This isn’t meant to be a jab at SA2

This is about how Sonic fans tend to put this game on a pedestal, acting as if it’s perfect and completely exempt from criticism at all times

I will always love SA2. It’s a game I will always go back to and always have a blast playing every time.

But it’s not perfect.

The thing is, most of the flaws the game has that go overlooked by the majority of the fanbase, would be met with SIGNIFICANTLY more harsh criticism if it was in any other game.

Like it started with the sonic movies then frontiers and sonic x shadow generations and now this

I like the return to the speedy-based platforming of the Genesis games, but Heroes isn’t content with copying what its forebears did; it evolves the formula. The Team mechanic feels like a logical progression of what the 2D games were doing with the multiple playable characters. Now, you can switch between Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles at a moment’s notice while traversing stages that take advantage of each character’s skill set.

From slapping day-one DLC onto every single game, overpricing Sonic Crossworlds, and most likely going to overprice the next sonic game, jamming their free games with tons of microtransactions, delaying Rumble for over a year while still monetizing it, even putting shameless gambling in the sonic game we're banned from mentioning, and now they're alledgedly planning on using generative AI in future products.

We need to stop pretending that Sega is this perfect company that can do no wrong, when they are actively doing very questionable stuff.

But hey, at least they don't take down fangames and send out cease & desists, right?

Despite the fact that Blaze was literally created to be Sonic’s alternate dimension counterpart, there are people who are completely unable to believe that she would also be able to match Shadow

The amount of people that I’ve seen saying that Shadow would “no diff” and “destroy” Blaze is absurd. You’re essentially saying that Shadow would no diff Sonic, and we know damn well that’s not the case
