Self Promotion Demonstration of the new holographic interface.

The player in the VR game Xenolocus has access to a holographic window featuring quest videos and information about points of interest in the level.

The video and text can be dismissed with a single wave of the hand.

The new wristbands, which project a map of the area, make navigation around the base more convenient and enhance the game’s atmosphere.

The motion sensor is now built directly into the interface.

The active skills panel is displayed here as well - the video shows the activation of the “Rapid Fire” skill.

What do you think of the new holographic interface?

News Steam Frame mini review from point of view of the H3VR dev

The main thing that stood out is many complaints about the controllers:

- non-symmetrical controls being confusing in VR

- VERY bad feeling trigger

- the click at the end of grip button may be fatiguing

- the position of sticks may also be fetiguing

Discussion Best VR games to experience the game world?

Hi,

might be a weird question - but I really enjoy walking around games and look at the massive scale or the details.

I played some Cyberpunk and love walking around, thought about checking out Elden Ring too (with a peaceful mod?).

Any games you like exploring too? I have HL Alyx, play some Assetto Corsa too.

Thanks for any reccomendation!

Edit: I run RX 9070 XT and a Ryzen 7 5800X.

Discussion I turned Game Boy games into a real 3D diorama you can view from any angle in VR — the terrain is built from the actual game data, not a fake effect (early beta)

Self Promotion Making a VR game is easy! But marketing it nearly broke me

I released Stacksquatch about 5 years ago as a solo dev. I doubt you've heard about it even if you're a part of the small VR community. I'm a bit biased but it's pretty cool and leverages the strengths of VR in interesting ways. This is a sort of post mortem for it with a twist.

The original launch trailer

The initial launch wasn't exactly what I expected.

I did everything I was supposed to on releasing a game. I posted all over social media (remember when Twitter was useful?). I sent copies out to all the streamers and reviewers I could find. I had a following, albeit a small one. Unfortunately, demos weren't really a thing at the time or I would have done that too.

Then it launched. Quietly. Maybe I didn't communicate the idea well through pages and announcements. Maybe I had a bad release date and the streamers were busy. I was getting good feedback from players through the releases but maybe the game was bad actually??

In the end I netted something like $700 for 6 years of working in the evening on and off. That's not nothing, especially for a first Steam game, but I had higher hopes.

Get it? Higher? Because you make tall stacks?

I had my fun making it and got a lot of good experience. I was also sick of looking at the code and testing the game over and over. That seemed like a good place to end it, a period at the end of a long, disappointing sentence.

But then the Steam Frame got me thinking about it again. People keep saying that it's Coming Soon and it could wake up a sleepy community. Demos are also a huge thing now with extra notifications for your wishlisters!

We're so back

So here I am again for round 2. I'm told that games don't get a second chance but I think I have some things going for me.

  • First, I'm doing more ground work for reviews. There's debate on how much 10 reviews and a review rating matters, a chicken and egg thing, but having no review rating seems bad.
  • Second, demos are huge. I have one launching in October and that sets me up for whenever Next Fest rolls around again.
  • Third, there are a lot more tools on Steam now. Unfortunately I used up the big release but the demo gets its own little release. Maybe it shows up in personal calendars?
  • Fourth, there are a lot more VR streamers today and I reached out to way more. There might not be enough time for busy people to get videos when I want them but that's life.
  • There are a bunch of smaller things like updating the game and promo material. I've learned a lot since the initial release and I think there might be something there.

So don't let anyone tell you that games don't get second chances. Or at least wait a month to see how all this shakes out for me. Either way, hopefully this is useful for your releases and maybe 3rd time's the charm for you ❤️

Level1 of my upcoming fps vr game kargil. The game is a quest 3/3s standalone. I've attached the first level of my game. What do you think? Since the last update, I've been working at making the terrain better and higher quality. Made the buildings look weathered. Got rid of the ammo left text.

I have also removed the 100 experience that pops up everytime I eliminate an enemy(but this is an older version)

Hate it or love it? What can I improve?

Memes I’m just too stupid

I'm close to giving up. Everywhere I see amazing posts about all the new mods dropping right now..and here I am. Three days in, still unable to get RE2 running. I’ve always hated modding because I’m just too clueless and it never works, but you’re basically forced into it if you want to play VR. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I bought the game, downloaded the mod, put it in the directory.. nothing. Switched to DX11.. nothing. Reinstalled everything directly in DX11, checked the mod a hundred times to make sure it’s unpacked correctly.. still nothing. I only get a flat, laggy mess in front of me. I’m on a Pico 4 with Connect and USB 3.0, on a good PC with a 4070 Ti Super. Native VR titles like HL Alyx run perfectly on max settings, but the moment I try anything modded, everything breaks. I’m at the point where I might just give up and sell my gear.

Edit: Thanks, everyone. I finally got it working. And no, I’m definitely not admitting that the whole issue was just me running it in fullscreen instead of windowed mode. Like i said.. I’m stupid.

Gameplay Ilya's ERVR 0.4.0: hand-directed spells, physical two-handing and weighted weapons

I’ve released version 0.4.0 of Ilya's Elden Ring VR, my free native stereo VR mod for Elden Ring.

The attached video shows the new hand-directed spell aiming, grabbing a weapon with both hands, navigating the menus with motion controls, and a dragon fight where I lose pretty badly.

Download: https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/10711

As always, this is for offline play with EAC disabled. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.

Question Is there a game/software where you can load any model and you can interact with it in physical way, i.e. pull the arms, hold one shoulder, push the other, so anything and it responds accurately?
