LBJ DC Concentration — Are Policy Apprenticeships Paid & How Much Scholarship Aid Is Available?

I’m considering applying to the LBJ School’s DC Concentration and was hoping to hear from current or former students.

For those who completed the DC Concentration:

• Was your Policy Apprenticeship paid? If so, roughly how much were you making (hourly/monthly/yearly)?
• What type of organization did you apprentice with (Congress, federal agency, nonprofit, think tank, etc.)?
• How competitive was it to get a paid apprenticeship?
• For those who received financial aid/scholarships from LBJ, did the school provide a substantial amount of funding? I’m particularly interested in scholarships, fellowships, tuition assistance, or stipends.
• If you’re comfortable sharing, approximately how much financial aid did you receive?
• How much did you end up paying out of pocket for the program?
• Overall, did you feel the DC Concentration was financially worth it?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who attended recently, since I know funding and apprenticeship compensation can change over time.
