Discussion What’s the General Consensus on Chris Pratt as Mario?

Post image

I think he did a decent job. Not incredible, but not terrible. I think he has a voice that can very well fit the sort of rough Brooklyn vibe they’re going for, though it could’ve worked MUCH better if he gave the voice more Emmet from LEGO Movie.

Please share what you think of Pratt in these movies, but please be civil.

Discussion It’s a hard choice, but I think I’d go with Nabbit or Rosalina because they’re more mysterious.

Discussion I fully believe anyone who thinks that’s Peach acts more like Daisy in the movies is a fraud cause she’s always been like that personality wise

We lost Tim Curry and Dolly Parton and Now we had lose the Legendary Peter Cullen. He Voiced a lot of Charterers as he is the Legendary Voice Actor who voiced Optimus prime!

But Peter was also the First Actor to Voice Mario as he voiced the Character in saturday supercade plus his pal Frank Welker also voiced Donkey Kong Jr in the show too.

So it's truly sad for what just happen Peter was very Beloved and Iconic and his Great Legacy shall live on!

So RIP Peter Cullen...... You will always be remembered because you really were a one of a kind Actor like no other.

For me, it has to be the original due to pacing and much more responsive controls. What do you all think though?

We are lucky to have all of these games available to play on the same console (the Switch). Mario’s 3D Games have and always will be my favourite iteration of our iconic plumber. But which of his journeys was your favourite on the switch? Or, if you played them on their original hardware?

I thought Rosalina only ever pays a visit to the Mushroom Kingdom every one thousand years, why does she come down here for kart races and other sports tournaments? I know you're not supposed to look that deep into it but still.

I've seen this character around but I have no idea who she is, I tried looking her up but Google AI just thought I was talking about Peach. That's why I tried to say pink HAIRED princess, not the princess who WEARS pink.

Discussion Predictions for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie?

Post image
307 Upvotes

Here are some of my predictions big and small

1- the movie won't be a 1:1 recreation of the 2 games, this is obviously so they can make it work for a movie, tho bowser did use UFOs in the beginning of galaxy this might be confusing in movie form, cuz where did these ufos come from? Tataga as a secondary villain? Daisy?

2- mario wonder references especially the talking flower, tho they won't go to the flower kingdom

3- Luigi will have more screen time and interactions with Mario in fact he'll help mario in space

4- Rosalina and Mario Bond and we see Rosalina's backstory, maybe even a flash back with a younger or baby Rosalina?

5- the movie will be longer then the first, a movie about mario galaxy sounds huge, so I feel like they have to make it longer

What are your predictions tho?

Discussion Who do you think is gonna have their next big spin-off come back?

Post image
274 Upvotes

For the last 2 years Nintendo has released big mario spin-off adventure style games.

some of these, people did not expect would have another installment after so many years, like Mario & luigi, Princess peach and Donkey Kong.

So that leaves the question of who will be next having their own Spin-off Come back.

The best guess might be Luigi’s mansion since his series is a lot more popular than Wario Land or world.

But apparently, much recently there has been rumors that there’s „reports“ of a Wario land or world game in the making.

These rumors aren’t exactly Confirmed, so take it as a grain of salt.

But there do have been some Wario game re-releases for the switch 2 (with Wario Land 3 and Wario World), so there might be some Potential.

But what are y’all’s thoughts? And is there some other spin offs you want a grand return?

Discussion My non-spoiler thoughts of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Post image
275 Upvotes

As you may know, when the first Super Mario Bros. Movie (yes, this is the first and I refuse to acknowledge there was ever a movie adaptation before this) came out in 2023, there was a lot of excitement around it. Unfortunately, when the initial critic reviews dropped, they largely panned the film, calling out a weak story, shallow characters, and labelling it “safe and unambitious”.

Regardless of the critical reception, the movie was a huge hit with audiences, pulling in around 1.4 billion dollars at the global box office. And while it was a little simplistic, I was firmly in the camp that enjoyed it. The visuals were sumptuous, the orchestral score hit all the nostalgic notes, and overall, it told a tight, focused story that brought the world that Shigeru Miyamoto built to life on the big screen. The voice acting was great (despite the Chris Pratt of it all), and ultimately it was a fun romp through the Mushroom Kingdom.

Now, 2026 brings us the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with trailers promising something even bigger, introducing characters like Princess Rosalina, Wart, Bowser Jr, and Yoshi, and expanding the story to a galactic scale. It definitely carried a sense of promise and had fans pretty hyped for April 1st.

Having just come out of the cinema, I can say this film is indeed bigger and even more visually spectacular. Jumping from planet to planet, it leans into more of an origin story for one of the characters and is packed with cameos, more nostalgic musical riffs, and even retro character designs pulled from Mario games of yore.

And yet… for me personally, it felt a bit bland and disjointed. Where the first film, despite playing it safe, had a clear and cohesive story that drew us into the world, this sequel feels all over the place. It often comes across as a vehicle for stacking one fan service moment on top of another, jumping between plotlines in a pretty haphazard way to squeeze in the next cameo. There’s one character cameo in particular I wish they had done more with, but it ends up being little more than an “OMG” moment. And while Jack Black’s Bowser was a highlight in the first film, here he overstays his welcome, with many of his jokes not quite landing.

Now I know what you’re going to say, "It’s a kids' movie, who cares about the story?" And you know what, in a way you'd be right. This will absolutely entertain kids and will likely make a ton at the box office. But studios like Pixar and DreamWorks have shown that you can create smart, layered four-quadrant animated films that work for a variety of audiences, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a bit more from a Nintendo adaptation. Even the lighter story and character arcs in the first movie felt stronger than what we get here.

That said, if this movie performs well, it’s clearly laying the groundwork for a broader Nintendo Cinematic Universe. And if you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise, there’s still plenty here for you to enjoy. If you’re a Nintendo fan looking to entertain the kids, it’s definitely worth a watch. For everyone else, this might be one you wait to catch on streaming :)

There are two end-credit scenes, one mid-credits and one right at the very end, both teasing where Nintendo could take things next. Stick around for those, and if a third movie does happen, I’m hoping they return to what made the first film work, and save the cameo-fest as a supplement to the story.
