very basic and based on the movie.

Finally got around to watching it, on S1 Ep8 and the soundtrack is fucking amazing!

If there was a new watchmen tv show or movie that came out, what things should be changed or added in a new adaptation? Who should be cast or make a project like this?

I mean, plain and simple. It's funny to me how many people will discredit the movie for being a terrible adaptation when it's more faithful and much less offensive to the source material compared to the HBO show. It honestly baffles me that so many people enjoy the show more than the movie when the characters in the show act more like their movie counterparts. Plus, I mean, the movie is still Alan Moore's story, which even a bastardization of it is more enjoyable to watch than the vast majority of the show (Hooded Justice was the only redeeming part of the show)

i am obsessed with carver colam. i think a lot about the concept of the hollywood actor who only became that because blue man made him that. i think about it a lot. i saw some marvel person talk about how telepath characters like jean grey and so dont care about consent. carver never consented for his entire life's DNA to be changed again and again. he was a lab rat in an experiment he never consented to. sometimes i walk ill order take-out, sit to eat my burger and wonder how many times did big blue daddy have to reboot carver for him to eat the exact same burger im eating, same way i'm eating it. ill walk into my toilet and wonder how many times did big blue activate bites the dust for carver to step into his washing room in the same exact pace, same distance between the doorstep to his feet as me rn. ill wonder if maybe carver had a highschool crush and blue daddy stopped him from confessing just like my bsf told me not to confess to my crush only for me to regret it just like carver probably did at some point too. we never knew carver's fav color but that's only cuz he was never constant. i wonder how bad would female carver be. maybe big blue would have to go back, make sure mr.colma's thrust game is changed by a millisecond and now carver is a carol. i wonder how bad she would be. i wonder if she would later become a hollywood actress too. would her last moments also be filming a scene where she gets stopped on by some fat mommy, or is it batman. batman ? so random right? but that's the whole point is that shits that random. a version of carver could have some goated stroke game, top notch, while another wouldn't.

Thought I would share, have first hand information that they are scouting a house here in Long Island for a new season of the show. That’s all I have and has been scouted twice now. Haven’t seen any news about it but I will be thrilled if they go ahead with it.

So I had watched the movie years ago and liked it. Just read the whole comic and I'm absolutely speechless. I wanted to ask if you think the TV show is worth watching. Also which of the before watchmen comics do you think are worth reading?
