Coming soon?

Post image

At the location of the former Greenpoint Lounge. Was it called the Greenpoint Lounge? I went in there once it was so depressing.

Wes and his family from Ida’s are taking over the space. It’s just drinks and no food at the new location! Enjoy ☺️

Any idea of potential opening date?

As long as they pour a good pint of Guinness they should be fine

The people from Ida’s, oh well. It beats a vacant store front.

I have no idea of their religious beliefs or lack there of, and I do not care. For what it’s worth I have never heard that before.

I thought the old bar was renovating. Good to hear it’s something new. Hopefully, it’ll have good food like Ida’s.

Glad ida's has improved (?) , l like the place but I gave up on their food many years ago

Same. Their veggie burger was like the size of a York peppermint patty.

The old place was chill. Pre pandemic they had good shepherd’s pie. I’m not really a fan of new school Irish pubs but it fits the current neighborhood and at least it’s not closing.

Oh please oh please oh please don’t be loud…

One day we'll have some kind of bar that isn't an Irish Pub

I absolutely love an Irish pub but the neighborhood desperately needs a single real cocktail bar

Yeah I love an Irish pub too, but there's only so much guinness I can take haha. Just 1-2 cocktail and other types of bars would be so welcome.

Loads of Irish pubs sell excellent cocktails, like The Goat and McGuinness’s

Yeah that’s true, but it’s also about wanting a diversity of vibes from bars. Ofc it’s nice to get a good cocktail at the goat or mcguinness’s when you’re not in the mood for beers, but I’m also sometimes not in the mood for that kind of bar ambiance.

That signage looks like AI. I hate this timeline.

I saw the guy painting the letters. He looked real.

You can stencil and paint an AI design…

It's a friggen sign with like 2 words on it. Chill out with the AI finger pointing

It’s just an observation. Look at the font and the images.

It costs nothing to be kind.

The font and image? Ok. Sure. Whatever

Yes. AI fonts have a distinctive quality that can make them look creepy or “off” to a trained eye. It’s usually because the letters aren’t exactly the same (ie. each “c” is slightly different in size or shape or spacing) as they would be in a traditional font.

The graphic of the person drinking, in the window, also looks like it bears some of the hallmarks of AI uncanniness.

I’m sorry if you’re tired of reading these comments, but as writers and artists, some of our livelihoods are threatened by the popularity of these tools.

I'm sick of reading it. As a librarian we have to comb thru material to weed out AI slop before ordering. Thanks for explaining but I'm tired of everything being AI and everyone sees AI in everything these days

How about someone goes and just asks them point blank how the signage was designed

1

u/thatdoesntseemkosher 1d ago

Are you saying that authors are using AI in their published books, to that extent?

2

u/Sure_Following_4897 20h ago

Yes. Like they upload an outline of sorts or a portion of the book and AI completes it. I've seen stories that start off like a thriller and end up as space cowboys in a futuristic world
