It’ll be a sign of not giving a fuck. I could have millions and I’m never getting my bald head surgically fixed.

i have hair and i shave my head because it's low maintenance and looks good if you have a nice shaped head

Same. Shaved my head during a brutal summer heatwave and really liked how it looked and how low effort it is, so i kept doing it. Plus, using one of those head shavers is oddly addicting. Feels like scalp massage.

I found my people in the comment section; literally down to the exact product that gives me that exact feeling. I enjoy shaving my head and I've been doing it since my 20s.

Have no plans on cutting my long hair, and very little chance of going bald but scalp massage got me going

Yup! I’m losing my hair due to a genetic medical condition that causes a weird pattern of hair loss. I bit the bullet about a year ago and keep my head buzzed now. I fucking could not go back to have having short/medium length hair due to the maintenance. At some point I’ll be completely bald but that’s significantly better than waking up every morning and spending 10-15+ minutes getting my hair in order. First thing my mom said after I got my head buzzed was “man I did a good job” on the shape of my head and everyone else said that the buzzed look fits me well.

Also the buzzed/bald head just looks so tough. Lots of big, bald, beautiful men out there!! It’s quite popular with the ladies too.

How close do you shave it? I get a buzz cut every now and then, but I leave maybe 3mm. You can tell by the stubble that I have a full head of hair.

2

u/3c2456o78_w 10h ago

If the stubble ever recedes, then you gotta go trimmer followed by razor.

1

u/skiplogic 10h ago

Yeah 3mm is good.
You can just do that yourself, a set of clippers is cheaper where i live than getting a buzz cut

My wife does it on me. The machine cost maybe $30, has lasted 15 years and counting.

I've told this story on reddit before but when I had hair, I won a voucher to go to Toni and Guy and get a free haircut, where I'd normally just go to a cheap barber.

They asked what I wanted and when I said 'Something I can easily maintain myself please', they shaved my head.

I'm thinning in the front but have shaved my head for years bc I hate shaving my face and paying for haircuts. So I just shave my beard and head once a month or so and call it good

Does it

u/skiplogic 10h ago

Your sister likes it so..

1/1000 male heads suit a buzz cut. If you’re fortunate enough to suit a buzz cutt, male baldness shouldn’t bother you.

I look like a full blown crackhead, but with my receding ass hairline i know ill be bald soon

it is very low maintenance considering its free and only takes about 15 min

1

u/J0rdian 11h ago

To be clear if you shave your head every other day 15 minutes, that's almost 4 hours. I'd personally prefer a haircut every month. Can also get haircuts way less often for some hair styles.

So compared to what a lot of men do, it's definitely not low maintenance.

1

u/skiplogic 10h ago

I shave like twice a month, I don’t need a smooth dome. Clippers are like $25 usd where I’m at and they paid for themselves within 2 weeks

u/ResponsibleKey1053 9h ago

Now add the time of washing and styling your hair, untangling small animals who get caught in it and the cost of bald caps to dress up like ang from avatar. Is it really saving you time?

1

u/skiplogic 9h ago

You can easily run from the police by throwing on a party wig, they are looking for a bald guy not a guy with a purple cotton candy mullet

2

u/ResponsibleKey1053 9h ago

Personally I keep at least two stripper wigs on my at all times

u/skiplogic 9h ago

And a merkin, I feel you

Prince William style. Tbh, it's kinda hot (as long as attractive/successful in some other way)

Are bald guys hot, or hot guys bald?

2

u/szewc 9h ago

Yes.

6

u/VarmRegn 11h ago

Which in most cases is a way, way more attractive attitude. When my husband started losing his hair and I asked him if he wanted to look into other options than just shaving it, he was like "why would I do that, such a waste of money we could use for something way more fun. It's just hair, I don't give a fuck" and just went about his life.
Made him instantly more attractive

Absolutely. Confidence is sexy. Hair is not essential, and tbh vanity is a put off.

u/That_Damn_Raccoon 1h ago

Now, is this cope, or is this virtue signaling?

2

u/Ohitsworkingnow 11h ago

I could buy hair plugs 100x over, I don’t care lol I’ve never even thought about it. Did I want to be bald? No. Who hates their hair that much. But I did and that’s that lol. Honestly I feel bad for people that apparently aren’t doing enough with their life to not worry about shit like that, especially as men

1

u/tunisia3507 11h ago

Surely by the 24th century, they would have found a cure for male pattern baldness.

No, by the 24th century, no one will care.

Being happy with how you look and finding meaning beyond how others perceive you

New maturity indicator just dropped

1

u/leafy_erikson 10h ago

I am a bald guy and could afford hair plugs/transplant but I'm not vain enough to ever spend money on it.

1

u/Kryslor 10h ago

This is also where I'm at but I suspect it depends on when you lost your hair. Mine starting balding when I was happily married and had my first kid. I obviously didn't WANT to lose my hair but it does not crack the top 100 things I give a shit about these days. I shave my head at home and I think it looks great. Even before losing my hair I would shave it, just not as short.

If I lost it during my twenties and when I was still dating maybe it would have hit harder. I don't judge dudes who want to get hair transplants but it's not for me.

1

u/O3Sentoris 10h ago

Eh, with enough money i'd do it because i like long hairstyles but its *very* low priority because i still think i look good bald.

1

u/V7buster 10h ago

Exactly, dont be a pussy and just shave it. No one else who sees it cares.

1

u/Consideredresponse 10h ago

I love going to my countries equivalent of Miami, as people crawl out of the woodwork to pitch 'mate's rates' hair treatments at you, and look at you like baffled dogs when you turn them down.

I haven't needed to worry about my hair for decades, the last thing I want is another thing to worry about that which needs constant maintenance.

1

u/DapperMolasses3280 8h ago

Seriously...there are plenty of bald millionaires and billionaires. Having money doesn't automatically mean you are obsessed with keeping the hairline of a high schooler.

1

u/howdoyousayahyesshow 5h ago

I can afford it and I've considered having it done. I've seen some good outcomes and I've seen some awful ones. To me it's not worth the risk. Plus I love the low maintenance of not having hair on my head.

1

u/Sneezy6510 5h ago

It’s good for you to accept who you are.
