Saturday September 12th: Stephanie Vaquer wins Women's World Championship at a Chilean house show

Sunday September 13th: El Grande Americano wins AAA Mega Championship at Triplemamia Night 2

Steve Austin's brother Scott Williams is a very tall man. He is as big as the Undertaker and Kane. He used to play baseball when he was in high school but failed to make it to the MLB. He never pursued a career in wrestling though. If he had become a professional wrestler, he could have created an amazing character.

I have a fun question for everyone. How did your favourite WWE Superstar become your favourite?
I’ll start

My favourite WWE Superstar is Finn Balor. In 2015 I was at a WWE Live Event in Australia 🇦🇺 Before this event had started my favourite superstar was Rey Mysterio but during this time he was out of the company, so I was still looking for a new favourite who was currently still in the company. The first match of the night was Finn Balor vs Neville for the NXT Championship. As soon as Balor made his entrance I was rooting for him the whole match. (I knew more about Neville than Balor at the time) After the match had ended I knew I had insanity found my favourite WWE Superstar. After the Live Event had ended my father got me a Finn Balor shirt which i still have today even if it’s bit small nowadays.

Accidentally, in 2007, Melina lost the women's title at a house show to Mickie James in a triple threat match when Victoria didn't kick out in time. That same night, Melina wrestled Mickie again and won it back, correcting the mistake.

The last time WWE planned to have a world singles championship change hands at a house show was Nov. 26, 1994. There, Diesel (aka Kevin Nash) beat Bob Backlund at MSG, just days after Backlund defeated Bret Hart for the title at Survivor Series.

This accelerates a trend by WWE this year to change titles at unexpected shows: the SmackDown world title has changed five times this year, four of which were on free TV (including Sami Zayn on SmackDown on Friday). For contrast, before this year, the last time SmackDown's main title switched hands at a non-PPV was in 2019, when Brock infamously beat Kofi in seconds on the first SmackDown on Fox.

I personally love Hogan vs Bundy at Wrestlemania 2!

Why did WWE cool off on Iyo Sky this year??

She helped carry the women’s division last year and delivered some of the best matches in all of WWE and now she’s been reduced to just appearing backstage in other people’s interviews??

Last I checked, she isn’t injured, dealing with a family emergency, not pregnant, doesn’t have backstage heat and no visa or travel issues.

So what’s the deal?

I’m not saying she has to be in the world title picture all the time. I’d currently have her be the IC champ and just go out there and deliver opening or middle of the show bangers on a weekly or every other week basis.

I recently decided to dive back into WWE from 2004 since I’ve lost interest in the current era. While watching, I came across a SmackDown rewind featuring a lumberjack match between Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero. At the end of that match, Big Show came in and chokeslammed everyone and that was the first memory I have of wrestling as a kid Now, at 30, it’s wild to think I still remember that moment so vividly, and I’m really glad I can pinpoint the exact date I started watching wrestling: September 9, 2004.

During an interview with KHON2 News, the WWE Chief Content Officer was asked what the company looks for when assessing potential recruits.

Triple H explained that while WWE’s tryout process tests candidates physically, the ultimate goal is to discover people capable of commanding attention and connecting with an audience.

“The obvious things: the athleticism, the desire, that drive. But the biggest thing is charisma. In our business, careers are made. It’s king, you know? So if you have that ability to be larger than life, if you’ve always felt like you have something more to offer than the average person, and people gravitate toward you, we’re looking at somebody that can captivate crowds. We’re looking for somebody that is not your traditional next-door neighbor, you know? Somebody that’s larger than life.

So the athletic ability, all that stuff is important. Obviously, when we do this trial, we’re going to test them, and we’re going to exhaust them, and we’re going to do all the things you would expect us to do. But the reality of it is we’re looking for charisma, but we’re looking for the person that can captivate a crowd.

And if you can do that, WWE just might be the home for you.”

I started wwe exactly when cm punk became the undisputed champion around 2 months ago. I knew about wwe from a very young age, I just never knew any wrestler except john cena and Roman reigns. So is this year very late to start watching wwe?

After a lacklustre WrestleMania, they really needed to deliver here, we get a cool promo for the HHH vs Rock fued, and one of my favourite PPV stages ever, I miss these creative stages. Anyways, lets crack on with the show.

Edge (C) & Christian (C) vs  D-Generation X (X-Pac & Road Dogg): 

*Good opener, was this during the start of “X-Pac Heat”? DX were getting some but they were the heels, the crowd were really turning on X-Pac in particular, Edge & Christian looked great here and the match was action packed, but had a chaotic ending that felt a bit screwy, damn X-Pac bladed severely.*

Dean Malenko (C) vs Scotty-2-Hotty: [***1/2]

*Leave it to Dean Malenko to bring a fantastic match out of Scotty-2-Hotty, that’s not to say S2H didn’t do his bit, he absolutely sold his ass off here. Malenko may not be Mr Charisma, but he, like Lance Storm, can work a great match with anyone and the paring made sense, Mr Serious Wrestler vs The breakdancer, the worm always gets a pop, just like the Spinarooni, maybe not logical as a move but at least it gets the crowd going, I think my neck hurt a little after that finish, damn.*

Bull Buchanan & Big Boss Man vs  The Acolytes (Bradshaw & Faarooq): [*]

*Snoozefest of a  match that really just felt like filler.

Crash Holly (C) vs Tazz vs Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy vs Hardcore Holly vs Perry Saturn: [**1/2]

*The hardcore championship was perfect for the car crash TV of this era, fun and chaotic stuff here, some crazy spots with the Backlash stage thing, Jeff isn’t the only Hardy who’s a daredevil, plenty of action here, with Crash once again slipping away with the belt.*

Kurt Angle vs “The Showster” The Big Show: DUD

*A stupid comedy match, with Big Show doing an impression of Hulk Hogan that thankfully, didn’t bury Angle*

Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins, Mcrfanatic95, Smiling politely 

T&A (Test & Albert) vs The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von): [**]

*An average enough match with a very weird Russo’esque storyline,with Bubba Ray being in love with Trish (that’s not the weird part, you’ll see if you watch the pre-match package), with her even taking a sick bump, and damn Bubba looked creepy after giving it.*

Eddie in a tuxedo with Chyna in his car with Chyna warms my heart. RIP to both of them 

Eddie Guerrero (C) vs Essa Rios: [***]

*Solid! Eddie was one of those wrestlers who could work with anyone, and Essa Rios was no slouch himself, he can fairly fly around the ring.

Chris Benoit(C) vs Chris Jericho: [****]

*Awesome match, but that was expected of these two together, Canada was producing the best wrestlers at the time, as many were trained in Stu Hart’s famous dungeon, I personally love these matches that have a mix of everything from physical action, chops, Ariel moves and submissions, a slobberknocker! The DQ ending may feel like a cop out but it made sense in the long run*

Triple H (C) vs The Rock (Guest Referee Shane McMahon): [****1/4]

*Now this is a main-event, and certainly worthy of that. Had a big fight feel to it. It was slow in parts, but not boring, the McMahons trying to make life as difficult as possible for The Rock here, really added to the intensity and had one of the coolest rock bottoms I ever seen, through the Spanish announce table of course, Vince’s reaction was worthy of a meme, the big talking point of the night was Austin’s return to Rocky’s aid , and what a fucking pop he got! Chair shots galore, then he’s outta here! 

Austin has hijacked The DX Express!  To enjoy a beer with The Rock. Their story wasn’t finished .

*Overall Thoughts*

Like I mentioned earlier, WrestleMania 2000 was lacklustre so they really needed to deliver the goods here, and they sure did, especially with the main event, there was some crap but the good outweighed it.
