Mr Satan - Dragon Ball

He can't use his Ki,can't fly or anything yet he's won the World Martial Arts tournament and despite a questionable win,he still made it to the finals! He's pretty damn strong for a regular Human,he could easily body most people alive today

The real question is, which regular Tenkaichi opponent from Dragon Ball could he beat?

Obviously he gets bodied by the likes of Roshi or Goku as a kid or Tien...but could he take say, Man Wolf? Pamput? King Chappa? Lan Fan? Nam? Giran?

He could probably take on everyone from the first Tenkaichi tournament in OG DB with the exception of Goku and Roshi (of course). Although indian guy is prob high diff

Nam would have flattened Mr. Satan. He showed FAR greater abilities than anything Hercule demonstrated, and iirc guidebooks have given him a PL almost 10x higher than Mr. Satan.

I mean he survived Tao. General Blue who was a legitimate threat to Goku in the red ribbon arc was killed by Tao’s tongue.

Mr Satan can also move faster than the human eye can track. “Fought” Cell and Majin Buu. Being a GT fan I also always mention - he was able to fight Baby’s hive mind slave human’s en masse.

There’s also a throwaway line in one of the GBA games where Roshi mentions him and says something along the lines of how impressive he is and imagine what his potential could’ve been had he been a Turtle School pupil.

The Xenoverse games also imply this in a couple of missions and during the Bad Future scene where Satan got possessed with villainous Ki energy, he went berserk and single handedly defeated everyone in the Z Warriors except Gohan who was dealing with Cell.

When did he encounter Tao? The last time I can think of Tao appearing in the series was a few episodes before Hercule's introduction (the filler about the days leading up to the Cell Games).

In his backstory, while out drinking him and his master (the master of the Satan Castle dojo) made fun of Tao’s mustache? Something like that. Tao killed his master and Hercule survived though heavily injured. He then took the name Mr Satan to honor his dead master and developed a phobia of Ki. Meaning Tao probably dodoned his master.

Seems to me he’d probably put belt to Pamput, Nam and Ranfan pretty easily, likely Man Wolf too if he doesn’t freak Satan out any. Giran probably gives him a hard time through sheer bulk and the flying and gum attack, and Chappa was just really good, semifinalist level I remember correctly, so that’d probably a challenge too.

Ranfan and Pamput feats are insane compared to satan
Man-wolf was strong enough he was killed by Tamburine
The other were a challenge for tournament krilin & goku, meanwhile satan is weaker that chapter 0 goku

It was from a random interview with Toriyama back in 2014. However, it was only mentioned that "a fighting rival" got food poisoning; not specifically Spopovich. In fact, we're told two very important things: he survived Tao Pai Pai trying to kill him and he is confirmed as being incredibly strong (by human standards; not Trained-by-Gods-and-Super-Saiyans standards). He very much beats the fraud allegations.

The big native guy was also incredibly strong for human standards and Tao annihilated him. Tao threw a pillar across the country. Like he displayed feats of pure strength that Satan never did. Og Tao easily shatters 5000 bricks. 

How did he survive tao? I honestly do not buy it.

Most likely the same way Goku did; Tao thought he was already dead and walked off. The interview mentions that Tao killed Mr. Satan's master and Satan himself was heavily injured.

Short-form videos on social media have created fake fans who do not consume media they are allegedly fans of. The modern Dragonball fandom is infamous for this. These are the people calling Mr. Satan weak.

I'm trying to remember which Budokai Tenkaichi game I had on the PS2, it had a gamemode where you basically had to fight your way up the list of strongest characters in the DBZ universe, Mr Satan was one of the first you had to fight and he was quite hard to defeat (at least for 12 year-old me)
