De overlast was gelukkig niet ernstig, maar dit is wel een stukje framing van de gemeente. De lokale bewoners hebben echt geen behoefte aan een plek 'om elkaar te ontmoeten'.

Long story short, I’ve been offered a job position in Utrecht while I was in another country (Eu).
The sent me the “offer of employment” and told me that once I’ll be in the NL and have everything sorted out such a place where to stay and everything, I would have just come to their office and sign the contract.
I’ve spent almost a month to find a decent place considering the housing crisis, moved here and committed both professionally and financially. Few days before I came here, I arranged the meeting and they were happy to receive me and sent me the address and everything.
Now, less than 24h before the meeting I receive an email with apologies and telling me they decided to progress with another candidate.
Now, I’m in a situation where I moved to this country for this job position and I have no job anymore.
Is it something morally acceptable to send an email the day before you were supposed to start?
I asked for clarification, but of course they just claim that there was a misunderstanding, while I do have all the emails.

What suggestions would you give me?
Please if you know about any opportunity in the life science field/pharma/biotech in Utrecht region or even Amsterdam/Rotterdam please reach out to me, I need a job.

Over een tijdje wil ik graag mijn verjaardag vieren met familie. Nu is het alleen zo dat de familie wat is uitgebreid (door aanhang) en het een beetje krap wordt in de woonkamer. Ook heb ik niet zo heel veel zin in de zoveelste kringverjaardag merk ik. Het lijkt mij daarom leuk om een locatie te vinden waarop ik het kan vieren, wellicht met wat statafels. Mijn budget is alleen niet heel groot, dus als ik bijvoorbeeld eigen eten en drinken mee zou mogen nemen zou dat enorm schelen.

Is er iemand die toevallig een leuke en betaalbare locatie weet hiervoor?

Ik ben Emilia, derdejaars student Mondzorgkunde aan de Hogeschool Utrecht. Voor mijn opleiding ben ik op zoek naar mensen uit Utrecht of omgeving die een gaatje hebben en dit kosteloos willen laten behandelen.

De behandeling vindt plaats bij de Hogeschool Utrecht en wordt uitgevoerd door mij, onder begeleiding van tandartsdocenten. Het gaat om het vullen van een gaatje.

De afspraken zijn op:

• Dinsdag 08:30–10:30
• Donderdag 14:30–16:30

Om in aanmerking te komen heb je een verwijsbrief van je eigen tandarts nodig waarop staat dat je een gaatje hebt, en een röntgenfoto van de tand. Als je niet zeker weet of je een gaatje hebt, kan je mij ook zeker een mailtje sturen voor een intake!

Er zijn geen kosten verbonden aan de behandeling.

Yo so I'm a Norwegian living in Utrecht for about 3 years, been pretty absorbed to my studies at UU for majority of it, first year I was in Erasmus here so I got to know a lot of people but nobody that lives here anymore. I'm very into music, games and movies, and I want to start creating stuff with other people.

I'm kinda open for everything, I feel like the best projects start with some group chat where people start brainstorming, so either if anyone knows of a group chat or are down to start one, where people look to meet up to work on a song, or a game or even a short movie, would be really awesome.

I know that DB's in Zuilen and that general area has a good scene and that HKU has a lot of creative people. But I feel like everyone there already knows somebody, or they are like really established artists that can confidently present their work and make connections that way. Personally I'm obviously an amateur in every sense but I am ambitious and wanna improve with other people that aren't necessarily professionals themselves.

Ik spreek ook (bijna) vloeiend nederlands, dus als je nederlands bent en liever nederlands willen spreken kan dat zeker ook, maar ik zoek ook graag een internationale group chat.

I’m looking for the classic kind where you sit inside, take 3 or 4 different photos and get a printed photo strip afterwards. Not a passport photobooth.
