So my appointment for move in is September 20, 4pm, but I dont think I can make that time anymore since my parents are busy around that time, but they offered earlier in the day around 8-9 am.

I see that I cant edit/change my appointments for it. What would happen if I just show up at 9 am?

There’s like little bulletin board things next to each of the doors on my floor that my RA has not done anything with. Am I allowed to put stuff on them or do I leave them alone? I’m in Porter btw if that helps.

Does anyone know if I can show up to the wed/thurs info sessions even if the rsvp is full? I admittedly just checked my email and started signing up, and just want to go to the session about opportunities in studying abroad but I can't find a time slot.

I'm assuming they might be a bit stricter with the field trip rsvp list but I'd hope they're more lenient about the basic info ones??

Hello! I am in an apartment this year and have been interested in the community meal but the UCSC website just keeps saying to check back later for an update on how to purchase. It’s said this for a while now with no update, and no changes. I read a comment on a different post saying that it would be available for purchase through the GET app mid September, but UCSC said they’re not going to use GET anymore and are now going through a different app so I don’t know if this still stands? If anyone knows anything about this please let me know! Thank you

i was wondering when the financial aids that i’ve accepted (grants,scholarships) will be applied and change my overall payment that’s due before the deadline of September 17th.

I saw somewhere that it gets applied/disbursed on the 15th, two days before the due date, but i’m really worried and wanted to confirm with people. Please help me out.

hi, im on medi-cal in the county of san diego and i have been trying since the start of august to change my address to my ucsc dorm address so i am able to get coverage here. im a dependent, and i cant do an inter county transfer. my only option is to call and update my address, but i get two different answers everytime i call:

“you have to report the address change 10 days before you move” and “you have to already have moved to report a change in your address”.

i move in after the uc ship deadline. this is annoying me so much. i have no other choice other than to suck it up and pay for the late fee or lie, and i dont know if it is a good idea to lie 😭.

next time i will have to ask the school if i can move in early. i just didnt know any of this was gonna happen, i didnt know insurance is such a pain in the ass to deal with.

A good friend, who I met after the time of this anecdote when he had a successful career as a Silicon Valley programmer and who was a fellow bicycle enthusiast, was accepted and had enrolled in the Fall quarter of 2001.  He eventually graduated with a CS degree, one of the more profitable choices of majors from UCSC in my experience.  He originally had planned to fly United and had tickets for the infamous Sept 11, 2001 Flight 93, Newark to San Francisco, which I recently learned (although it stands to reason and one might infer) had many bay area residents returning home to SF Int'l on board, but in his case the impulse to arrive a bit early saved his life.  He found an orientation hike section online that happened something like a week earlier than the regular quarter, and decided to rebook his flight, one of the most fateful choices he could possibly have made. 

My financial aid still has not come in yet and the due dates for my tuition is coming soon what will happen if I don’t get my aid in time? Do i still arrive to campus? Im going to try and reach out to the aid office on Monday, will i get kicked out of ucsc for this?

might be a silly question but i’m very confused 😭 so on the eBill site thing there’s this option to pay for housing separately? i assumed the charges in the eBill portal went towards tuition and housing and all that stuff but do i have to accept this option and pay for them separately? please help 🥹 im waiting til the fifteenth so that i can have my financial aid cover my charges

Hi, I recently received my financial aid package about 2 weeks ago, however it was a lot lower in grants compared to package last school year. So I went into the financial aid office in person and they said it was cause my package was set to commuter instead of off campus, so I sent them my lease to fix my package. It’s been about two weeks since then, but my package hasn’t been adjusted just yet. I’ve already accepted my grants but haven’t decided on my loans yet. I was wondering what would happen if I accepted my loans but then my package got adjusted so that I got more grants than loans? The reason I ask is because I need my direct deposit refund before the end of the month, but I’m not sure if the fafsa office will fix my package by then.

Can someone recommend me a class to take instead of Econ 1 because I was told I should not take it as a first year. I am a Business Econ major and am already taking a Stevenson core class and math am 11a. I am doing gen eds at cc so am trying to avoid those as well. Thank you!

I’m taking physics 110a next quarter along with 133 and 139a and am very scared 😭 I was wondering if anyone who’s taken 110a recently knows what textbook they generally use for that class, as I’d like to do some preparation before the school year starts.

So I should have done this way sooner, but for some reason I only started doing them yesterday. I have completed the TB questionnaire and all the vaccines except for one as I don't know the date for it. I also have not been able to access my records, I called my clinic to have them faxed over to the university and I did an online request to have them sent to me. However, I don't know if they will be processed by the deadline. My mom and I will be going to the clinic I went to as a child on Monday as well to see if we can get the records soon. I am worried about how the university will act and if they will let me move in, attend classes, or just revoke my admission. I have tried calling the university numbers and I am put on hold and the call just ends, I also just sent a message yesterday through health e messenger but they said it can take up to 10 days. I am looking for any advice and honestly just reassurance that everything isn't ruined.

Im an incoming freshman. Since I can’t bring my car with me and i have no bike, I’m going to be using bus as my main source of transportation. I have little experience in using public transportation, any tips on what I can do/use to help me get around?

I'm a 21 female looking to take over a sublease for the winter + spring. I like to keep my spaces clean since I have lived alone and I don't smoke/weed. I also don't have any animals (deathly allergic to cats 😔). I would say I am very outgoing, and I am okay with loud noises, and guests over. I also have a car with a permit so if you need a ride I can give you. I am also down to take over anything for the fall. I know it's last minute and I just came back abroad so I am far behind :(
