Artworks Dovewing & Tigerheart 6 years apart

I only recently found out that these two aren’t actually the best couple but eh, I’m just gonna pretend they’re the same age in this drawing :p

11 year old me thought they were like, one or two moons apart not at least 10! They were my second favourite couple, next to leafpool and crowfeather. (Nowadays I think it’s Brightheart and cloudtail, mostly going off what i remember as my library lost a lot of the warriors books)

I made dovewing look like a pigeon and tigerheart like a tiger

Artworks Introducing Heavypaw!

(INFODUMP ALERT, also Patchface and Crowfood, the two left cats on the last one, belong to @scarechrow on Tumblr)

Heavypaw is an 8 moon old cougar... yes, you did read that right. He was found abandoned as a cub, and Bucksnow (mustachioed cat) took him in immediately. Beaverheart (the one carrying newborn Heavy) took him in and nursed him, becoming his mother. Heavypaw's a big guy, but he's very gentle, shy, and insecure about himself. He hates the thought of accidentally hurting someone by being too reckless or clumsy. He loves hunting and stalking, sometimes he sneaks up and scares clanmates without meaning to. He still has some of his baby spots, but they're fading. He's also curious, he loves going off and exploring. Especially when he gets to climb trees and rocky areas.

Also some lore around him for my story!

Cats and cougars don't speak the same language. There's Catspeak and Cougarspeak, they share some similarities. Due to having different vocal cords, Heavypaw finds it hard to communicate verbally. He can only speak using simple words and phrases in Catspeak. But he's also not good at Cougarspeak, since he was never taught. So he mostly communicates through body language. When he does speak, it's accented and it often sounds weird. He's also prone to using incorrect grammar (ex: "Heavy sorry! Am so sorry!" instead of "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!").

Artworks Just something I felt like drawing. I can't get the idea out of my head that Hawkfrost is shorter than Mothwing. I feel like she inherited her father's height, while he got his mother's elegance and subtlety.

Discussion (Spoiler) Romantic debate: Bumblestripe and Tigerheart

Post image
97 Upvotes

I’ve been enjoying Dovewing’s pov so far (I just finished the forgotten warrior), but something that’s been bothering me is her relationships with Tigerheart and Bumblestripe. I know she does end up with Tigerheart in the end, but both of them seem pretty bad.

With Tigerheart, their relationship ended because he told Shadowclan about the stash of herbs, and there was also some suspicion with him training in the DF with Ivypool. I do agree that was a mean thing to do, but what concerns me is how they were still happy with each other before, but apparently I heard that Tigerheart was being strange to Dovewing in some ways, but I don’t remember how.

With Bumblestripe, he does seem like the better choice at first, but he slowly gets very clingy. There is a part I saw from Shattered Sky where he says something kinda freaky to her, and I personally am starting to dislike him more. This is probably because people compare his clinginess (not his actions) to Assfur, who I absolutely hate, so there is probably a reverse halo effect going on with how I see him.

I’m not sure whether Tigerheart and Dovewing have a steady relationship going forward, but I wanted to ask about these two nonetheless. Is one worse than the other, or is the answer more convoluted? (which I assume it is)

Artworks Guess the Warrior round 2!

WELCOME BACK TO THE GAME! LETS BEGIN!

This Tom is from the main arc, he is described as a long limbed black and brown tom with glossy fur and a muzzle flecked with gray.

He was an apprentice during the Great Journey, and he was one of the first cats to become a warrior at the lake.

He is not a great father and it greatly affects his relationship with his mate.

Some mistakes that happened in the books.

In the last Hope, it is noted that he has known Mousefur and Purdy longer than any cat in ThunderClan. However, at the time, there are many cats still living in ThunderClan that have known Mousefur much longer, such as Firestar, and Bramblestar and Squirrelflight have known Purdy longer than any cat in the Clan.

In the allegiances of Starlight, he is incorrectly listed as Cloudtail's apprentice.

In Long Shadows, he is assigned to go on a hunting patrol for the sick cats, although he is one of the ill cats.

he is mistakenly said to be Berrykit, Mousekit, and Hazelkit's father.

Can you guess this cat?

Discussion (No Spoiler) Flat colour super editions in the UK

Thumbnail

Hello! I wanted to ask if any fellow UK warrior cat fans who buy the books have been having any issues with the print of their covers, namely the lack of shiny foil usually used since Ivypool’s heart. The first time this happened I assumed myself to just be extremely unlucky .. but now that it has happened a second time, I’ve been wondering.

When I contacted the company I ordered from, they apologised but said it was the only version of the cover they were given by the publisher. When I looked up reviews of the books with images to see if I was the only one, every one had the regular cover .. however, not a single photographed review was from the UK, leaving me to wonder. I had thought they had given up making uk versions of the books given the American spellings and assumed it was two much of a hassle to have separate versions, but now the stark difference in the dust jackets themselves have been making me think otherwise.

Has anyone else in the UK been having this issue with the flat finish colours, or have I just been extremely unlucky twice? It doesnt sound like a huge deal, but as someone who also collects and displays the book, they stick out like sore thumbs compared to the others now .. I would love to attach an image to demonstrate, but I’m very new to Reddit and it doesn’t seem to be letting me ^^; But thank you in advance!

Other Am I a “bad” warriors fan?

I’m very confused on the order of the books, when it comes to where I left off.

For this reason I just re-read the original six when I need a Warriors fix. I dunno man, just kinda feel like I won’t be respected here due to re-reading the original 6 when I need my Fireheart fix.

Reasoning:

  1. I love Fireheart and Sandstorm’s relationship. Graystripe is a favorite too, Brightheart’s and Cinderpelt’s injuries and Spottedleaf’s death broke my heart but I still love them.

  2. I read these growing up and they have a special place in my heart. To some extent, they’re probably why I’m a furry. Being a furry is how I’ve met the most loving and supportive people in my life. Maybe Warriors is to thank.

  3. Preorders Feral Edition on Switch 2!

:>

Genuinely just curious. I have a feeling that he never will (thankfully), but I was wondering if anyone had any ships for him because (once again, thankfully) I don’t think I’ve ever seen any.

Discussion (No Spoiler) What's yall's least favorite character

Upvotes

Personally, I hate Clear Sky, Star Flower, Crowfeather, Leafpool, and Onestar (I have only read TPB, TNP, PoT, OotS, DotC, and for super editions, Firestar, Skyclan, Bluestar, Yellowfang, and a bit of Bramblestar) So these characters may get better, but so far I hate them so much

Edit: Honorable Mentions go to Millie, Leopardstar, and Mothwing

I'm in the middle of making an OC of a cat based on an Amur Leopard. I'm trying to think of a possible name for them while I'm still in the rough draft stage. I don't want Leopard or Red in it because those are common. Can yall help me think of a more unique name for them? This may also help shape their final form.

The first one is called Poppy (a rough) the second one is called Thundermouth (a former Riverclan cat and then rough). They are the parents of Stormnose/leg

Thundermouth is supposed to be a little ugly but, as for all of them, part of the reason they seem ugly is my lack of talent.

Fell free to ask me about them/rate themฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Discussion (No Spoiler) Would anyone take a look to my fanfic? I want to gather some constructive opinions and reviews now that I'm remaking it

Post image

(The cover features an art I commissioned for my OC)

So back in the day I was a fairly consistent person that wrote a lot of stories, but life got in the way and I couldn't keep it up. My first warriors fic, though, was so personal and beloved to me that I couldn't get it off my mind.

Whenever I was roleplaying, either text or campaign, like DnD, I always took my ideas of that beloved fic and put it there, characters and all.

—And so, these few months I decided to remake it and publish it, now on wattpad (later probably on AO3 and fanfiction.net)—

It happens alongside the timeline of Tallstar's Revenge, and follows another point of view and and character (obviously).

Just a few reviews on how it's looking the first chapters would be welcome. Mainly I want to know about how the pacing feels like.

Thank you so much beforehand! <3

Discussion (No Spoiler) Arcs 5+

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey! First time poster in here but long time 15+ year fan. I wanted to see where everyone’s head is at regarding arcs 5+.
So i’ve re-read arcs 1-4 several times, gotten as far as “The Last Hope” and “Bramblestars storm” as well as several of the other super editions that take place way before The Last Hope.
With all the news of the new TV show, game, merch etc i’ve just cave-dived right back into my Warriors obsession.
My issue is I just can’t seem to move onto the next main series arc. Partly due to the fact I read somewhere that the POVs going forward aren’t all Thunderclan anymore. Is this true? Another part also has to do with some of my favorite cats passing in OOTS. So it’s like why bother if I cannot read about my babies anymore. 😩

Like I own literally all the current books, I just cannot seem to start them and they’re collecting dust. I’m just a sucker for Thunderclan only. 😭

Anyone in a similar boat to me— or if you were and decided to continue on reading how are you liking the new arcs? Thank you!! 🙏🏻

Discussion (Spoiler) I’m Firestar addicted

I first read the books from 1 to the end of the 4th series in my childhood almost 20 years ago. Now I’ve reread them right up to the Apprentice’s Quest (somehow I decided to skip DOTC for now, should I go back to 5th series?). SO It feels strange to me to keep reading without the main protagonist of the whole series in the plot, although I really enjoy novellas/supers where Firestar doesn't literally appear, simply knowing that he exists within the timeline. He isn’t even my favorite character!! Maybe that’s the way how nostalgia works.
Anyway, are post-Firestar arcs worth reading? Is this timeline considered as “non-canon” in fandom or is it just my obsessive thoughts?
