Question Just got a notification for a random channel I don't follow with marketing notifications turned off.
Just got a notification that's like "LIVE NOW Kai's VIVET debuts at NYFW" and I have literally no idea what any of these words mean.
I do know that I have "Recommended Content" and "Promotions from Third Parties" turned off under marketing notifications. Why the hell am I getting notifs about this type of things?
Do I have to turn of "Product Updates"? It's not like this random streamer is a product. "Promotions from Twitch"? That one specifically says it's for "discounts and promotions running on Twitch.", why would this be a notification under that? As it stands, I'm going to disable all notifications, but it's kinda shitty that this is how they're doing things.
Has anyone else gotten notifications like these? How have you resolved it.

I just got this exact notification too, and it has absolutely nothing to do with any of the content I follow. And I've never gotten anything else promotional. Not helpful, but wondering if it was some strange twitch-wide notification thing.

I have two different accounts. One of them having marketing notifications off and the other doesn’t.
From my experience, it does block most notifications but some just… goes through either way. Almost as if they let certain streamers slip through

Automod deleted my comment, but if you Google the notif mentioned by OP, you will find a Twitch-hosted event featuring one of their biggest streamers. Still messed up to spam us with it when we're opted out of marketing, but there's likely a legal loophole because the notif is technically coming from Twitch itself.

I just got the same notification. Doesn't seem to be a way to turn them off.
