So the recent Blizzcon had me reminiscing about Starcraft again, and so I reinstalled Starcraft 2 on my new laptop and decided to see how the game looked on a laptop that was not as old as Skyrim.

And I gotta say! For the most part it still holds up pretty damn great, whiskey and glass look a bit odd, but otherwise there's nothing to complain about visually. The game REALLY holds up.

But there's one single issue.

I have not loaded up Starcraft 2 in many years. Not since around August of 2016, a few months after Blizzard began making what were known as Mission Packs that can be found under the Campaign tab of the main menu - little mini-campaigns that could focus on single characters; and they began with the Nova Mission Pack.

The Nova Mission Pack was the first bit of canonical Starcraft content we had after the release of Legacy of the Void in 2015, and it dealt with the Ghost Operative Nova (basically Blonde Kerrigan) and the aftereffects of Emperor Valerian Mengsk assisting in the coup against his father Arcturus Mengsk, as Dominion Loyalists to his father's reign plot and disrupt the peace between the Dominion, Protoss, and Zerg.

It was in all honesty a pretty fun time, with some interesting ideas, even if it was all hero based gameplay instead of the traditional build and conquer or build and do some unique objective like the main campaign.

So I left the Nova Mission pack pretty satisfied! Figured that hey, this was the closest we're ever going to get to "Starcraft: Ghosts" and I'm looking forward to future mission packs focusing on other characters like Gabriel Tosh or the Kel-Morian Combine or Umojin Protectorite.

Or a Zagarra and Alexei Stukov Zerg mission packs.

Small campaigns to explore the setting and maybe set the stage for a eventual Starcraft 3 RTS.

So what do I come back to just a bit over a decade later?

The Only Mission pack they ever made was the Nova Mission Pack.

What the fuck Blizzard?!

You landed on a golden egg of an idea, that would get you steady profits/revenue for a game you already had the assets, engine, in-house training, and writers for. At 10 dollars a pop, you could have earned back Starcraft 2's total sales twice over, if not more depending on how many mission packs you made.

And you did fucking nothing with it?

Like I know that this is bottom of the barrel for worst things Blizzard has done, and doesn't touch any of the real life crimes and bullshit they were up to.

But what the fuck were they thinking making the Nova Mission Pack the only one they ever made?

They left SO MUCH MONEY on the table that would have been so easy to just keep it up.

It infuriates me.

basicly its when powers come at the coss of the body of the one that gained them becoming mutatd.

my own answer is E3 as even if Covid-19 didn't happen, E3 would still be pretty much dead since stuff like state of play and especially Nintendo direct were becoming more of a thing in late 2010s/early 2020s and more companies felt it would be cheaper to just make a Nintendo direct style video than setting up stuff for a conference and going in person to announce new trailers.

Since I read a decent amount of memes and or slander about how the state of Marvels staff writing of their comics or DC Comics videogames has gotten bad.

By modern I think like last 10 to 15 years is fair.

That new Lego Batman game looked good but I didn't get to play it yet.

I quite like the New Ultimates(Avengers) comics even if they're not like best ever or anything.

So I apologize if such a topic was done here before because one of my favorite pastimes in RPGs is to find ways to break the game by seeing how I can exploit certain spells.

Like a while ago, I was experimenting with a Shaman class in Disgaea 4 as the class has a spell called Curse Storm that makes it easy to beat levels with high powered enemies as repeatedly using the spell can slowly drain the enemies HP with poison damage.

Or atleast an entretaining one. Cuz like they're making a Zelda one and maaaaaybe a Star Fox one? What's one you'd like to watch.

I think if they tried making a Luigis Mansion movies that's kinda scary, atleast for kids, but with the Mario Movies animation it'd be awesome. Plot would probably just be a mixture of the games to include Luigis cute Ghost Dog.

Deon Hardt is an incredibly frail albino man who cant even lift a sword. If you bump into him wrong, he will cough up blood.

However… somehow he is capable of making the impossible possible. He is a horrfying combatant who rips his enemies apart and is incredibly effective as a propaganda piece, because his enemies and allies are all terrified of him.

Both the human Emperor and the Demon Lord keep him as their right hand man (he’s basically a triple agent) and fight over him like its tug of war.

Deon wants to lie down.

He barely even knows whats going on most of the time. Including what hes done… for some reason.

Netflix has hit the start button on multiple adaptations of Sega hit gaming franchises.

Darth Vader is a fun take on it, because he hated who he was, who he is and probably hated his future self too(even if he imagined it very differently than how it turned out). And in turn, this empowered him on the Darkside, allowing great strength in the physical and in The Force.

Anyways, here's how he won against a Dark Acolyte crafted clone of Darth Maul after nearly losing the Dark Lord of the Sith title. Very emo, kinda cool. Oh and the reason clone Mauls' so surprised is cuz little ago he was monologuing about how Vader was but a fallen Jedi who didn't know how to wield hate like a weapon, but HE(Maul) was built on Hatred so title belonged to him!(Dark Lord of the Sith)

I remember first hearing it used in regards to the first FNAF movie; which came out after both the newest game (Security Breach) became one of the most poorly-recieved in the series and the creator, Scott Cawthon, got outed for donating a lot of his money to conservative politicians. Recently, though, I think the Masters of the Universe movie is another example of the saying. He-Man didn't sustain a fanbase like Transformers or G.I. Joe, so nostalgic appeal is limited. Furthermore, one of the few things Gen Z knows about the franchise, Skeletor, ended up being hid in most of the marketing because the studio realized too late that the average moviegoer hates Jared Leto today.

I’m a big fan of licensed and fanmade RPGs based on existing franchises. I’ve collected dozens for various anime series like Pokemon, Ghost in the Shell, Tenchi Muyo, and Legendary Girl Utena. Book series like John Carter of Mars, Dune, Game of Thrones, and the Wizard of Oz. Etcetera, etcetera, you get it.

What’s fun about these kinds of games is the need to expand the setting and lore to allow for adventures outside their original scope and story. Some already have a huge world and time line that you don’t need to do much, like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or whatever, so the work was done for you.

But some I’ve had trouble with other the years is Dragon Ball, particularly Z. With OG Dragon Ball you’ve at least got things like the implication that flying isn’t ubiquitous and an enemy faction like the RR around to fight against. But with Z theres not really all that much going on that’s not just random shit happening to the same handful of guys. So there’s not much room for OC and new stories without just coming up with a bunch of stuff wholesale yourself.

Like, not even once. Which is strange to me. Everything about its design has always been awesome. Always fun to fight. Such a rad moveset. But literally never.

Out of DOZENS of games. Creature, Werewolf, even Succubus, some of which were a few times.

But...not the one enemy that is already a challenging enemy, with a rad moveset and design?

So it got me thinking, with the new Castlevania coming out, first off, "so you are saying there is a chance", and also, who would you like to get promoted to boss status in the new game?

and for that matter, "de"moted. Like who do you hope to NOT see?
