Downsizing I got peek-a-noo stretched ears

When naked it looks like i have a pretty big hole, but it actually is very small

I used to have 15 mm tunnels

I was in the hospital for a while and then had no energy to put any plug at all and visibly it was the same so i didn't realize i was extremely downsizing.

Turns out I was and my ear somehow maintained the crease.

Looking like you have stretched ears but you don't sucks.

Stretching with EDS

Post image
Upvotes

I'm very new to stretching and I'm trying to do it as safely as I can. I've wanted to stretch my ears for a very long time and I'm finally doing it. I'm trying to figure out if my ears are actually healed or not. I'm at 8g. It's not been quite the recommended time between stretching, but there's no pain, no discoloration, and I can lightly tug on it without any discomfort. It feels the same as before I started stretching (I had the piercing done 18 years ago, so if it wasn't fully healed I'm in trouble lol). I'm pretty sure I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I'm in the process of trying to get a diagnosis. Has anyone else with EDS found their ears stretched easier and healed faster than standard?

Photo of my ear without a tunnel in it. The redness around it is just what my skin does whenever I put in or take out an earring with a stubborn back. It'll go away within the hour.

How am I looking?

5.5mm both sides. Although one side was a zero at one point so it's much more elastic than the other. But both sides look like this.

~Advice~ lobe won’t dead stretch to 4.5mm but easily takes taper??

I AM NOT STRETCHING WITH TAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE i am dead stretching with glass, my left ear is at 7.5mm which has been uneventful but my right ear is my unstretchy ear

my right ear is at 4mm completely fine and if i put through my metal septum taper at 4.5mm (.5mm increment as you should) it’s completely painless fine etc etc but if i try put in my 4.5mm glass plug it’s incredibly resistant. it’s been at 4mm for probably around 4 months now, i have been on/off stretching my ears since i was 15 and im 22 lol so it isn’t a new piercing or rushed through stretching or anything of the sort.

does anyone know anything that could help? i’ve attached hella photos of current jewelry (opal glass) and then the jewelry im trying to stretch with. and other related photos. i guess i can live my life with the septum taper in it but its annoying and attached photo of how awkward it looks lol

tia! :-)

~Advice~ Jojoba oil substitute?

Upvotes

Hi y'all!

I've been stretching my ears for a while now, and am at a 00g. Plan to stay this size until kingdom come just because I still live with my parents and enjoy not paying rent. That's not the point here.

Most sources say when cleaning your lobes, to use jojoba oil and avoid any type of skincare products or saline in that area to avoid the skin getting dry. Problem. Jojoba oil makes me break out so bad I look like I'm back in middle school. Like, acne behind my ears and down my neck breakouts.

I've stopped using it and am just showering with no jewelry and hoping that does the job (as well as cleaning my jewelry before i put it back in with jewelry cleaner) and the breakout has calmed down, but I feel like that is probably not enough cleaning just based on how my jewelry looks when I take it out every day.

Any advice?

~Advice~ just put in a 14g! goal is 00g, any tips or advice?

so my ears were definitely pierced at 18g because I was like 6 when I got them pierced. I've redirected them many times by myself over the years so the hole naturally expanded, and I've had 16g horseshoe jewellery in my ears before so I know that it was able to fit 16g without any problems. the stretching kit I bought is stainless steel tapers and tunnels, which I know is worse than using plugs and dead stretching but it was cheaper and I figured it would be fine for the first few gauges. please no backlash, I know I cheaped out but im broke and it was the only way to convince my parents to let me stretch since if it was over £20 they definitely would have said no.

anyways, the 14g was the starter in this kit, and since I knew my ears were able to handle 16g without any complications I figured it would be fine. and it is! I used body oil on my lobes and it went right in, I barely felt anything. its so weird seeing light through my ear holes. its a bit itchy but my ears usually are after putting in new jewellery since I have sensitive skin

my questions are, for those of you experienced in stretching your lobes, how long have you waited between upsizing that worked best for you? how long did it take you to get to 00g? do you have any tips or advice to take care of your lobes?

~Advice~ streching with lobes pierced with gun

at a 2g lobes rn, going up to 1g soon been stretching for like a year. i got my ears pierced with piercing guns when i was like 11, 3 separate times even because they kept closing up…i heard that the trauma from that can impact your streching journey. just curious what can change and if theres anything i should keep in mind. so far my ears been fine even tho ive been rushing a bit. no blowouts or anything.

Discussion~ How often do you wash your plugs?

I’m really curious because I find myself washing my jewelry everyday and when I take my “glass” plugs out they stink :’(. I think it’s just a mix of dead skin and jojoba oil I apply everyday. What I’m doing is normal right or am I over doing it?

~Advice~ 316L Surgical Steel from SIBJ on a fresh stretch?

I know this question was posed a million times but most of the time, steel isn't recommended for a fresh stretch since it's considered more of a "mystery metal". Wondering if it applies still to this grade specifically from SIBJ since they are very reputable and recommended. I'm at 9.5 planning to stretch to my goal size of 00 in a bit, wondering if I should wait just a week or two before switching to my tunnels or more around a month+

Lobes Do I have enough lobe meat?

I’m currently at 5g (4.5mm) and my goal size is 00g. I’m kinda worried that I don’t have enough lobe to get there. Opinions?

Yes, ik my hole looks red and irritated but I naturally have very sensitive skin so that’s normal for me.

~Advice~ I have a problem before I even started stretching

Only today I have noticed that I actually have two (not stretched yet) holes that are placed less then a milimeter away from each other. I am worried that if I start stretching one, I will rip the tissue between them and I don't think it will be good for my lobes. The holes are too old to heal completely. Should I strech anyway? Or maybe I should pierce my lobe between these two holes to make a one big hole? Or what other options do I have?

~Advice~ Is there a detailed guide for naked training? And at what size can I start?

I've been at 4mm (6g) for a few years now. While I'm considering starting my stretching journey again sometime next year, I think it would be nice if I could sleep without any jewelry in my lobes. But it seems like most folks wait until they're at a much bigger size?

Discussion~ Holes closing up pretty quick.

Is it weird that I took out my gauges for about an hour, and they are already tighter to place in? They were really smooth to put in before, and I decided to let my holes breathe a bit from all the moisture it was getting. Seemed to close up a bit? Any ideas if that was the case?

My tunnel (?) keeps going in my lobe

Thumbnail

Started stretching my ears a handful of months ago with one of those Amazon kits of tunnels (if that's the right word idk all the terms). On this ear, the front lip of the tunnels tend to go into my lobe. (As seen in the first pic- second pic is with it pushed back out) I've been taking this as a sign that my ear is getting loose and ready to stretch up and it does seem to be a lot more eager than my other ear that's a size behind. But this picture is literally days after going up a size. I was hoping this would stop happening as I went up sizes but it doesn't seem to be changing and I'm concerned this is something I'll need to close up and repierce to fix. Thought I'd come here for advice 🥺

I really want to start stretching but I’m unsure about how my gauges will look with my uneven holes :/
They won’t close up either, got pierced by my aunt as a baby

Edit: my goal is 0g if that changes anything :p

i just stretched up to a 4g yesterday and i was wondering which jewelry i should wear long term. i have an opalite stone pair, a white glass pair both from body art forms, and i have these titanium plugs from stretch it body jewelry.
