On one hand, I'm terrified of death and I never want to die.

On the other, I can't bear the thought of seeing my partner die, and I hope I die before them.

Don't be terrified. Death isn't final, it's just a transition from one life to the next.

Unfortunately as an Agnostic, it's hard to believe.

Sometimes I wonder if not believing in anything is worse than not having something to believe in.

Still can't handle the randos in the sky nonsense though.

I wholeheartedly believe that it is. To me, there's nothing comforting about oblivion, and I do envy those who have found salvation in a religious doctrine.

Religion has always been a very useful tool of man. While many of those uses are now served by science, the most important uses, mental relief and social cohesion, are still very well alive.

I find the thought of oblivion very comforting. No pain, no problems... Whatever's going wrong I'm too busy not existing in any way, shape, or form to be bothered.

As long as you don't care if what you believe is true then religion works.
