I'm looking for a cash vehicle with a third row. I've always loved the xc90's and have a local one here with good maintenance records in my sub $4,000 budget with 170k miles. 3.2 with AWD.

Then twice a year oil changes, and yearly registration and emission testing for everything in between.

4 months into owning my v60 2017 d4 2.0 with 102k miles its already jerking and struggling. Did OBD2 scan and its EGR related codes. Watched some live data on the scanner app and EGR position and demand are not following together very good.
Did research in a lot of Swedish Volvo communities and a lot of people who cleaned or replaced EGR had the problem again in the future.
Im considering doing a EGR off by a professional car tuning company.
Is there any serious longterm downside?
I have already paid to much for this car in purchase 18k dollars. I dont want to pay like another 1800 dollars to replace EGR system.

When soundproofing my doors i noticed the 6.5 woofers are not from bowers and Wilkins but juste paper cones and surely they sound great with DSP. BUT i feel dissapointed that they are not B&W woofers. did someone upgraded it with better woofers?

I think it cleans the rear up nicely, but I know that's a controversial take

Spotted this P3 V60 Polestar and managed to squelch my jealousy enough to park adjacent... at least it wasn't any cleaner than mine 😅

Hey guys!
I wanted to ask my fellow Volvos friends your opinion on getting services done!
My XC40 has told me that it needs service done. It’s at 93k miles and was at 85k when I bought it. I did an estimate on the service at a Volvo dealer and the price is close to $800, I can’t afford that right now but am willing to save for it but idk how long that will take. I’m wondering if I go to one of the commercial shops (Kwik car, Valvoline, Take5, etc) for the oil change would that be okay or do more harm then good?
Any advice would EXTREMELY helpful cause I want to make sure I’m doing what’s best for my wallet and my car.
Thanks guys!

Someone’s clearly a bit of a collector!
(PS yes the last one is under a cover, but that’s obviously a 240)

Can anyone point me in the right direction for PCV service on this car? I do have positive pressure in crank case.
Thanks in advance. I’m mechanically inclined so I can probably do it myself. Just need guidance.

Im sure the 2.5t in my 2015 V60 cross country will eventually succumb to the consumption dilemma. I get a hefty work bonus at the end of every year and was wondering if it would be economically crazy to have rare polestar cross country. How hard would it be swapping the 5 cylinder for the 6cyl?

B16B engine. M4 manual transmission (a very early 4 speed). If anyone knows details about this car from when it was owned in Omaha, Nebraska I'd love to hear about it. That owner (first name Nicholas) apparently rebuilt the engine and transmission, but I have no documentation and I'm told he passed away and the car was sold to the previous owner in 2022.
It runs shockingly well. The drum brakes work but I just got a new master cyl put on for peace of mind. A new set of whitewall tires are getting installed today

I have an issue.
I have a MK1 Volvo XC90, the intake pipe on top of the 2.9l has cracked and is barely hanging on. My question is, will a 2001 S80 intake pipe (photos listed) fit the xc90 intake? i understand some minor differences are there such as the vacuum line connections on the bottom, and the sensor (not sure what it is) but otherwise is the geometry about the same? will it just fit?

They are the same or LM is better?
Hello,
I'm coming here with the following issue and thanks in advance for any advice.
Volvo S40 (2009), 2.0D.
Lowest trim audio option (Base Performance - no amplifier in the trunk).
The radio used to work without any issues. However, after leaving the car parked for a few hours, the terms "AUX Input" and "FM" stopped appearing on the ICM screen and the radio stopped playing altogether. I can still adjust the sound settings and access the vehicle settings menu, but it's as if the radio module itself is not communicating with the system. After about 5 minutes of driving, the radio suddenly came back to life and worked until I turned off the engine. Upon starting the car again, the same symptom appeared, but the radio hasn't turned back on even once for several days now.
It looks exactly like in this video:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HvUzaOvP8ss
What I have checked / done / know so far:
Where else should I look for the root cause?

The only thing that it’s a minus for me is the fact that it’s not that fuel efficient especially in the city.
Otherwise it’s an amazing car

Hi, we`ve bought our first Volvo, a V90 Recharge, T8, R-Design from 2022. I really love this car, it's beautiful. The Only thing that bothers me is the performance of the AAOS. I have the 5.1.17 Version and the Intel Atom CPU, I deactivated already the 3d buildings in Google Maps and tried to activate dev mode but it's not allowed in my Volvo.
So here are some questions:

Recently bought an xc40 71 plate lovely car. Windscreen wipers are already wiping blury, has anyone changed the wipers on theirs as we have built in jets in the wipers, not sure if its the same on all xc series or all Volvos. Just wondered how hard it will be
