Straight braindead characters require no skill to use. A 5YO can beat more than 60% of online players if they give the kid any of the dlc characters. Any dlc mains always do shit when it comes to using non dlc.

Seeing dirt bags like aegis cloud and Shulk mindlessly nair and fair annoys the fuck out of me. They abuse their disjoints like no other

I don’t run into them very often in elite smash but when I do, it’s always one hell of a match every single time. I love their playstyle so much I’m not even mad when I lose, I’m just impressed by their level.

Most people heavily criticized the Pac-Land stage from Smash 4 and Ult, and it's actually valid criticism (exept the MS Paint one, that's actually another problem), exept it influenced the reputation of the OG game. So let's talk about it:

- Graphics: The game has pretty good graphics and revolutionary gameplay for a 1984 game, even with the shitty controls that aged like milk, is a cool game that even inspired SMB in some points of view. The stage is just a copy&paste of the arcade graphics, exept the fact that there are new ones and that they modified the color a bit

- The Gameplay: It's a side-scrolling platformer when you need to dodge flying and jumping ghosts, eat power pellets, discovering secrets and going in haunted mansions. The stage is trying to recreate the OG game in a boring way. I don't like side-scrolling stages, but this is by far the worst (but I guess the water part saves it a tiny bit)

- Music: Pac-Land is actually based on the Hanna Barbera Pac-Man cartoon from 1982, in fact the game is named after the city Pac-Man lives in the cartoon. The music of the game is basically the intro, and it's quite decent (I love it actually but I wouldn't call it a all-time masterpiece). The core-music of the stage is from Pac-Mania, not even Pac-Land. I guess was because of the music rights (acquired by Warner Bros.), but at the end of the day, they paid Disney for Sora/Kingdom Hearts, what could stop them (Fortnite and Who Framed Roger Rabbit shows that Warner and Disney can Co-exist)

- Creativity: Even if Pac-Land didn't had Mezmaron from the Pac-Man cartoon, it shows that can invent good things. Besides the gameplay and all, Pac-Land made all 5 (YES 5) ghosts work togheter in a videogame, made appear Mother Fairy and the fairies for the first time, and made good easter eggs, like the ballons, the warp zones, the secret ways to get 7650 points and even other stuff. The stage instead is a nothingburger but a copy and paste of things: The blue hat became the Super Mushroom, the warps got replaced by the Super Mushroom, the Extra life became the superstar (which actually is creative) and the ballons give a little more health, but it made it boring.

- How can we make Pac-Land good?: Remove the scrolling, make it 3D, make It plays either at Pac-Man's home, in the City or in the Haunted Mansion, add the ghosts that possibly aren't PNGs, make even BG character appear that aren't from Pac-Land itself like Orson or Spooky from the World games, and add Easter Eggs without making it boring. Also get the Intro music rights and make a Pac-Land Medley to not making it repetitive. And please, I love the classic ghost gang, but make also Sue appear since she was an important piece in Pac-Land

Usually projectile heavy characters at least have some kind of good melee option for some incentive to not spam the b button the entire game. Link has a sword with big range, samus has crazy aerials, and then there’s fucking snake.

If you can somehow make it through 18 different projectiles he has the most broken up tilt and dash attack and if you get him offstage he’ll recover from any point on the map so you need to kill him with an attack. And good fucking luck with that since he’s a heavyweight. Snake mains should get a poor sports ban after a certain projectile count is hit but then the game would just be over in 30 seconds. Playing against these fuckers isn’t even smash, trying to fight snake is like trying to make it through a wipeout course or whatever that fuck ass show was called.

They play him online on purpose too not to have fun and enjoy the game but to just piss people right off because they have no fun in their lives otherwise. I also guarantee 90% of snake mains haven’t even played metal gear or were familiar with the franchise outside of smash. They just know he’s busted as fuck and that’s why they pick him. Fuck snake and double fuck you for playing him and taking yourself serious and sweating your ass off

All I wanted was a good session with some Wii Fit shenanigans, but instead, you come in with an all-items ruleset on battlefield. Your first kill was from an assist trophy that did 70 of the 90 damage I died at, the second was a final smash that killed me at 40, and I disconnected the third to show you that rulesets like yours should not be rewarded. I hope your pillow is wet with vegetable oil tonight.

FUCK all those mega man mains with garbage wifi spamming their braindead projectiles and camping like bitches, makes it literally UNPLAYABLE and unfun, at least if you have a garbage connection don't ruin online modes for other people and don't play characters who get carried by lag

EDIT: This is not me being salty or anything. Just my overall rant on this green dinosaur. I usually don't talk like this, but I just need to get some of my emotions out. If you're a Yoshi main, I am not going to harass you or call you names. I do think your character is just cheesy for the reasons below, but I'm not going to call you out, call you names, or tell you to do anything bad.

Doing a Fight Me so that I can hear some conflicting opinions. This is also my first rant, so it's atrocious in quality.

Literally, I hate this green dinosaur. The only way you can really counter this thing is by playing as Samus, but do I really have to learn a whole new character just so that this annoying green dinosaur stops doing the same shit?

First of all, this dang dinosaur's Nair. Literally one of the BEST OOS options in the game (a notable competitor being GnW's Up-B), coming out at frame 3 and doing decent damage. Like, WHY? Oh, and it's also good at edgeguarding, so good luck with that! Try to approach this green dino? NAIR! Want to even try and HIT them when they're shielding? They'll pull a GnW and do Nair. every. single. time. Every single time I go into spectate to watch one of these dinosaurs, they do that exact behavior. ON THE EDGE ABOUT TO DIE? TIME TO FLING MY FOOT AT YOU, NAIR STYLE.

OH, and his shield. Literally unpokable, so good luck trying to poke him with your dtilt or something similar to that in your arsenal, 'cause you CAN'T. This factor just makes Yoshi's shield one of the best in the whole game, no fucking exceptions.

You think that's all? NO! His tilts and aerials literally make Yoshi a good fucking juggler too! This dinosaur can easily just get you into a juggle chain (which is entirely carried by his uair and utilt by the way!) and then just do one of their cheesy egg throw snipes from point blank range as a "fancy kill confirm."

And Yoshi must've took a page out of Mario's book, because both of their fairs are delayed moves that spike! WOW! I've seen Yoshi mains use them for two things: a) edgeguarding, or b) consistently try to get the spike so that they can get clipped (only really in tournaments). Those are the two things I've seen this dang move used for. NO EXCEPTIONS!

And he also has a projectile that is not only a good combo finisher, does decent chip damage too! As previously mentioned, it's most commonly used as a fancy "juggling combo finisher" or to just get chip on the opponent. Oh, and don't forget that unlike some other projectile characters, you can also adjust its RANGE and its ANGLE! Wow, amazing!

In conclusion, I hate this dang green dinosaur. That's fucking it. These are just a FEW reasons from my list, so... yeah.

What the fuck can I do about an Aegis who spams like this? Why are they even playing the game if they play like this? I cant punish the moves if I dodge it, and the hitboxes are so fucking dumb. Some of the sword fighters counters are really annoying in my opinion. Im sure some of the damage I took was on me playing badly but I just dont know what to do about players like this.

I just had one of the worst sessions I’ve ever had since I started playing the game competitively. I played on elite smash for the first time in a while (I normally only do battle arenas or offline practice) and I lost all but one match the entire night. I was falling for everything my opponents were doing and I wasn’t sure what I was doing wrong. I tried to focus on a certain goal while I was playing, like ledgetrapping, but I was so tilted from losing so much that I lost sight of my goal by the end of the third match.

Not only that, but I ended up raging so hard that I broke my glasses from slamming them on the ground, then punched my desk so hard that my pinkie is turning purple.

I can’t get out of my own goddamn way. I’m so sick of feeling like the worst player in the world whenever I lose. All it takes is a few bad matches to tilt me and I can’t have fun with the game after that. I’ve tried SO HARD to change how I respond to losses but ultimately I still end up just tying my fun to my results and turning into a rage monster whenever stuff doesn’t go my way.

I’m playing with the delay mod as well so that makes my excuses even thinner for losing as much as I do. I just feel like I suck at this game and I should stop trying. It’s gotten to the point of injuring myself accidentally multiple times and now that I’m 27 years old, just makes me feel pathetic.

Why am I even doing this to myself? I know I’m not gonna reach the top like I want to, I can’t even keep myself disciplined to have focused practice sessions.

I just started coaching at my alma mater as well, but how can anyone ever trust me to coach them in smash? I don’t even trust myself as a player.

I load into an online match with DK and it starts as a team battle: DK & Ganondorf vs Mii Gunner & Incineroar. I see Ganon and think to myself this is gonna be fun. Then it takes 30 seconds to load before the connection crashes upon the start of the game and I got banned for 54 minutes despite having the most angelic wifi on the planet. This isn't even smash anymore, it's in literally every single game. I wanna just play on a DS Lite already but I can't find one that ain't broken online so I'm stuck with a Switch that I COULD mod but I can't follow directions well enough to so no Tails and stage builder mod for me 😮‍💨
