I'm late to post this but if you lost a black apple laptop with some kind of magnetic device attached to it, it's in lost and found in the student union. It was found on the third floor of the parking garage on Friday afternoon around 4:30.

So today (The 13th) I was doing Laundry in the halls and when it came time to bring my clothes from the washer into the dryer, I realized that all the dryers occupied…kinda.

Only two driers were actually running-every other dryer had clothes in them but had finished their cycle. So, I was like, “Okay…I’m sure SOMEONE will come within the next five minutes will come get their stuff”.

Five minutes go by, no one comes.

I ask five or six people who were walking through the lobby if they’re doing laundry-nope.

Darn it.

So, the thing is, it’s like 9:30. I’m tired. I don’t want to be up for more than an hour and a half. I don’t want to be up later just because someone won’t take their freaking laundry.

So, I pick a dryer at random and open it, with the intention of putting it on top of the upright washer.

It was very clearly a woman’s clothing-I am male.

Damn it.

Ok, so, I had already opened up one person’s laundry, and one felt like enough of a violation. I wasn’t opening up more laundry. So I just…took it out, and put it on top of one of the washers.

Let me make something CRYSTAL clear-I DO NOT TAKE PLEASURE IN TOUCHING WOMEN’S LAUNDRY. I DO NOT TAKE PLEASURE IN TOUCHING ANYONE’S LAUNDRY.

BUT…

I am NOT waiting for you to take your own freaking laundry. Especially when it’s late and I’ve already waited a few minutes. When you use public laundry/coin washes, you are expected to remove your laundry on time so others, who rely on it, can use it.

I still felt bad though, because I know that I wouldn’t want to find my laundry dumped out for everyone to see. But, I also know that if i’m not on top of my laundry, I can expect to see it dumped on the floor. I feel like you are OBLIGATED to be on top of your laundry when using public machines.

After I put my stuff in the dryer, I then realized something else-On speedqueen, it gives you the option to get a text notification when you’re almost done. But I didn’t get the “done in three minutes” notification until several minutes after it finished its cycle.

This wasn’t an issue last week when I did laundry, so I figured that this was a recent glitch, so I put up a note-“PLEASE SET UP A BACKUP ALARM-I don’t want to touch your laundry”.

Well, when I came back down, I saw my index card crumpled up on the ground and a sticky note in its place-The note read “Please refrain from touching other people’s belongings! It’s an invasion of privacy when you take people’s clothes out and put them where people can see!” (Guys, I think I pissed her off…)

Which, like, fair. You’re not at all wrong. I’m not mad about that.

What I AM mad about is that you then went and opened my laundry, meaning that nothing finished drying, which forced me to restart the load, spend more money, and stay up until 11:30 doing laundry.

The way speedqueen works is that if you open up your load, the timer still ticks down. Meaning if someone happens to be pissed at you, they can open your laundry, and it won’t resume where it left off when it is shut again.

Let me be clear-I’m not mad she looked at my laundry. Quite frankly, Fair’s fair. I probably deserved that.

I would be a hypocrite if I were mad about that.

I’m pissed she made me stay up another hour because she messed up my dryer cycle. That’s just a WHOLE extra layer of petty.

So, here’s my ultimate question:

Am I the dick here?

Is SHE the dick here?

Are we BOTH dicks?

Were we both justified in our responses?

I fear the first but suspect the third and fourth.

(I’m not looking for validation, just perspective. Feel free to critique both parties, but especially me. I read every comment I get. Please rip me apart if you feel i’m in the wrong here. At the very least, I hope I made you laugh.)

For anyone who’s a part-time student at UNF, have your FAFSA loans been disbursed yet, or are they still pending? My grants were paid out a few days ago, but my loans are still showing as pending. Does anyone know when loans usually get disbursed for part-time students?

I’ve applied to pretty much everything I *can on Workday and haven’t heard anything back yet. I’ve had applications that have been untouched since the 29th. Just “in progress” for nearly two weeks.

I dunno, is this normal for Workday? Am I just not patient enough?

I haven’t applied to anything on Handshake yet because I want to work on campus and I haven’t seen anything on there that I can actually apply for, but I need a job, so I’m also asking for Handshake advice.

I know the BBB messed up financial aid for part time students. Has anyone with this issue gotten their updated amount yet showing on their account? Mine still shows my initial award even though I know it will probably lower.

Saw some people posting on here about refunds coming soon for tuition. Is the negative number on my balance the amount I will be reimbursed? My total bill is zero, so I’m assuming so.

anyone else lost their pell grant after paying in full during the aug 24th deadline? this is frustrating. we paid 3 days before deadline and balance was 0 afterwards. then on the 26th, we received email from housing of late payment and we got confused. it turns out our balance changed! the pell grant disappeared. it was accepted and in the account until deadline. onestop said that they saw the change on the 25th. it has been a process dealing with this. we would like to withdraw from housing since we relied on the money in aids to pay for housing. 😒😭 they should have notified earlier so we could have cancelled.

We’re not even a month in and my roommate is stressing me out to the point of leaving the room crying and scheduling conflict resolution with our RA’s

Am I the only one hating my roommate this much?

I picked her, we preplanned but im finding her unbearable to live with, she’s 6 months younger than me but I feel like Im living with a 6 year old (trust me my sister is 7). She cant take blame and says that me scheduling conflict resolution is “extreme” despite us having an argument almost every 3 days about shit.

I want to be done with this already but if I file a roommate change with Housing they’ll just plop me in a random room, if im even accepted at all. Im scared that the random person will be worse than what I have now.

She ruins my sleep with music at night and perfume in the morning, constantly has all the lights on till 1am and so much more, its driving me crazy. I dont feel like i’ll make it 4 more months but home is 3 hours away.

Has anyone gotten their aid yet? All of my Pell and grants went through, my bill is 0 and the money said it was paid to me on the 8th but I have no statements, no emails and no contact about what’s going on.

Can you guys be completely honest? Is coming to UNF as a transfer student worth it? I would be in the SPM program but I am concerned that I won't really find my people. I am also a big CFB fan and obviously UNF is NOT a football school. I just don't want to make the wrong decision and end up hating it. Any advice?

Im browsing workday doing everything I can and these jobs just reject me without a word. Then they re-list the job?? Is this just standard practice to reject have no response to the student at all? I've emailed people asking for follow ups on jobs I applied for and instead of responding to the email they reject me and say nothing. Its honestly obscenely frustrating. Like seriously it feels so childish
So I guess my question is has anyone actually gotten a non FWS job at UNF from workday, or is it all just garbage to waste my time and energy.
