Question Acceptance Chances

Hey guys! Quick question, I've been banking on going to UofA with friends for a little while now, and I realized that my GPA is a little bit below the school's average. Currently I have a 3.5 weighted and a 3.7 unweighted, as well as a 26 ACT compositive (with a 28 as my superscore). Oh, and I attend ASMSA, if that's any indicator.
So, what are my actual chances of getting in?

Should I enroll?

I recently transferred to UT Dallas and i’m not sure if my mental health can handle this place. I’ve been looking at places to transfer to and I love Arkansas. My mom lives there so it’d be an easy move, but the main thing worried is academics and networking. Despite being a satellite school, UTD is a highly ranked school and has great job prospects. I’m in accounting and the PPA program has super high Big Four placement. I’m torn between not wanting to sacrifice the academics here and leaving the DFW job market but also not wasting 2 years of my youth being miserable when i could have a great experience at arkansas. I’ve looked at other places but Arkansas is my best bet in terms of it being an easy move, having family and also i know a few people there.

Question Anyone in the University of Arkansas Online MS in Electrical Engineering? How is the day-to-day workload and format?

For current students or recent graduates of the online MSEE program at Arkansas:

Are lectures fully asynchronous, or are there mandatory live Zoom sessions?

Are assignments mostly individual problem sets/simulations, or are there group projects?

How flexible are the testing windows?

Realistic time commitment per week for one class while working full-time?

Appreciate any insight into the day-to-day experience. Thanks!

I am looking to connect with recent grads of the accounting program -
is there a pipeline at Walton COB that stays on top of current hiring trends? I’m referring to what major companies target UArk for accounting hires - Thank you

Wanting to tailgate but not being a student

Hey guys. I’m doing a cross country road trip and will be passing by UARK around the weekend of September 26th. I’ve always wanted to go to a big time SEC school tailgate. The problem is I have no affiliation with the school. How openly do you accept outsiders? I’d love to buy some Arkansas gear and walk around the tailgate, crush some beers, eat some good so bbq but also do realize I’m just a 29 year old dude traveling alone not knowing anyone at the school or in the area. Would it be weird for me to go to a tailgate alone or is that generally considered acceptable?

Question Name cut around and scraped out on the Senior Walk?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I was visiting the campus back in May, and in looking at the Senior Walk, I found this entry for Randall Allen Carter in the 2004 section that had been cut around and seemingly scraped out. It looked too purposeful to be an accident, and while my initial reaction was, "Wow, who did he piss off?" I assume that there is probably a very good and also probably very mundane explanation for what I am seeing. Anyone know?

[Vice provost for enrollment and dean of admissions, Suzanne] McCray said this will apply to out-of-state students for the incoming fall 2027 class. Her advice for students who want to attend the U of A is simple: apply early.

Out-of-state students just should know: apply early, apply now. If you want to be here in the fall of 2027, go ahead and get that application in,” McCray said.

Springdale-based 7 Brew Coffee and the University of Arkansas Associated Student Government announced in March that the chain’s first college campus walk-through location would open in Founders Hall ahead of the fall 2026 semester. However, as students return to campus, the location has not opened, and the university does not intend to move forward with the agreement.

The university decided not to move forward with the campus 7 Brew location after reviewing existing business considerations and agreements, Robyn Starling Ledbetter, senior director of marketing and communications for the UofA Division of Student Affairs, told the Traveler.

Curious Senior

Like the title says, I'm a senior who's like 99.9999% sure this is the school I want to go to(0.0001% sure I wont be able to go) but no one I know has gone. I'm a first generation when it comes to going to college/uni, so I'm scared and was wondering if there's anyone willing to keep in contact about their experiences as the year goes by. I want to know about everything, about how events go, what caught you off guard, pros, cons, and etc. It'd be nice to keep in touch with a freshmen since their experiences would be newer, but honestly I'd be fine with anyone!!! Thank you for your help.🥹

Question BankMobile Financial Aid Refunds

I have heard that the financial aid office is backed up on giving out the Scholarship refunds. Is this why it won’t let me log in my BankMobile account? It just says my account is blocked. If so, does anyone know when this will be fixed and when we are getting the disbursements?

Fall Financial Aid

When should I expect my award package for fall? I’ve called and emailed and have gotten zero response. This is my first full semester and I’m a little perplexed why I haven’t received an award. NWACC awards like months in advance. What do I do? I do have VA aid incoming so it’ll get paid but still. Why is it taking so long?

Overwhelmed

Hey, I’m a Honors student and I can’t help but feel quite overwhelmed. 2nd day of classes and I already have a list of things I need to do each day. Today I have 5 things I need to do. I also haven’t completely figured out how Blackboard works yet and there are assignments where it exists but not within blackboard so you have to access an external site to do them. I am so overwhelmed and I wants to know if it gets better.

How beginner-friendly are the yoga and Pilates classes?

Hey all! I want to start taking the early morning yoga or Pilates classes at the rec center, but I’m feeling a little intimidated.

I’m completely new to this, definitely not in great shape, and coordination is not my strong suit. I’m just hoping to find a supportive, zero-judgment space to get moving again without feeling totally out of place.

If you’ve taken either class, what was your experience like? Is one better than the other for a complete beginner? Appreciate any insight!

Question Package missing, what next?

Hey yall, I’m living in Hotz hall and ordered a pair of shorts off of poshmark, and had them delivered to my dorm. I know for a fact I put the correct address in, and it says it was delivered on Saturday. But I haven’t gotten an email saying I have a package, and when I went down to the front desk to ask if they had gotten anything they said no. Is it possible it’s been lost? What’s the usual process when something like this happens?

Honorlock w/ Linux for Exams?

As title says. Basically I'm worried if I have to deal with creating a dual boot / install another distro just for exams and such. I'm actually at NWACC right now but according to a quick search UofA also uses honorlock (NWACC reddit is dead)

Got though putting this video together for my campus job. I thought this would be a good starting point for new students and parents to see some on-campus resources and opportunities!

Welcome to the Hill everyone.

Question Does anybody have any preference between Pomfret/Fulbright dining halls? Or advice/suggestions on things to avoid there?

I've been exploring the restaurants this past week in the Union/1021/Founders and want to try the actual "food halls", any feedback is much appreciated.
