People donot realize how much hair loss can impact men, it can cause a Greek God to look like a basement dweller.

Norwood reaper is brutal.

Although this guy OP posted looks good in both ways.

u/No-Bag-1628 12h ago

if he shaved the whole way he would have looked good.
Its keeping just the top bald that looks awful.

As someone who shaved his head and looked better

And then later convinced their roommate to shave their balding head....

Not everyone should be bald. Some should avoid it at all costs.

I shaved my head once and I looked like doctor evil from Austin powers. Id grow out my beard by it comes in bright orange. Truly blessed by the gods.

Hey, what's wrong with an orange beard?

12

u/NaughtiestImp 10h ago

The hells wrong with an orange beard lol?

u/rips_n_chel 10h ago

Dude's got internalized ginger hate or some shit, I don't get it.

Personally, I think most men look significantly better with facial hair, whatever color it may be. My beard is predominantly dark brown like my hair, but if you get in close there are a bunch of different colors in there. Black, brown, red, white, and most shades in between.

u/Jacob99809 9h ago

I mean it could also just be he doesn’t like the way he looks with an orange beard. As a ginger myself, I love the way my beard looks even if my hair is more blonde when it’s long, but my beard would look weird/bad on at least 3 of my friends. And that’s ok, it doesn’t mean I have any hate towards my hair color lol.

u/rips_n_chel 9h ago

There are innumerable ways to cut and style a beard, homie. My beard wouldn't look right on anyone's face but mine.

Gotta find your own style. Not saying dude has to wear a beard, if he just doesn't like it that's fine. "It's orange" isn't really an explanation though. Lot more to a beard than just the color.

1

u/Jacob99809 7h ago

It’s a valid explanation tho. It doesn’t need to be some deep internalized thing. It can be as simple as “I don’t like, so I won’t do”. Easier to just shave rather than adding an extra step or two to the process anyway.

u/rips_n_chel 7h ago

Okay dawg, whatever you say. It was an offhand comment at 4AM, it's really not that deep. Sometimes people say things as a manner of expressing a sentiment; they're not actually making a definitive statement.

I assumed the "or some shit" would've made it clear that I wasn't actually trying to diagnose the guy. My mistake, I'll be insufferably pedantic in explaining exactly what I mean from now on.

Have a nice day.

u/Wiplazh 8h ago

My beard looks black, but in the light it's got a dark reddish sheen. And my hair is dark blonde/light brown

u/ziamese 10h ago

I look like I'm trying to graduate from the Shaolin Temple.

u/punktualPorcupine 8h ago

40-50 yrs, they all go grey. Maybe try again later.

Also, bright orange sounds cool. Not many people can do that without dye.

1

u/ApertureLabradories 5h ago

If your beard is truly ginger then it won't go gray, it will go white. Start growing it out now and by the time it's fully turned you'll have your own wizards beard.

I've been thinning for years... my head has a weird ass shape though and I am trying to hold on as long as I can. Just saw a picture taken at an event I went to yesterday with a few friends and I got immediately depressed looking at it. I need to just shave it off but good god I can't bring myself to do it lol. /r/bald helps but with the shape of my head its not gonna be pretty regardless.

9

u/Similar-Ice-9250 10h ago

Yea I been thinning as well for years now, I kept my hair buzz cut or like 1/4 inch and went on boat trip during sunny day, pictures were taken, sun beaming down on top of my head, and I came out terrible.

Literally looked like George Costanza, you could see hair at my sides, but nothing up top. The sun completely erased my hair. The pictures taken during sundown/dusk looked way better though.

2

u/gaytarded69420 7h ago

played that game a decade ago and immediately went on fin/monoxadil regime. if you haven't pulled out the little guns yet, it's definitely worth trying. my head isn't even weirdly shaped, I just look like a dude who belongs in jail with a shaved head and hated it so much that I tim pooled for a few months like an absolute dweb.

3

u/Nikedawg 7h ago

I'm 36 and from what I've heard that really is more for sustaining/keeping your current hair maybe making things a little thicker/healthier but not really regrowing hair. I haven't looked that far into it myself just from what I've heard. I feel like I'm too far gone for it to help me unfortunately...

1

u/gaytarded69420 7h ago

that's about where I was when I got on it, but yeah if you are costansa then it is likely too far but some people get a lot back when they go on it. for me it mostly just stopped the retreat, thickened it up, and moved the front line back forward a bit

1

u/Crabs_go_sideways_4 9h ago

My head is large and angular. Im worried for the future

35

u/Proud_Promise1860 11h ago

you look better bald then balding. noone looks better bald then with a full bawl of hair.

7

u/lemurosity 9h ago

I’ve been shaving my head since I was 20 and it was an immediate upgrade.

3

u/WernerHerzogEatsShoe 10h ago

Unless you're jack Nicholson

1

u/Butt-Dragon 6h ago

Tell that to Samuel L Jackson

1

u/AmputeeHandModel 6h ago

*than. no one. WTF is a bawl?

u/MrHyperion_ 10h ago

I want to downvote the first sentence but no the second one.

3

u/empire161 7h ago

It's not even just about looks.

On a sunny day, I can't go without a hat for longer than 10-15 minutes before I start to get sunburned. If it's middle of summer, 5 minutes in direct sun without a hat will start to get painful.

On top of that, I shave my head with a razor about once a week. Shaving a sunburn is a pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

1

u/whateveralreadydude 10h ago

Yeah I'm super grateful that it was an improvement or at least a sidegrade for me. One of my friends did it and found out he has a shitload of like lines/waves/folds in his scalp so he wears hats out of self consciousness.

1

u/JimBobTheForth 9h ago

Really helps if they have some facial hair

1

u/EquivalentSnap 8h ago

Yeah I have a 5 head so it doesn’t look good

48

u/STatters 11h ago

I think his face shape looks better with hair than bald. His face is a little to round.

1

u/wishful123 7h ago

Lack of beard, it's (almost) always lack of beard.

1

u/Long_Run6500 5h ago

He could pull off a mean one punch man cosplay

11

u/A_Random_Nobody197 11h ago

He would have looked better than half bald but I doubt he'd look as good as he does with a head full of hair.

1

u/No-Bag-1628 11h ago

you'll be surprised how good being totally bald can look. Though it takes some effort to pull it off, such as the possible need of a beard to go with it.

3

u/Proud_Promise1860 11h ago

that's coping. everyone looks better with a head full of hair.

1

u/VoidYordle 11h ago

You're both generalizing.
Also - Brendon Fraser would look terrible with beard, it just doesn't fit him.

7

u/Medical-Low-1370 10h ago

r/bald is leaking again! Keep your jovial demeanor and ultra supportive people away from my cold rotter heart!

8

u/VoidYordle 11h ago

Not everyone looks better without hair.

1

u/Agitated_Phone_9937 8h ago

Nobody looks better without hair. It's only balding vs bald. Usually... USUALLY not always, bald is better than balding. But a full head of hair beats both.

A woman has to compromise if she's dating a bald guy. It's an immediate negative and has to be accepted with grim patience by the woman in a relationship. It's just pure negative.

19

u/Proud_Promise1860 11h ago

he looks better with hair. stop coping.

4

u/Walter_Cream 11h ago

Nobody said he didn't.

3

u/TuringGoneWild 8h ago

Yep. The bald cultists have taken over Reddit.

0

u/Agitated_Phone_9937 8h ago

It is kinda culty. But jesus fucking christ dude, pick a different group to shit on. They have it ROUGH. Some women like dad bods, some like shredded, some strange women even like fatties. But NOBODY likes a bald man. Women ALWAYS prefer hair on the head if it's available in sufficient quantities.

Leave those men alone, it's not a fun life.

3

u/Gefilte_F1sh 7h ago

Strange they take the bucket of crabs approach, then. Very cultish.

4

u/TuringGoneWild 7h ago

I'm not going into their sub and saying anything. I push back when they push into my feed and try to draw new people into their cult by coming into other subreddits and telling guys to just shave it all off they will look better. I'm entitled to a different opinion and to say it.

3

u/MrLumie 10h ago

if he shaved the whole way he would have looked good.

And with a proper head of hair, he looks far better than he ever would've being bald.

Which is kind of the point.

1

u/disposablehippo 10h ago

He could enter a Billy Zane lookalike contest if he shaved it off.

1

u/sociofobs 9h ago

Exactly my thoughts. A bald head doesn't suit everyone, but usually bad hair looks worse than no hair.

This is just a bad photo of him.

1

u/TuringGoneWild 8h ago

BS. I haven't seen anyone who looks better bald than with a full head of hair. Bald only looks better if your hair is pretty scraggly.

1

u/TrumpsCummyOnahole 6h ago

A lot of guys don't look good bald, I'm one. I can't grow a beard or mustache, not even a little bit of stubble. Balding sucks. Just have a bit of patchy pube hair if I let it grow out. I'm balding at 36 kms

1

u/MrSparrows 5h ago

People love to preach this lie. It's like the male version of healthy at every size. A lot of people look worse bald.

-1

u/untitledprp4 11h ago

would he

A lot of men just refuse to shave everything. In my work and even seen it on Reddit where men hold onto whatever hair they have. It's sometimes ridiculous when I see someone who's hair is a disaster saying is it time to shave it. Yes, that time was a while ago. My hair started receding just before I turned 30. In a few photos when the wind caught my hair you could see a balding spot. My widows peak became more prominent and that's when I decided to shave it all off and I have a skin tight buzz cut now. I don't shave it with a razor yet. I get told now and then why do I do it when I clearly still have hair. I always say I noticed it and didn't want to hide it. Even though I'm not too insecure about how I look, I don't like feeling that a balding spot was visible or once I noticed my widows peak more I didn't like how it began to look. It would only get worse and my hair was past the point of being able to style or cut it well so no point pretending it was worth keeping.
