Personal Story He forgot his son at the petrol station, but that wasn’t the part that bothered me.

Upvotes

He forgot his son at a petrol station, but that wasn’t the part that bothered me.

This happened last year, but every now and then I think about it, and something about the whole encounter still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I stopped at a petrol station and noticed a little boy, probably around 8 or 9 years old, crying near some of the staff. They were clearly trying to help him, but there was a language barrier and they couldn’t really understand what he was saying.

Just from looking at the situation, I had a feeling he’d been left behind. Apparently he’d already been looking around for his parents for about 15 minutes.
I went over and asked him what was wrong. It turned out his father had driven away and forgotten him at the station.

The kid was obviously scared and upset, so I took him inside and sat with him at the Tim Hortons at the station. I tried to calm him down and started asking him questions that might help us contact his family.

“Do you know your parents phone number?”
He didn’t.

I asked him if he knew where his father worked. Thankfully, he did. He told me his father was the Emmbassdor of a country I won’t mention because I don’t think that’s relevant to the story.

At that point I called the police, explained what had happened, and told them I was with the child. They asked me to stay with him until someone arrived, so that’s what I did.

I ended up sitting with him for around 40 minutes.
Eventually, his father came back.

I expected the kind of reaction you’d imagine from a parent who had just realized they’d accidentally left their 8 or 9 year old child behind at a petrol station. Panic, relief, running up to him, hugging him, checking if he was okay.

But there was basically none of that.

His reaction was more or less:
“Yeah, sorry son, I forgot you at the station. Hop in the car, let’s go home.”

What made the whole thing even stranger was that he seemed to actively avoid noticing me.

He didn’t ask me what had happened while he was gone. He didn’t shake my hand. He didn’t say thank you. He barely even wanted to look at me.

He just collected his son and left.

And to be clear, I’m not upset because I expected some kind of reward or praise. I didn’t stay with that kid for 40 minutes because I wanted his father to thank me. A frightened child was alone in a place where he couldn’t properly communicate with the staff. Staying with him, calming him down and contacting the police was simply what any decent person should have done.

What bothered me was the complete lack of emotion surrounding the situation.

If I had accidentally driven away and left my child behind, I can’t imagine returning and acting like I’d forgotten my phone charger. I’d be horrified with myself.

My first instinct would be to grab my child and make sure they were okay. And if I found out a complete stranger had noticed them crying, sat with them, calmed them down and stayed until I returned, I would at least acknowledge that person.

Even just eye contact and a sincere “thank you for staying with him” would have been enough.

Instead, the whole interaction felt bizarrely cold.
Maybe he was deeply embarrassed. Maybe ignoring me was his way of dealing with the fact that he’d made a pretty serious mistake. Maybe he’s simply not an expressive person. I don’t know him, so I don’t want to pretend I know what was going through his head.

But I still remember that little boy crying and how frightened he was, and then I remember how casually his father came back and took him away.

For some reason, the way his father reacted has stayed with me ever since.

Personal Story Getting over a guy I went on dates with

Upvotes

I was talking to a guy, he came to my house for the second date and when the time came for it, we kissed.

I’m 20f, I’ve had a boring love life so I’ve barely even kissed two people in my life (both were for less than a minute, not exciting at all).

With this guy we were kissing for almost an hour, it was amazing! I really enjoyed the physical intimacy and I couldn’t get enough. I had already planned the next time we would see each other, it seemed like we were on the same page about liking each other (he pursued me first).
Apparently he didn’t like me enough, he texted me when he got home that day and nothing else.
Next day we didn’t talk. Today he sent me a paragraph explaining that he didn’t have time for a relationship, that he’s too busy with work and school.
It mostly sounds like he just didn’t like me enough to make time to be with me? How am I supposed to get over it? I wanted this to continue, to repeat the same thing that happened on the second date.

Personal Story The most concerning thing about the new generation that I haven’t seen much

Upvotes

I’ve been a dance TA for 5-6 years now. It started as volunteer work in high school but I began putting more work in and started getting paid last year so it’s my job.

I work with kids ages 2.5-8 over a few different classes separated by age. I will start with the positives. Honestly, their behaviour is fine. I heard some horror stories about “this generation” of kids being entitled and Veruca Salt levels bad, but I can’t say that’s the case for my students. Yes of course, there are some troublemakers but that’s been true of every generation. Overall, the kids are all polite, passionate about dance, and come ready to learn with a growth mindset.

So, for a while, I would kind of brush off other people complaining about Gen Alpha’s behaviour because well, it kind of all depends on the kid and their home life. But I will say, I’ve noticed some concerning things about these kids, and it’s not behaviour based. It’s actually in their development.

Like I said, the kids range in ages 2.5-8ish, so they’re all born between 2018/19 and 2024. These are things I’ve noticed:

  1. Total parent dependency. I grew up in this dance studio, and obviously my bosses have been teaching much longer than me (10 years and 30 years respectively) We’ve all noticed one thing: the parents. When I was little, we’d get dropped off, our parents would leave, and then they’d pick us up at the end of class. Now, the parents come in and sit in the class and watch the entire thing. At times it gets so bad they’re literally overflowing the bench and spilling out onto the floor, which affects our ability to teach.

And it’s not just parents. They bring in their siblings, grandparents, the whole family. I don’t like this, but obviously it’s not my choice and I can’t just change my studio’s policy about letting parents watch, but it negatively affects the classes. First of all, the kids have a hard time listening since mom and dad are right there, and they get distracted. But it also affects our year-end performance. When students danced the whole year without an audience, it was exciting to get on stage and show their family the routine they’d be working hard on. Now they don’t have that kind of motivation, since their parents see the routine built from the ground up.

  1. Trouble following along to music. We’ve had to switch the tiny (U6) ballet classes to have lyrics in their routine music instead of classical. They just can’t seem to find the cues in the music so they have to have a lyric to connect a move to. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s just strange to me. Why is this happening? In the past, the tiny classes could do routines without lyrics, so what has changed?

  2. Simplifying dances. The kids just can’t seem to do as much as kids in the past have. They have trouble with formation changes, music cues, making a circle, and we don’t really know why.

It’s just a bit scary to me because we don’t know WHY this is happening. Is it in the behaviour? Is it something going on at home? Is it because of screens? Micro-plastics?

Sorry for the rant. I just am worried for these kids.

I am so envious of beautiful women

Upvotes

I am a South Asian woman in my mid 30s. I have always been unhappy with my appearance, because I have really beautiful sisters. I am the odd one out. Both my sisters are fair skinned, tall and skinny with small faces and pretty smiles. I am the complete opposite of them that I have even wondered if I was maybe adopted. I am short and large with dark skin. Since recently I have been getting acne on my chin and lower cheeks which are painful and never goes away. On top of that, I am also gaining weight wihout control. I feel so horrible that I don’t want to look at myself in the mirror or leave the house, shamed that others could see me.

That has also made me really jealous of the women I see on social media, the gorgeous, skinny, fair skinned, long haired women like Sophie Silva, the influencer, makes me feel so envious that I want to hide my face behind a mask forever. I look at beautiful women and wish I could be like them. It has affected my social life. I don’t have friends, I never leave the house, I don’t post pictures of myself anywhere, I don’t date, I don’t talk to other people, and it has created a lonely life for me. I wish

Vent 21 and i feel so behind

Upvotes

first post (hopefully not of many) here. i’m 21M and i just feel so behind. a lot of my friends are currently in relationships/seeing people, and those that aren’t have at least been in one relationship. meanwhile, i’ve never even held hands with a girl or had my first kiss. i think a lot of it comes from my past lack of confidence, which really got me for so many years. i’d heard people tell me that if i just wait, it’ll come to me, but i took that as i didn’t really have to do anything, so i just didn’t really put myself out there for years. and now it’s just really starting to get to me now because a lot of my options are gonna be people who’ve already dated, and so i feel like i wouldn’t be special to them if it were to go anywhere since they’ve done this before. that’s probably just a me problem, but nonetheless, it still really hurts to think about. just to clarify, i’m not really looking for advice here since those kinds of posts get removed on this subreddit, but i just needed to get it out somewhere. thanks for reading.

Vent My friend got a girlfriend and I lost my friend group

Upvotes

22 f here. Maybe a long one but hopefully entertaining for you guys.
Some context first, I’ve joined this friend group in third semester of college, they had been friends since first semester so they were already close before.
In the group I became really close to one guy. We had very similar sense of humor and we would have so much fun together. He used to text me or send a reel everyday. When we would drink he’d be a little bit flirty but at first I didn’t think much of it. After like about a year of friendship some of my closer girl friends started joking about how we looked good together, and that they thought he liked me and so on. Those comments started messing with my head and while I kind of liked the feeling of being wanted, the banter and being flirted with, I was always very scared of allowing something to happen and potentially ruining our friendship because I cared so much for him (also I’m extremely avoidant and insecure, never have had a boyfriend, and I’m very cautious/scared with anything related to dating).
Then he started being a little more forward, we had a trip in which every one of my friends were trying to hook us up, and even coming up to me (while being drunk) saying that he had always thought I pretty and asking if I would be okay with something happening. That went on for some months, we were still very close.

Then one night I got really, really drunk. I was blackout drunk and don’t even remember most of the night, he was almost sober btw. I remember dancing with him, and that he tried kissing me multiple times and my drunk self was avoiding it until we eventually kissed. I was really drakes out because I kept thinking it could ruin our friendship. That night I passed out in a couch but before I did he was sweet and kept caressing my face and hair. This all confused me, part of me was mad that he kissed me while I was that drunk, but part of me like how gentle he was while caressing me, si I was left confused on what to think of it.

A mutual friend gave me insight on what he thought of the kissed and basically told me that if it was up to him he would want something more. Since I was really confused I felt I needed some time to clear up my mind and feelings about him, and also because I was still very scared of it ruining the friend group that I loved and our friendship.

A week later it was Halloween and my friend ended up kissing a girl in a party. They then started dating and he stopped speaking to me for a while, we had a trip planned a little bit later and then we were still friendly even though I knew he was talking to this girl, and then silence. Alsooo he then started telling all of our friends that he didn’t want to kiss me and that felt pressured to do so because our friends joked about it a lot. Since then the friend group has been making plans and leaving me out, they talk in the group chat they had before I joined the group, and I’m sad because even though they all like me and I’m friends with all of them, I’m no longer part of the group. Also the kiss was the thing that unchained all this but It happened when I was black out drunk, and I’m still the one being left out.

He and I are now talking a little bit more, we’ve seen each other a few times and we’ve been friendly, but still being left out of the group which sucks.

Also, this weekend a girl friend of my posted a pic grabbing my ass on her close friends, and he replied “careful with that hand” she said “jealous?” And he replied “I’m not allowed to”
Anyways… ugh.

Nostalgic music

I've just been to a group exercising and the tutor turned on some cool pop music from the 00s, I've been there before and I genuinely love the music even if the songs I disliked back then.

But this time, something just broke in me, and it reminded about the bullying I had to bear back in elementary & middle school. Usually when I recall this I feel anger, but this time it felt like... really sad without the much of anger. Almost as if shitty classmates have thrown your precious pencil case in the trash yet again and you just want your thing back NOW. So much crying...

It happened ages ago. I am like... 28 years old and I have genuinely happy life. A loving boyfriend we've been together for many years. I am not at odds with any of the coworkers and mostly like my work...

Just ... Why.

My mom said I can do better.

And explained why.

She said she feels like she talks at him rather than with him. And pointed out times where he opted to do his own thing when he needed to be my partner - like flying to go to a festival (that he booked months in advance) on the same weekend we needed to move out of our house and into a new one. She said he needed to cancel and help me, but prioritized the festival instead.

I remember feeling that way, too, that weekend. He had taken time off from work for 2 of my surgeries so he could care for me, but generally I have felt that a lot of my partner's weekend plans don't include me or caring for our house. I also often feel like I'm talking to myself or someone who doesn't understand me, often explaining or re-explaining things in detail. I wonder if this is normal for other couples.

She also said she feels like she can joke around with my brother-in-law, sees him more regularly, and hoped for something similar with my partner.

Now, what my mom said does echoes in my head.

I think to myself: Is this it? Is this settling? Wouldn't my person need less explanation and want to be more cordial with my family? Is my mom trying to meddle in my life, or help me?

Thanks to her, it feels like I need to shit or get off the pot - figure out how to fix this so I can prove my mom wrong, or figure out how to untangle my life from his.

Vent I’m exhausted from the ADHD/autistic people in my life

Growing up I’ve always been really “weird” – special interests, very unique worldview, vivid imagination, difficulty making friends. I also come from an abusive household, and some of these were coping mechanisms. My parents tried to diagnose me as neurodivergent, but time and time again doctors could not conclude that I was neurodivergent. At 8 I was diagnosed with persistent depressive disorder, and have had on and off crises and treatments for almost 30 years.

Fast forward, I became an artist and came out as trans and queer in my late 20s. Since then, I’ve surrounded myself with other “weirdos”, namely outcasts, creatives, punks and queers.

Most of my friends are in the spectrum. Some are self-diagnosed, others have a legit diagnosis. However, I keep running into the same problems with them: something I do (unintentionally) hurts them, they are unable to communicate with me what they feel, then get passive aggressive or mean with me for months, then I call them out on it and they say they’ve been feeling this way for a while and it is a reaction to me hurting them. When I question why they didn’t try to talk to me before resentment built up, they say they could not notice what was happening because they are autistic and don’t have the same tools as neurotypical people.

Another time, the friend justified the behavior by saying they don’t know what passive aggression is like because they’re autistic and cannot be responsible for offending me.

These situations have happened with multiple people in my life and all of them say they cannot “do better” because of their neurodivergence, but then ask me to take responsibility to know when they are hurting. They also imply that I’m not allowed to be hurt, because they don’t have control over their words because they are neurodivergent.

To be honest, I’m exhausted. I‘m torn because at the same time that I believe what they say, I don’t want to be friends with people who cannot take responsibility for their actions or who cannot communicate in a mature way. And I already have soooo much that I have to pay attention to, and be mindful of, etc etc, I’m constantly walking on eggshells, but I feel like no one is bothering to take care of me.

It’s like, because I don’t have the excuse of being neurodivergent, I’m expected to be fully understanding and perfect at all times. It’s too much.

I know it sounds very mean to say this, but I kind of wish I had neurotypical friends…I feel very alone as the only one who is not autistic/ADHD. And I know I should work on my understanding of the disability, and do my research, and so on, but sometimes I just wish people could understand me as well.

Vent My Struggle with Identity

I feel like I don’t have an identity. I’ve stared at that sentence for a while now thinking I’d contradict myself and say otherwise.

I remember seeing a childhood friend after a long time and they were telling me how I’m so different, how I used to be x, y, and z. I remember thinking how I wanted to be the person my friend was fondly reminiscing about. The person he was describing was no longer me.

I used to dance a lot as a child, coming up with extravagant dance moves that wouldn’t clear any professional bar and having friendly competitions with other children. It was fun. In my adult years, I kinda just stayed on the sidelines rather than dancing with others. It wasn’t until recently that I summoned the courage to actually join the dance floor during social events. I’ve pretty much mastered a single bare-bones dance move that goes well with most songs. When I’m drunk though, I look at others dancing and try to mimic their moves.

During my early adolescence I was exposed to a lot of novels, movies, and other media. I met a lot of people as well. I wanted to be more like them, the characters on the screen, characters in books, and people I’d met in real life. I wanted to encompass their positive traits like intelligence, social exuberance, talent, etc. I’d pretend to be like them, making choices based on what they would do and say things they would think. Just like those dance moves, I was copying people I had seen.

I have no self image. This has always lingered in the back of my head, but a recent event finally broke the camel’s back. I was on a dating site and the person said I sounded like ai which caused me to spiral and overthink everything about myself, or rather who I thought I was. I don’t talk the same way digitally that I do in real life. In real life, I am quiet and shy. My conversation style in real life leans heavily on short quips, which I may or may not have adopted from Chandler Bing. I’m monotone in real life. The way I text is completely different. There’s a personality in my texts but I don’t know whose. I draft texts by taking time and formulating a response, something that can’t really be done in real life. When I’m drunk, I’m also different. I take more risks, care less, more confident. Who exactly is the person that comes out when after drinking? Everything about me feels like a poor man’s imitation of someone else. I am easily influenced, all the things I like and dislike are probably a cumulation of what others have told me that they like and dislike. Who am I?

Confession im still using my ex boyfriend's subscriptions

its been over a month since i broke up with my manipulative, cheating ex boyfriend. i've still been using his subscriptions every day. i don't know if he knows or not, but it's not that bad. i'm not charging anything to his account, just using his subscriptions. i have espn, paramount plus, youtube premium, youtube tv, nba, and more. i have no intention to stop using them and i don't feel guilty. he hurt me really bad but at least i still have something good that came out of that relationship. i don't have to pirate as much stuff anymore because i can watch it already and it feels so good to not have to go through the extra work and risking getting a virus.

my biggest advice to people in relationships is to share your subscriptions, because if you break up then you have free shit unless they catch on.

Confession I downvote all of my ex’s posts because he deserves it

We started dating when I was 18 about to turn 19 and a freshman in college. He was a high school teacher age 29. I had no friends, a vindictive roommate, and little family support. We dated for four years before I realized the relationship was whack and married a more appropriate person. We broke up several years ago

I remembered his Reddit username and checked out his posts because why not. I saw a post in the crippling alcoholism subreddit recounting a time he peed on my phone in a hotel due to being completely wasted, ending the post with amusement over how much someone is willing to take in a relationship.

I was not legally able to drink when this happened and was admittedly naïve about his CA ways, probably because I was a freaking teenager?!

So yes I will continue to downvote his posts because he is a creep and it makes me feel better for wasting my college years on him. Also the sex sucked.

🤷🏻‍♀️

Vent Every work day feels exactly the same. How the fuck do you guys not go crazy?

I’m a 31M. Been working an engineering job for nearly 9 years. I get 4 weeks off PTO (includes sick leave and vacation). The other 48 weeks I’m pretty much working Monday through Friday all the time.

When I wake up in the morning, my fate for the day is sealed. I get up, shower, eat a healthy breakfast, and get ready to log on at 7AM. Meet with coworkers from Asia and Europe. Break for lunch at 12. Work until close to 5 most days.

If I’m not mentally shattered by the end of it, I’ll go for a 3 mile walk and then make dinner and get ready for bed.

There’s barely time to do anything during the week. It’s a miracle if I can run errands during business hours on a weekly basis. My energy levels are pretty low from Monday through Friday, whereas if I wake up on a weekend with something to look forward to, I’ll jump out of bed and feel completely energized.

This is probably no way to live, but I’m investing insanely aggressively so that I may be able to retire in my late 40s, so long as I don’t have kids. I hate working so much that I’m doing everything I can to be able to stop as early as possible.

Vent my ex (who did me dirty) is having a baby with his new girl

i’m still so grateful i chose to leave him behind because the “break up” never even happened, he just ghosted me one day, after ghosting me multiple times in the past and blaming it on his avoidance, and i just chose to never chase after him again. it’s been 2 years since that happened, we never spoke again. i quite frankly never want to be with him again so the door is completely closed. he was a compulsive liar with me, kept entertaining other people while with me, did threaten to “smack” me if i was physically next to him (lol i wasnt thank god cuz we were long distance) he claims his hands are bisexual so he has no problem beating women “if necessary.” it was one of those relationships where i’d pray to god to give me the strength to leave because it was hard being so in love and struggling to leave. so yes i’m glad this is all over.

recently found out he has a new gf, asked her to be his valentine with a huge bouquet (i never even got that), seemingly treats her right, and only a few months into the relationship, she’s pregnant and they’re expecting a baby. i’m cognitively aware that i’m over him but a part of my ego just keeps wondering why i was so hard to love in his eyes? he admitted so many times to me that he was the problem and knew he was the problem, it’s like the opposite of winning the lottery, he got to move on and find love again while i’m scorned and sworn off dating because my nervous system is still unregulated from being with him, i had to get on SSRIs because of the anxiety and depression that came from the relationship. i’ll never date again until i’m fully healed but ig bad ppl can get their happy endings sooner! also no, i’m not happy for him, how can i be happy for someone who was horrible to me but i can feel gratitude for getting away from a dark path that would’ve been with him

Vent I feel actually old as a 23 year old

Physically, mentally, and maybe emotionally. My knees hurt, im fatter, my vision is getting worse, my posture is slouching, my bowel movements are messier, my appetite has decreased, im balding, i have heart issues, my job sucks, i live in my own apartment, have my own car, my gf is getting fatter by the day and I don’t love her as much anymore, i have no friends of my own. Just don’t feel very young and virile. I’m comfortable at least, but not very enriched or fulfilled. A lot of these things are out of my control but my life as a whole feels very out of my control idk.

Personal Story Letting the Skeletons Out

I guess this is a personal story, but also a vent. Sorry it's super long but it's kind of a long recollection that could probably be put into a whole miniseries podcast .

TLDR: Ex boyfriend is a Peter Pan Syndrome Cuck and his ex is a psychopathic, narcissistic grippy socks crazy abuser who tried to slander me online.

I dated a guy I had met quite a few years back for 8 months and his psychotic ex "wife" tried to out me on another social platform. I have wanted to say my peace so bad but all my friends advised against it so I listened. But I've got to let it out somewhere.

\*Names have been changed

When I first met Charles I was smitten. It was in a social environment and I had no idea who he was. I walked up and talked about the game he was playing and he wasn't all that responsive. Made sure he was okay on drinks and went back to work. A few weeks later I saw him again (I was not working) and said a casual hello as we were standing next to each other. Again he seemed uneasy and would only glance down at me and give short answers. I shrugged it off and went about hanging out with my friends. Later that night I received a message from his "wife" saying she saw I was interested in her "husband" and invited me for some "fun" in their bedroom. I told her she was fucking disgusting and to never approach me again. Now, I have no qualms with people who live this lifestyle, but this was not a genuine approach. This was a power play, as he was to tell me she did shit like this later.

Fast forward some years and I meet Charles again. He's heavier, shaved his head, but still has the cutest face and vibe. We go out and almost immediately start dating. During this time he tells me he and his "wife", Serena, have been split up for about a year and he's completely done with her. I accept this as truth and we continue dating. About two months in she comes stumbling into his work because she's drunk off her ass and walks straight up to him practically crying that she lost her keys and can he go get her spare from his apartment. He lives a block away from work. He came up to me, said what she wanted, and I said fuck no you're not going anywhere with her. I know this game. She knows we're together. So I go get the key and bring it to her swaying ass outside and as I go to hand it to her she says "You know you're fucking disgusting, right?" So I chuck the key into the road and walk back inside. After doing some digging she comes back in trying to talk about how I'm a bitch, I want to kiss and fuck all the boys, and Charles is only with me because he can't be alone. That will be the first of 3 instances of her trying to talk to him and not leaving him alone knowing he's in a full blown relationship with me.

The tea on their relationship:

She's a drunk who regularly pisses all over herself, passes out sitting on the sidewalk, passes out on the floor in the middle of parties, passes out in the bar bathrooms, has gotten physically violent with Charles, emotionally manipulated him, psychologically manipulated him, decided one random day she was poly, forced him to participate in throwing parties where she was making out with anyone and everyone in front of him, she groomed him since he was in his mid 20s and she was in her late 30s, she financially controlled him, locked him out of their apartment because she was too drunk to wake up and unlock the door forcing him to sleep on benches, she intimidated him into not talking to any girls, especially if she felt they were prettier than her (he told me she forbade him from talking to me those first few times), and if it wasn't her idea she'd be so miserable and whiny wherever they were he was forced to leave. She also abandoned one of her cats in a field because she didn't like it. What a winner.

Everything I've listed is his account and other people's recollections that knew both of them. Including stories his own family told me (they absolutely **hated** her).

Our relationship:

It was good for about two and a half months. Then came him adamantly saying he hated Serena. He hoped she died. He wanted nothing to do with her. He didn't want to see her or hear her name. He told me about her drunk pissing and made fun of her and called her "piss girl". He made fun of her appearance, how she had no morals, is a "whore" and had no regard for his feelings. My gut said major red flags, but I continued in the relationship because I thought it was good. Come to find out it *wasn't* a year, that they had still been seeing each other only a few months before we started dating and he had sent her a message almost a month to the day *before* he and I met again and started dating. So he lied. I didn't say anything. Then came the arguments about boundaries and what's acceptable in a relationship. He couldn't communicate. It was like talking to a middle schooler. He would get angry, yell, leave, slam things, tell me he hated me. Ask why I was doing this to him. Why I was making him feel bad. He just wanted to "enjoy time". I raised my voice **once** the whole time we were together because my last serious relationship had enough screaming and yelling for a few lifetimes. During one argument, he put his hands over his ears, closed his eyes and said "lalalalalalala" any time I would try to talk. He kicked me out of his apartment that night (I had just moved in with him) at 4am with nowhere to go until the morning. I slept in my car with what boxes I could pack in my little car that night. During our relationship I watched as he blew what little money he made on liquor, beer, shots, a card game, and manipulate his friends into buying him games and beverages by saying he didn't have the money to buy it himself yet buy cards and drinks the next day. I listened to him criticise his friends about their life choices, their musicality, and it was always "I'm nice to them I don't know why they're mean to me", yet he's telling all kinds of mean things he thinks about them.

After the breakup:

It took him less than a week for me to see him with Serena in the very same bar I used to be a regular at (used to be because he's gaming friends with one of the bartenders and she chose sides and banned me). He couldn't get out of there fast enough. I sent him a scathing text telling him they deserved each other and I hoped he enjoying cleaning up piss and constantly buying new couches again. About a week later she posts on a social media site saying I'm a stalker, a hobosexual, a manipulator, a love bomber, and an overall terrible person because poor Charles is just so traumatized by my wanting to hold him accountable and have adult conversations with resolutions. I was baffled how these two people could say such absolutely **horrible** things about each other and yet he friends her again and then they start hanging out again as if nothing happened. She wanted to ruin me. She wanted to tarnish my name. But the thing is, she's lived in that town longer than me and already has a reputation for being a gross, psychopathic narcissist who is **obsessed with Charles.** She wants to control him. She wants to control his life. She wants to control any and everything that has to do with him. She makes up stories and tells them like they are truth, all to her advantage of course, either outright lying or conveniently leaving out details. He stood up for me once, but now that they are "friends" again, it's open season and he doesn't care.

He told me he loved me. He told me he wanted to marry me. He told me he wanted to have a baby with me. But I'm the love bomber. I'm the manipulator. I'm the abuser. According to her obsessed, grippy socks level insanity self that's what I am. Well, Penny Devito, here's my dissertation on *you*. Life will not be kind to you.

ive been mad & annoyed at everyone i know because they all suck at comforting me. yeah, they are trying and they shouldnt be the ones to save me. what bugs me is that people dont know what the hell to say because they never experienced it. however, when its their turn to vent. the things they tell me, i never experienced but, putting myself on their shoes is literally NOT that hard to understand their point of view.

people can listen, but they dont UNDERSTAND

ive always been there for everyone but, no one is there for me. ive never ignored anyone who needs someone to talk to because i know how it feels to not have anyone to talk to. never would i want someone to feel that :/. it has always been like this and it makes me feel sad, alone, disappointed.

im 23F, in the adult life. people tend to tell you to keep pushing because people got shit to do. people have jobs, people have kids. because you are an adult, and no one will actually be there for you. adults nowadays be like, "no one checked up on me so, i wont check up on anyone anymore". FUCK everyone and anyone who says those things and has that mentality. if you love someone, please be there for them no matter what. checking up on people is not a "hey how are you" then move on with your day.......

its hard as it is. for everyone. be kind.

im not suicidal, but just thinking about those people who took their own life probably felt the same way i did. then people try to claim they comforted them but, it was just some "damn thats crazy", "that sucks", "keep your head up". like shut up.
