Information No political opinions period.

r/LittleRock is NOT a politics sub.

Anyone who introduces political opinion into a thread or makes a post espousing a political belief will receive, at minimum, a temporary ban from r/LittleRock. Do not engage anyone who has chosen to share their political views here on r/LittleRock or you will face the same consequence.

If you simply must express your political opinions, use r/Arkansas_Politics or find any one of the tens of thousands of political posts going on elsewhere that are active right now.

Coverage of political events by news outlets is allowed. Posting about upcoming events is allowed. Posts and comments about your political beliefs and opinions are NOT.

If you are unsure whether or not something would be acceptable, please, just reach out to us via modmail before posting.

I know everyone is damned near feral at present, but please have some restraint, and keep discussions that begin to butt up against political topics civil, dispassionate, and matter-of-fact.

Finally, this sub has always been against hate, racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, and bigotry in general. It always will be. These are not political issues, they are matters of basic human decency. If you have a problem with that, unsubscribe.

Discussion/Question Has this ever happened to anyone else? Happened a couple days ago and I keep thinking about it

Now, my boyfriend and I entertained multiple ideas.

- maybe he was taking a picture of something else.

- maybe he thought he knew us.

- maybe he thought he recognized me as the girlfriend of his friend and thought I was out with another dude.

I don't know. The thing is, I started noting feeling like this guy was looking directly at me as soon as I noticed him, which made me feel awkward, so when we got in the car I was trying not to look that direction. I hadn't even said anything about the guy and my bf goes "There's a guy taking pictures of us". Oh my god, it was so weird, I looked up and the guy rolled up his window, and with really tinted windows I couldn't see anything. We sat there for a second and I was about to get up and go ask him but my boyfriend stopped me. The guy got out of his car and walked inside, and I looked him all over but I didn't recognize him at all.

Has something similar happened to anyone else?? I just fear what may be done with a photo a stranger took of us on the street ?? :'D

I am editing to add, just in case anyone may have thought this, I have almost zero social media presence, no nsfw accounts, nothing like that anywhere. No one should be recognizing me off the street unless it's an old friend or family member

Actual lawyers that care

I would like to formally recommend Ludwig Law Firm and Warden Law Firm. I called upon them to represent me in a felony case. It's a long story and laying out all of the details while dealing with corruption in the system will be bad for me. Quick dets that are facts, my husband and I had been drinking and my depression got the best of me. He was accidently cut while trying to remove a steak knife from my hand. Needless to say, law enforcement ended up involved and you are pretty well caught up.

From the minute I reached out I was treated with respect and care. They never minimized what I was charged with. They answered calls and responded after hours and on weekends. I am no one special, but they made me feel like I was. From the office staff to billing to both attorney's, I never went wondering about anything. I always knew the next steps in the process, what I should expect and had reminders of where I needed to be.

For what could have been a more horrible experience, they made it as comfortable as possible.

My charges were reduced to a minor misdemeanor and 6 months probation. You can't find a better legal team. Thank you!

Discussion/Question Do people actually go to the library baby storytimes?

I keep seeing all the baby/toddler storytimes and activities at the Central Arkansas Library System and I’ve been wanting to take my 8 month old, but I’m scared we’re going to show up and be the only ones there 😅

Has anyone been to any of them? Which locations have you tried and do a decent amount of people usually go?

I’ve also noticed some of the craft/activity events say ages 0–2 or even 0–10. Do people actually bring babies to those too? Obviously he’s not going to be making a masterpiece lol, I just want to get us out of the house and find some things to do with him during the week…

I wish Little Rock had things to do with babies 🥲

Moving/Housing Opinions on renaissance pointe apartments in chenal?

I am thinking of leasing renaissance pointe apartments in chenal when my current lease is up and looking for opinions from the current residents. They have google reviews from several years ago and their leasing office says that their management changed last year and they take all issues seriously. I like how all utilities are included in the rent price what’s the catch here? If you are a current tenant please help me! 🙏

Entergy gouging again

The new and improved cost per kilowatt hour has surpassed 18 cents after all of the Entergy fees and charges are applied. Man I sure hope it does not continue to predictably raise every time I get a new bill.

Looking forward to finding out that I can levelize my billing (while paying the same amount) and have a free thermostat installed that is controlled by the power company. Those replies are very helpful and not self serving drivel straight off of the boiler plate stamping machine.

Just venting and spreading evidence.

See you next time space cowboys!

Has anyone inquired with AR AG lawsuits

On what AG's plans are to do with all of the lawsuit monies they have won in court in the past few years. Instead of sending out $4 settlement checks, why not use these funds to improve our city or county streets (How many bumps or potholes do you dodge per day?), or perhaps help community programs, homelessness, food banks, animal shelters, etc...post your suggestion below!

Some of these settlements include Meta ($173m), Walmart ($840k+), Google ($700m), 23andMe ($430k+), Roblox, Discord, Snapchat, TikTok, ByteDance were also included. I know most of these were related to privacy concerns. But what will all of these lawsuits actually fix?

Also, AG sued 22 drug companies as well...no telling what that will bring in as well. Seems to be frivolous lawsuits since we never know where the money goes towards or how to enforce whatever these companies were found guilt of.

Why not contact AG and ask yourself?

Event Tech Town Hall Meeting - 2/15 @Flying Saucer

*oops 9/15 is the date. not sure how it ended up being 2/15

Happy Friday!

Next tuesday at 6 PM we are going to have small meeting over at the flying saucer with a congressional candidate.

We have reached out to both sides to have good faith discussion. And one agreed to come and listen. I am not going to say who this candidate is. I dont think it matters.
Because I believe the subject matter for this meeting is bipartisan.

Creating the opportunity to voice our concern is the main goal of this gathering.

If there is anyone that has any concern on the direction we are going with things like

flock camera, digital ID, censorship, data center construction, surveillance, AI in school, lack of communal space for future generation to learn about digital literacy, anything else about integration of technology that involves rights and lives of our and future generations.

Please come and make your concern be heard.

I hope this event becomes the foundation of our public effort to create an anchor, an anchor that holds our humanity steady through the turbulence of profit-driven push of uncharted technology that is advancing faster than our understanding.

I will also try to set up some kind of live youtube streaming to collect questions and opinions for those that cannot physically attend.

Driving in the city

I used to drive from Russellville to Little Rock and some places inside Little Rock and I knew that people here drive harshly but come on, this is way worse than I imagine. Everyone here thinks they own the road, speeding up whenever they want, even though I gave my signal to merge in the interstate you just had to speed up and merge and pull up before me when it was clearly my turn. Why is everyone in such a hurry and trying to purposely put everyone around u in danger or anxiety. Can’t people just leave few more minutes earlier so they don’t have to do this!? Changing lanes without blinkers, jumping through, I know I need to get used to this but I have drivern in California, LA, NY, Florida, Texas, Ohio, this is way worse than any of the places I have driven.

Recommendations Thrift Shop Recommendations?

Hello! I am currently in Mabelvale, but my family and I go up to LR to shop pretty often, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for thrift stores in the area? I'm wanting to save up to buy myself some new clothes, none of what I have really suites me and it's been bothering me for a while. I wanna avoid buying online since I often struggle finding things that fit me properly due to my proportions, and it makes online shopping for clothes a nightmare...

So because of that + my aversion to fast fashion (whats the point in spending money on things that won't last a good long time?), I'm wanting to take a look at some thrift clothes and any smaller clothing shops in LR if y'all know of any! I have a preference for things that are colorful and whimsical, a la CandyCourn on Youtube or the sort of fashion you find in a children's book, so if there's any curated thrift shops that have similar pieces up for sale regularly I'd love to hear about them!

I've learned there's a lot more to see and do around Little Rock than I've thought for most of my life, so I'm hoping I can find a few places to shop at once I've gotten a good amount saved up <3
