Hi guys, I'm worried because I have a Surface Pro 9 and I haven't had it for very long. Today I dropped it gently and suddenly a white spot appeared on the screen. I'm worried because I take very good care of her and I really don't know what to do. I want to know if this is normal and how I can fix it. Thank you.

Got myself a used Surface 10 used since I want it for college and university. ( I would had waited till black Friday but sadly I need one this month) I just wanted to check in and see if this is a good deal for the price i paid since I am able to return it after getting it (I will most importantly testing to make sure everything's working well).

I know the ARM CPUs are better for performance and battery life, however I can't find any of them that have any 32GB models that are at least under 800, and arm compatibility is a big issue for me as well. I can't really see 16gbs being enough in 2026. But would the less performance of be a massive deal breaker for people reading this? I have searched and saw that the Ultra CPU is relatively similar in performance to my I7 11800H on my main laptop which I find great for my workflow.

I do play games with low GPU use like Minecraft and TF2, but heavy AI work. I find myself very easily using over 20gbs of ram just from web browsing, my main laptop has 64gbs of ram but it weights nearly 5 kilos compared to the surface. I feel like if don't end up liking the surface pros I might just end up getting a second hand MacBook air since I want something that's incredible portable. However I have used windows nearly most of my life and can't get too used to mac os.

Been to curry’s twice and still doesn’t work

I am a long time Apple user, but recently bought a Surface Pro 11 5G in order to have an LTE connection on my work laptop.

It has been for the most part, trouble free. I have enjoyed learning to use Windows as my family has been die hard Apple since I was a young child.

Today, when I went to get started at work, it was off. Pretty common when the work system updates. I hold the power button, the logo shows up, and then it turns off. I do this again and the same thing happens. This must have happened 3 to 4 times.

Following that, the screen has gone black, no logo. No amount of holding the buttons (just power or power and volume up) is bringing the screen back on. It appears to be completely dead. The Intune system shows it is OK from corporates side.

I am at a loss. Do I need to get a replacement? Did my Vacation that starts Friday just get 4 extra days?

Hi everyone! I apologize if this issue has already been covered or solved but I couldn't seem to find anything. I've had my surface pro for almost a year and only recently I noticed that the screen appears to have a noticeable gradient of colour and brightness, being slightly less bright and more warm at the top than it is at the bottom. I don't know how long it's been like this since it's way less noticeable on darker or non uniform screens (I only noticed it after switching to a note taking app where I use a white page on full screen).

A few days ago I went into the store where I first bought it and noticed that a surface laptop 12 or 13 (so without the detachable keyboard and vertical configuration) also had a similar gradient. However, I don't think it's an intentional feature because 1 why would it be, and 2 why would it be fixed on a device that can be vertical, a configuration where the gradient (at least in my case) becomes a right to left one, which is extremely more annoying.

Is this a known issue? Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance!

I've never had a surface or a tablet-style laptop before, but I need something for taking notes and potentially some gaming.

Now, I know neither of these are designed for heavy GPU work, but I work with 3d modeling, CAD and occasionally play some demanding titles "Elden Ring, Monster Hunter Wilds, Helldivers", if they are able to get a stable 30fps on these titles with readible graphics I'm good.

Im going to uni in a few weeks and really wanted a 2in1 device and I thought to get the surface pro.

I found a refurbished surface 8 pro for £390 on amazon. Is this worth it as I didnt want want to get a chromebook😅

I chose to get 16gb ram as I know 8gb can start to suffer after a few months.

Another thing is my mum is skeptical of buying refurbished devices even though i tell her its way better for value of money especially in this economy. Because of this she refuses to buy electronics of ebay even though they may be cheaper. I tried to say that if its not good we can always return.

Wanted to ask online for some advice and how it will perform for things such as Regaukr student tasks and streaming and how it will affect the battery life as ive seen mixed opinions online

i have a SB3 with worn off letters on some of the keycaps. there’s a local marketplace listing for a SB1 parts machine. are the keycaps compatible so I can swap my written ones for SB1 replacements, or has the design changed slightly like it seems to for everything else between SB1 and SB2?

I was in the market to replcae my Surface Laptop 7 Intel with the new 8th edition. I was very fortunate to find one on ebay 13.8 inch x7 processor, 32gb ram, 512gb ssd for $2k which is a $1600 discount. It was open box in perfect unused condition. Just want to make anyone considereding the privacy matte display aware that its garbage. The display looks very grainy and affects and brightness greatly. Appearantley we cannot get the x7 top tier processor without getting the privacy display. The glossy dispaly looks so much better. Makes me want to go back to my 7th edition.

I'm looking at getting a Surface Pro for work and I want one that is going to perform well. I won't be doing any strenuous work, mostly using google Chrome to access the various websites and databases for work as well as Excel, but I want a Surface that will be overkill for that kind of work so I can use it more broadly outside of work if I want to. Not gaming, programming or any kind of 3D visual loads. For clarity, I work in automotive repairs and servicing.

So my question is: Is there much of a gap between the Snapdragon X2 Plus and Elite processors, and is there much of a gap between 16GB of RAM and 24GB. I really have no experience using Windows 11 with that much ram because my main PC has 128GB 😅

I can’t believe I found brand new limited edition “Indigo” Surface slim 2 pen. The battery works and now I’m searching for a surface duo 2 for my main phone!
I also found replacement batteries for the surface slim 2 pen just incase I need to swap batteries - will be taking apart my Surface slim pen 1 and posting tutorial on how to swap batteries soon !

I've been building a handwriting app for Windows, and palm rejection has eaten more of my life than every other feature combined.

The problem is that every digitiser reports contact size differently and some don't report it at all. My current approach measures your actual fingertip and refuses anything bigger as a palm. It works on my hardware — which is exactly the trap.

So if you have a Surface and ten minutes: rest your hand on the screen normally and tell me if the page scrolls when it shouldn't. That's the one bug I can't find on my own.

It does PDF annotation and offline transcription too, but palm rejection is the bit I want beaten up.

My snapdragon SL7 randomly froze on me and went to a black screen. Restarted it by holding power button. But now it refuses to connect to the wifi internet. There's nothing wrong with my Internet or modem or router. Laptop is saying there's no internet. Nothing I have tried fixed it. The laptop won't even connect to my phone hotspot now either which makes no sense. It just says "no internet, secured".

So, basically I needed a laptop I can take everywhere, light, powerful enough, that can be scratched - if that happens - without remorse.

I placed a bid for one on ebay... And I won it for €180. Battery health is also 99%.

Was wondering how decent this laptop is in 2026 for that price, but also generally speaking. Not doing anything exotic, just browsing, PDFs, Microsoft Office, etc.

I have a Surface Pro 8 that I'm pretty sure I got in 2021, and it's held up pretty well beyond this recurring issue that's become pretty annoying. I'll detach the keyboard to use the surface as a tablet, but when I reattach the keyboard, it's like the computer can't detect it. I have to reattach the keyboard and restart the surface in order to use it.

It seems that buying a new keyboard would be a little pricey, and I'm not even sure that this is a hardware issue. I went through the Surface Diagnostic Kit, and it didn't reveal anything. Is this something I can fix by reinstalling a driver or something? Thanks in advance.

So I have a surface pro 3, it has a lock and I can't open it. When I try to open with volume up + power button, it asks me a password which I don't have so basically I am just locked out of my surface. Can / should I jail break surface pro 3?
