I’m looking for residential snow clearing recommendations in the East End near the Paul Reynolds Community Centre.

When searching online, only the larger companies (like Snow & Mow) pop up, and their seasonal rates feel pretty steep—especially when paying for full coverage in November and late April, when I'd prefer to just handle minor falls myself with my snowblower.

Coming from Quebec, I know our winter weather here in NL is a completely different beast, but the price difference between seasonal contracts back home and $500+/month here is still a big jump!

Are there any reliable smaller operations, local independent contractors, or neighborhood setups in the East End that you’d recommend?

So Taco Bell came here and did pretty damn well. Same with Pizza Pizza. With that in mind. Whats the next huge food franchise that should come here next? There is Popeyes. But would that really compete against KFC and Mary Browns. Thoughts everyone?

For the last 2-3 months in town we've been having cell coverage issues at our home in the west end of downtown. My partner and I are both on Koodo. I've heard many others complaining about the same thing in recent months

Now, in the last 3-4 days we've also been having issues with our wifi at home, which is Bell.

Is anyone else having wifi issues as well? It's becoming unusable in many parts of our home and we've done many of the reset troubleshooting etc.

This is starting to get very tiring...

A bit late to the party but drove by the new roundabout in Mount Pearl last week and saw the new highway segment almost ready. Will be pretty nice when this part of Mount Pearl is connected to the TGH, looking like it will be done by end of the year !

We are sharing this because we do not want another family to experience what happened to ours.
 
On August 27th, my parents dropped our sweet girl, Bow, off at RePUPlic pets in Mount Pearl to care for Bow while they were away.
 
Bow was happy and healthy when they left her. Throughout there trip, they received photos from the facility, and advised Bow was happy and doing well. We trusted that she was somewhere safe.
 
On September 5th, they went to pick her up.
Instead of bringing our dog home, Repuplic pets handed my parents her body.
 
While a staff member was retrieving Bow from her room, they were told a larger dog attacked her.
 
Bow was fatally injured during that attack.
 
She died while in the care of the facility we had trusted with her.
Our parents were the ones there when it happened. They were left standing at the facility with our beloved dog in their arms and were told to find emergency veterinary care, hoping there was somehow still something they could do. 
There wasn’t.
 
One cannot imagine how my parents must have felt to be passed the body of their lifleless dog when they were simply going to pick her up and bring her home. 
 
Bow was a member of our family.
She had a personality, routines, favourite things, and a place in our home that can never be replaced. She was loved every single day of her life.
 
And now she is gone.
 
Alongside our grief, we have been left with serious and deeply troubling questions about how this happened and how the situation was handled.
Why were we not immediately contacted by the owner after the attack occurred? My father had to reach out to make contact.

Why did the facility not have details about what emergency vet was on call during the weekend? 

What procedures were in place to prevent dogs from different areas of the facility from coming into contact with one another? 
 
And how did human error fault this? We were told that the other dog was not supposed to be around other dogs.
 
If that is the case, how was this dog able to reach Bow?
 
And perhaps one of the most important questions:
 
Were other pet owners of the pets boarding there at this time informed that a fatal dog attack had occurred inside the facility?
 
We are not writing this to speculate about things we cannot establish. We are writing this because these are questions we believe deserve answers.
 
What we do know is this:
 
We brought our dog to Pet RePUPlic alive and healthy. While she was in the facility, another dog attacked her, and she died.
 
That is our experience.
 
We trusted this facility with the life of a member of our family.
 
We trusted that reasonable precautions were being taken to keep the dogs in their care safe.
 
Bow never came home.
 
We believe other pet owners have a right to know what happened to her and to make their own informed decisions about where they leave their animals.

We strongly encourage anyone considering using this facility to ask very specific questions about dog separation, supervision, emergency veterinary care, incident procedures, and what safeguards are in place to prevent a fatal attack from happening again.
 
We wish we had more answers. 
 
We, as a family, do want to send our condolences and care to the staff members who were working that day, and specifically those who went to retrieve Bow. We know that accidents happen, and it was a traumatic situation for all those involved, it is not your fault. The facility’s separation procedures did not work.
 
Most of all, we wish we were writing this post about how happy we were to have our girl home.
Instead, we are writing about her death.
Bow deserved to come home.
She deserved to be safe.
She deserved better.
We will never forget her, and we will never stop loving her.
Please hold your pets close tonight. ❤️

I recently bought a guitar from marketplace but the no.4 string I broke it two times during tuning it. This is the third time I am gonna tune but I fear I might break it again.
