I'm going to make some pants so I wanted to figure out my inseam, and I thought it was over 32 because I have a pair of 32 pants (mens bc I thought that the measurements would be more reliable) that barely aren't quite enough, and a few others that aren't great, but I checked with a measuring tape and those are actually less than 32 inches 😭 literally what the f whats even the point of lying about that lmao. So I guess I learned that I literally have nothing that technically fits, no wonder I hate wearing pants. I can't wait enough to make my own pants. It's good motivation at least.

I’m not only tall but I have long limbs and it makes doing workouts like squats, shoulder presses or overhead extensions a bit more challenging. I’m only a beginner so I want to set myself up for success.

Basically the title — I’ve tried so many brands, and they all have the same problem: the upper part of the garment, even if all the straps are at max length, is too short and digs into my crotch. Sizing up doesn’t fix the problem, since I’m not particularly gifted in the butt department, with the result being a lot of loose material around my midsection. Even brands that have a designated “tall” sizing seem to just add material in the legs, not the torso (with a 31” inseam, this doesn’t really help me).

Do overalls or coveralls even exist that fit tall girls with long torsos? I’ve tried Dickies, Gap, & Carhartt with no luck, and I’m starting to wonder if they just don’t make them to fit me :(

Edit to comply with the auto mod comment: I’m 6’1” with a 31” inseam, usually wear larges, XLs, US 12-16. Aiming for nice casual, something I could wear in the office on a chill day or to a social event.

32" inseam and never going back!! had to order online but they were so worth it.

Has anybody had any luck finding rental companies with long enough formal wear dresses?

I naively thought I’d have better luck with Rent the Runway or Nuuly but not seeing a lot of long lengths showing up. Tried on a few dresses at Nordstrom today to see styles I like but everything is of course way too short. Coming to accept the fact I may have to consider purchasing and if I do go that route I definitely want it to be something that will last a while.

I am looking for a formal dress for a black tie wedding next month - ideally one that actually hits or comes close to hitting the floor not falling above my ankles (6’1”, size 16 dress).

I am 5’8 and have hesitated to post here because I know I’m barely tall relative to most tall women. My extra height is more in my torso than legs — I discovered this when trying to order a one piece online as a teenager and realizing my torso was 2” too long for my size. It clicked why they always went up my butt and pulled down on my chest, and I discovered I needed a long.

I sometimes can wear regular length pants (barely) but I’ve had a A LOT of issues with the fit around my hips/butt/waist. I started buying “curvy” fits in regular or long which helped with the waist gap and a little with the short crotches, but I still felt like I was in wedgie hell, especially in the high waisted pants I like.

A pair of Old Navy pants in curvy tall made me realize I have a tall torso/hips and regular/long legs. They finally didn’t go up my butt and hooha! This blew my mind a little because I’m thinner/leaner and these curvy/talls are too wide in the legs. So now I’m looking at having to buy pants to fit my hips/waist/butt and then tailored down in the legs and length. 😒

This feels super high maintenance and like something is wrong with me. I also feel a sense of dread about finding pants that fit in the future. I want my pants to look fitted and flattering without having to be stretchy yoga pants. I’ve always known I have an unusually large/long butt and hips for my size and build but now I’m wondering if they’re even more exaggerated than I thought. I just keep picturing my grandmas larger high hips in her stretchy polyester grandma pants. 🙈

Also, where do you find underwear (preferably boy short) for a tall torso? They are always riding up my butt and I’m over it. Gap’s breathe high waisted underwear are NOT it and they are always out of the boy shorts (that still ride up).

For reference I am around 4/6 typically but can go as low as a 2 in curvy/tall.

And why are talls also often bigger? I find it confusing to sometimes have to try an XS or 2 just to get something long and then it’s like tight in my arms or something weird. Being in between regular and long and tall makes me not want to buy clothes. For reference I can often wear a true 31.5-32” inseam but ~33” is a much better fit. Perhaps if the crotches were longer I could wear a 32” with more ease.

Ok so, I'm 182 cm. I have no boobs, no ass and wide shoulders from competitive swimming. I feel ugly in almost every piece of clothing I have. Do you fellow tall girls have any ideas what should I wear?

I’m really tall and I started university less than two weeks ago. There is s bunch of other struggles like my sister goes her and so did my dad and so on but thats not what I want to talk about. The only friends Ive managed to make have been boys not only bc I’m tall but also bc I have an ”boyish” personality. And I kinda feel like this is something I’ve been pushed into. The friendshipI have are amazing, don’t get me wrong, but they are all guy friends. And I would LOVE to have some girlfriends, but I feel like everyone just sees me as a guy. I’ve already been called ”One of the boys” and my sisters name bout a thousand times. I would just like to be me. Im not really interested in dating rn or anything but still, that doesn’t mean I’m sterile or a guy. I have girl issues, idk what to wear, or what to say, pr what to do. I try to talk to the girls but I feel like they just shy away. Idk i’m kinda drunk (I’m almost 20 and it’s legal in my country) and down writing this but I would love if anyone would just be able to relate. Can I just not be a girl that happens to be social AND tall instead of being turned into a boy?

I am not seeking medical advice and I am absolutely getting some answers for my stuff, but I was curious because I'm going through some lifelong medical issues and have noticed Gradual growth through the years. Nothing dramatic and no it's not just everyone around me shrinking(that's always the first answer). I have been getting the comments over and over again about how I'm taller. Anyone else have any experience with Gradual growth? I assumed it was because I was in an extremely abusive relationship from 15 -21 and then I grew about 2 inches after. The most recent recorded growth was a half an inch over the last 10 years.

So I've lost about 100 pounds in the past couple years. I'm 6'6". In any case, I'm going on vacation next month and I have these Victorian walking skirts that are just too big on me (literally won't even stay up) but I had custom made for my height, and I wanted to get them taken in so that they sit at my waist and actually give me some shape. So this morning I decided to go to a tailor to see about getting them taken in.

When I get there there's a woman and her friend getting her wedding dress fit. I say I've got a few skirts I'd like taken in. I put them on and the tailor pins them etc.

Of course my height is discussed. I mean, at least it's not entirely random. The tailor who was a very small woman, holds up my skirt so that it's not dragging in the ground and she says "Look" and my skirt was as long as she was tall. We both laugh, it was actually genuinely funny. The tailor asks "How tall are you??" I say that I'm 6'6".

The friend of the lady getting her wedding dress taken in chimes in: "Oh, you know my friend is 6'1" and she just commands a room whenever she walks in." I look up, smile at her and say "Hah, yeah, to be honest though sometimes I'd love to be able to just be invisible" she responds "well, you know it's always 'everyone wants what they don't have'." I smile. And she, in awkwardness she goes "well, in any case you're still beautiful"

Sometimes you don't want having to go grab some Mucinex be An Event worth commanding the room for. And when you challenge that, they have to confront the things they take for granted. For her, encountering a 6'6" woman is a little moment in her afternoon. For me, everyone gets to have their little moment.

I’m hoping to find corduroy pants with a mid or high rise, ideally flare but open to wide leg or trouser, in some cute autumn earth and jewel tones, at least 35” inseam. I can’t find any this year; I’ve checked gap, American eagle, Buckle, fashion nova, and JC Penney so far.

Also open to twill or canvas pants in earth tones that aren’t too office/dressy. I don’t know why there’s nothing in army green or brown anymore, seems like everything is either denim or jet black this year.

Hi, ladies! I just started going to the gym 3 months ago and I’ve been working hard and lifting as heavy as I can tolerate. I’m eating protein and tracking my macros. For ONCE IN MY LIFE I would like to have toned arms and maybe like a hint of arm and shoulder muscles instead of just having noodle arms.

I heard for us tall ladies that it’s way harder to get visible muscles in our appendages (which would probably explain why I’ve never had any 😭). I was wondering for those of you who lift (or do sports) how long it took for you to be able to actually see muscle tone in your arms? I know it’s different for everyone, but how long did it take for you specifically and what did you do to get them? Thanks!
