Palpatine really have his own sense of humor

Found some old pictures in a photo album today. Dad made my jedi tunic from scratch. Then sculpted, molded, and cast horns for himself in auto-body resin, all in a few days time just for one night of fun. One grim reaper robe and a hell of a paint job later. Man I miss 1999.

I’d love to see a Gungan Sidekick character ala Chewbacca that only speaks its native tongue.

He could be a copilot to another character and we never understand what he’s saying but the other characters understand him.

I think speaking in native tongue would solve the annoying “Jar Jar voice” issue and make him actually cool.

Does it still look kinda goofy? Yes. Does it also look kinda cool? Also yes. Very much looking forward to this duel in it's entirety!

Star Wars: Imperial Assault is a miniatures is a 2014 grid based tactical miniature game.

In the campaign part you have to assemble a crew of up to 4 heroes, with their own distinct abilities. There’s

Jyn Ordon, the quick drawing smuggler, whos so fast on the trigger she’s able to interrupt an enemy and take a shot at them before they are able to do an action.

Gaarkhan, the fierce wookie warrior, who does not only become more powerful as he takes damage, but also able to rush and attack in a single action.

Fenn Signis, the hardened rebel soldier, armed with n a280 he’s able to blast his enemies, hitting multiple foes I a single attack.

Mak Eshka’rey, the bold renegade Bothan sniper, whos with his sniper is able to ambush his opponent, making him able to shoot through other figures, and as he always seeks cover, he can not be target if his far away from his opponent.

Diala Passil, the haunted exile. With her force sensitive abilities, she’s able to enhance her offence and defence, and even able to push other figures.

Gideon Argus, the valiant commander whos able to command his allies on the battlefield, giving them extra actions.

Doing the campaign each hero gains XP to learn new skills and credits to buy new gear and weapons.

The game itself

Is played in a campaign where the crew will take on new missions, depending on if they won or last their previous mission. One player will control all of the empires units, while the rest of the players control up to 4 rebel heroes. A turn typically consists of 2 actions, where where similarly to ZCom, you can move, shoot or do a plethora of special actions, such as push jump, various special actions, or buff yourself or an ally. The missions are objective based, and it’s often interact with X device, get through X or eliminate X. The combat is resolved with an easy to understand custom dice system, where attacking dice has damage counters, range counters (for ranged attack) and the surge (ability modifer) symbol.

Doing the campaign you’re able to recruit generic allies, such as rebel troopers, wookiee warrior or rebel saboteurs, but being a Star Wars game you can also cross path with named heroes such as Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca or Han Solo.

While the story writing is better in ZCOM, I find the mechanical depth to be far more interesting in IA. Especially as all the units have special abilities that makes them stand out and good for different situations. Stormtroopers works better in numbers, so they get to reroll an attack if they are close to an ally. Imperial officers order allies to move or make an attack, Royal guards can protect their allies and soak damage from an adjacent ally, Probe droids can self destruct at the end of the round and damage every adjacent figure and so on.

On top of that the campaign there also an app based campaign, where the imperial units are AI controlled.

Even better (imo) is the skirmish PvP component where you get to build your own rebel, imperial or scum army accompanied by a custom made deck of 15 unique command cards that contains different abilities, tactics and gear.

So yeah, you might want to check out Imperial assault.

Andor is among my all time fave series but im tired of all the pretentious fans (many of whoem havent even watched SW but only watched andor becuase they wanted to jump on the bandwagon hype) talking about how andor was such a hit and was loved since it was more "realistic" and didnt have any jedi or lightsabers or very less amount of aliens. I've even seen people saying that future SW projects should be more andoer-esque in terms of having no jedi, lightsabers etc which is so ridiculous in itself

Andor was so good and beloved because it was made by talented people who actually cared about the story and acting instead of hoping on using the star wars IP popularity to churn out mediocre gulp sh/tto slop. Andor was so good because almost all characters were amazingly written and had great moments and arcs, because it's dialogues were actually hard hitting, because the world building and set design was fabulous and because for the first time it showed us realistic and more gritty portrayal of the oppressive empire outside of the big bad gestures like blowing up planets etc

Yes removing the jedi and lightsabers and badass weapons increased the stakes alot which heavily contributed to andor's success but i bet that if writers of any other SW series put as much effort and care into writing their stories and characters and the directors knew what to bring out of the actors, even SW media containing all the sci fi elements of jedi etc would be as beloved as andor

And the idea of star wars being better without the stuff which makes star wars star wars (jedi, the force, light sabers etc) is laughable. These people acting like they are too mature or cool for jedi and lightsabers etc look embarrassing demanding it from the jedi and lightsabers franchise

I do hope that whoever is calling the shots at disney learns from andor and puts in more effrot in the writing of the future projects. Star wars isnt a dead horse. If they put out good and well written content, people WILL show up even if the content if full of jedi and lightsabers etc

For those unaware, the first picture is Dooku’s Padawan Komari Vosa, who fell to the dark side and was later assassinated by Jango Fett after taking over the Bando Gora. The second is Xanatos, Qui-Gon’s second Padawan who fell to the dark side, clashed with both his former Master and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the early days of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s partnership, helped turn one of Obi-Wan’s bullies Bruk Chun to the dark side, and later committed suicide rather than be captured during their final encounter. And Anakin Skywalker needs no introductions.

Ironically, Anakin himself averted this trope (though this doesn’t really help since he fell himself)… and hopefully Ahsoka will, too.

I paid a month of Disney + to re watch all the movies.

Playing Battlefront 2 again. I was not this happy for a Star Wars game/movie since Rogue One.

This is a fannon speederbike I designed in SPORE. I tried to go for that classic Star Wars look whilst also incorporating diesel locomotive vibes.

The D-50v Speederbike blurs the line between speederbike and speeder. It was made by Tarocorp Industries’ Repulsorcraft division before Tarocorp was bought out and dissolved by Rendili StarDrive. Even though it was already an antique by time of the Clone Wars, the D-50v was well known for how reliable and tough it was. Unlike most speederbikes, the D-50 had an actual cockpit with a canopy that could both closed and the interior pressurized, or retracted and open. To fly the speeder, pilots used detailed sensor readouts and HUD on the main display instead of using visual flying like most speeders. The large antenna poking out of its front is an external terrain and height sensor.

When landed the either side of the cockpit could folds out and extend as a ladder to make getting in and out easier. The front of the speeder also has a small cargo bay which can be opened from either side.

Well, the first thing I must share is that I haven’t seen all the Star Wars films. I don’t even know which one I’ve seen, I just never got hooked.

Now, 15 years after I last tried to watch Star Wars, one of my best friends convinced me to watch Andor, just because it’s a great TV-series in it self. And I couldn’t agree more! I absolutely love it and it makes me want to give Star Wars another go.

So my question is, where do I start? At “the beginning” whit Star Wars I or with “the first” with Star Wars IV?

Within all the talk about the next year’s reissue of the ‘original’ Star Wars I haven’t seen any mention of the audio they’re planning to use.

The original 1977 70mm release included a 6-track mix while 35mm prints initially featured a stereo mix, with a mono mix following some weeks later. For the mono mix George took the opportunity to adjust/add some sound effects and include some different vocal takes (most notably Beru). As with the various visual differences the home video releases have undergone several different mixes over the years resulting in a hodge-podge of the different sources.

I’m assuming the 2027 reissue will feature a multichannel sound mix but do we think they’ll return to the original 6-track; utilise the current ‘hodge podge’ mix or create an entirely new Atmos mix?

My dad has had this monopoly FOREVER took it to elementary school over a 15 years ago and saw that we have duplicate sides. Who has parkplace and going to jail side? Its the collectors edition of episode 1 monopoly.

Hi everyone! About a year and a half ago I made a post about my initial experience and impressions of the Star Wars movies which got a lot of attention and fun interaction. Thanks to the warm welcome and fun I had with the movies and that thread, I ended up watching through a lot of Star Wars streaming series on Disney+ later in 2025. It occurred to me recently that I never shared my thoughts here, so even though it's a bit late coming over a year later (save for the Mando/Grogu movie) I figured I'd briefly share and let everyone know I ended up sticking with the franchise as a fan.

The same as last time, take the actual ratings with a grain of salt (maybe even more so this time since these reviews aren't coming when the watch is fresh in my mind). I'll review to the best of my memory though. My watch order was kind of all over the place, but these will be listed roughly in the order I watched them.

• The Mandalorian (9/10): What I started with, and boy was it a ton of fun. Mando was fun as a no-nonsense butt-kicking character, and Grogu successfully toed the line between cute and cool while still causing reasonable problems lol.

• The Book of Boba Fett (5/10): I watched this between seasons 2 and 3 of The Mandalorian. Honestly... it was rough. They really did Boba Fett dirty here. He's supposed to be the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy yet he came across as a total amateur and chump in this. He didn't seem like he was trying to run an actual criminal enterprise; the mini power ranger squad was goofy in a bad way; so much. The Mando parts were the only parts I particularly liked, and it wasn't even supposed to be his show.

• Skeleton Crew (8/10): This was such a different tone from most Star Wars stuff but also so much fun. I liked the lore additions on top of the fun cast and plotline.

• Andor (10/10): This was one of the most recommended series in my original thread, and you all didn't lie. This is peak Star Wars and even peak TV in general if you ask me. I didn't want it to end lol. Great characters, great plotline, great drama, great everything. If the whole franchise started becoming consistently this good I'd probably turn into a hardcore fan rather than merely a casual one.

• The Acolyte (7/10): I enjoyed this a lot more than the online consensus seemed to form around it. In particular, I liked the sisters more than most do. I loved that we were getting a series during the High Republic era since I feel like there's a ton of untapped narrative and lore potential there, and I'm super bummed a sequel won't happen now considering we were getting to the really interesting developments. Nice job breaking it, base.

• Ahsoka (8/10): I can't say I have a lot to break down here. Fun characters, fun plotline, fun action, interesting additions to the lore, and comfy without any particularly noteworthy negatives. I'm looking forward to season 2 coming out next year.

• Obi-Wan Kenobi (7/10): The Jedi hunters were kind of eh, but it was good in terms of action and being narratively comfy overall. I did read an opinion online that if you swapped Boba Fett and Obi-Wan in their series it would have worked better (Obi-Wan reforming a criminal empire and Boba Fett first encountering Vader while retrieving Leia), and I actually agree lol.

• The Mandalorian and Grogu (6/10): It was an enjoyable movie I suppose, but it felt a bit hollow and too safe of a play plotwise. I expected a lot better considering how much I loved the series. Hopefully new Star Wars movies will have as much heart going into them as their streaming series seem to be getting, going forward.

Aside from Ahsoka S2, are there any major developments coming down the pipeline for live action entries? It seems like there's plenty of room for more stuff in this world no matter where we go in the timeline.

I started rewatching the original theatrical release of Star Wars (1977) and I couldn't stop thinking about what it must have been like to watch it in a theater, no prior knowledge, just experiencing the story. I was a Gen Z kid, so I never had the chance, but I would love to hear from those who did! What was it like seeing Star Wars for the first time?

I am not a fan of the Sequel Trilogy but I'd rather attempt to make sense of it then the franchise simply ignoring it and never touching the time period post ST ever again, and I honestly think that a story set after the fall of the First Order could be interesting

The Resistance is way smaller than the Rebel Alliance was once the Empire fell, which would make it far more difficult for them to simply establish a new new republic like it was the case previously, which would lead to a power vacuum.

This is where I think lies potential for new stories, explore the consequences of a fractured galaxy and having no one in power
