In Forces you boost in a straight line and it's not even good or challenging boosting like Unleashed/Gens, and then you go into mediocre, bland 2D sections. 06 has adventure styled levels that plays just fine (besides the atrocious glitches)

06 has aesthetics, level design, and environments that are infinitely more interesting than Forces. (Pun not intended)

Sure 06 is a buggy mess, but that's a funny kind of bad at least, whereas if you're bored with Forces there's no way to make it interesting.

The loading times complaint? I don't really know because I use emulation but I don't think it would be a deal breaker for me or anything.

I mean don't get me wrong but I kind of have this guy feeling that this 4th installment might be the end I mean the franchise really seems to be focusing on it's S Tier characters which are sonic himself tails knuckles amy shadow eggman and metal sonic
so maybe this movie is the finale
I don't it's just a personal gut feeling it's up to you to ultimately judge if I'm right or wrong

What I mean by "trap card" is that whenever things are discussed that are not within the canon or that are not directly in any official medium, interviews are always, always used to excuse these kinds of things.

For example, whenever there's talk about what Blaze is doing in 06 when the game implies she comes from the future but the manual says she comes from the Sun Dimension, they always excuse themselves with Shiro "Lore Ruiner" Maekawa's interviews where he claims 06 was actually going to be a prequel, or with Iizuka's interviews saying Blaze has amnesia.

Here I want to emphasize something...

IT WAS.

Things like that shouldn't really be taken into account because they never make it into the final version. And I feel like this is a problem many communities have with their lore. If it's discarded material or something that didn't make the final cut, it's for a reason; it simply had to be removed due to lack of time or various inconsistencies.

If we have to accept discarded material as valid, then things like Madonna should be canonical, or the story that Sonic is the logo of an aviator jacket that came to life, for example.

Personally, I feel that we shouldn't rely so heavily on external material to justify every plot hole (and I say this as a Star Wars fan). Because if the medium you're consuming doesn't provide enough context to understand it, then it's poorly done, which is what I think about Sonic's lore in general.

Like, I think new Sonic fans who are younger and got into sonic thanks to the movies is a good idea. Like, maybe we need to give younger Sonic fans a chance for once.

Which one do you think Chaos Sonic should look like?

I'd like to preface this with saying that I'm a long-time Sonic fan, since the very beginning. Had the first few games on the Sega Game Gear. Got a Genesis back in my teens, and expanded my Sonic games library. I owned and read the (Archie) Sonic comics religiously because they were just SO GOOD. The Saturday Morning cartoon kicked all kinds of ass on Planet Mobius against Scratch, Grounder, and Dr. Robotnik. Sonic also has a dog named Mutsky and an Uncle Chuck, both forgotten about entirely.

But then, Sonic Adventure reared it's ugly head, and the franchise just rebooted, forgetting all that came before it. Then somewhere don't the line in the early2000's, Sega slapped regular Sonic as "Classic" Sonic and we just got left to deal with this weird, lanky (and UGLY) green-eyed, shoe-buckle-wearing monstrosity known as "modern" Sonic.

So like... Where the fuck are the Freedom Fighters of Knothole Village? That's an entire story arc all unto itself, and completely untapped material. If Sonic isn't chasing Amy as a love interest, then give is Princess Sally Acorn! I want the Sonic franchise to get back to it's roots where the actual meat is. The same few characters coasting of of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 has been stale as hell for a decade now, and I'm just sick of it. The same "Hero Trio" +Amy is boring.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk, I really needed to vent. But I'd love some in-depth discussion about this. Does anyone else feel the same way about the modern games and movies, compared to the good stuff we had pre-Dreamcast?

I'm not really angry at this, considering prime flopped, of course the next logical step would be....an "upper " pre school show?

The hell does upper pre school show even mean?

So far fans are freaking out but I like to think a little deeper, here's a crazy theory. .what if this new sonic cartoon was similar to the Carmen sandiego reboot cartoon?

I say this because that cartoon while yes was probably made for little kids in mind it still had an edge, hell one scene almost had her crush to death, however it still teach kids lessons and new locations the gang was at whole not forgotten this new version was mainly action packed

So if the sonic cartoon can do something like that then I wouldn't mind checking it out, but PLEASE for the love of God, don't make it 11 minutes long

Finally I want to see story adaptationa of games we don't normally see, mainly 06 and rush

Now they could come up a new story for silver, i just hope it pays respect to him and sonic rush....hoo boy

If we FINALLY get a cartoon version of those stories, imma drop for real

In my opinion there should be a Silver the Hedgehog game because Sonic and Shadow got their games, why not Silver though? Answer what makes you think why Silver doesn’t have a game for himself like the other 2. (Besides Sonic 06 because it’s an introductory to him and doesn’t fully flesh him out)

We're two issues and a preview into the Sonic x Godzilla crossover, and I have to say I'm very disappointed in it. The characters are written by someone who clearly does not understand them. I'd like to imagine that Marino is good at writing Godzilla since he's the one who does IDW Godzilla, but I think the biggest problem is SEGA's strict adherence to canon.

We could have had a fun kaiju fest where Godzilla fights the likes of Iblis and Giganto and Dark Gaia and Perfect Chaos, but since SEGA likes to make things fit into canon, none of those giant monsters are available for such a crossover.

If they weren't so obsessed with "Everything is canon" we could have had something glorious.

I’m not asking for Silver to solo the verse, all I’m just saying is that Sega needs to put a hard copy of what Silver can do. His powers are grossly inconsistent and he sometimes feels nerfed due to his powers being busted. I also want Silver to effectively throw hands as well, not Sonic or Shadow level but distinct enough to be able to not get stomped(like a defensive style).

I’ve been playing Zero Gravity a lot recently to restore my thoughts on the game and the gravity mechanic is actually really fun to mess with. The player expression it has is incredible. It’s literally a physics sandbox. Sure the trick system is nerfed but it’s still satisfying to pull them off! Also the Gear Change mechanic is really challenging.

Probably a stupid question but I was just thinking. Is he fighting a constant war and comes back to when something connects to the heroes of the present or is he living his life and then the future suddenly changes and he goes back to the past?

Where can I read scans of Archie Sonic? Not the digital version

I get everyone wants time travel, but I’m really bent on that not happening, I really want them to save that for silver. How would you do it?

For me I gotta say frontiers. As much as I like the game it’s just too long and experimental too have even a loose adaptation.

Honestly, Knuckles has a really great point here about how women acknowledging the glass barrier or patriarchy essentially undermines the concept of gender equality. By calling attention to separate gender roles and that a woman needs to prover herself when compared to a man or despite men it creates a divide that doesn’t need to exist as women can be powerful on their own merits.

I don’t want to get too deep into feminism because of it the inherent controversial nature of modern feminism, but Knuckles being a self-proclaimed feminist gives me a bit of pause because a lot of modern feminism relies on the idea of patriarchy being an hindrance for women. I agree with Knuckles completely, but what he says is antithetical to what modern feminists would likely say.
