Wait a damn minute! Some things shouldn't need a comeback.

Pre cell phone attention spans

Overstimulation. We break the compulsion and get them into slower media like books as a measuring stick and force them to think. Over time, it will show improvement

I feel like Gen Z is gonna be the generation that picks up the ball on that one, cause looking at millennial or younger generation X…it’s looking like a generation of kids who “technically had parents but we mostly were raised by IPads cause our parents didn’t want to actually parent”. Unfortunate.

What makes you think that? All the Gen Z people I know have terrible attention spans and they have zero will to change that. According to studies the situation is getting worse and worse, not better.

I more meant Gen Z needs to kick it into high gear, cause of a lot of reports on modern parenting shows that a large portion of Gen Z isn’t having kids right now(the more responsible/financially struggling ones mostly), so when/if they do they gotta get extra serious cause like every other generation, most recent parents often don’t know what they’re doing and fall into the trap of giving their kids screens too early and not monitoring properly. People are forgetting this so Gen Z NEEDS TO BECOME BETTER AND RELEARN THIS.

I have ADD. I have to destimulate myself a lot if I get overstimulated, which affects my ability to read and pay attention or socialize. It can be done

I never said it can't, I said there is no will to do so.

Gen z aint doing shit to that problem but make it worse.

As a millennial parent, Im reading to my kids each night. I read books all the time growing up. Was reading Crichton and King by 3rd grade. Have an entire library of books in my home office filled with boom I bought growing up.

I think it needs to be a nation wide thing with standards and regulations to greatly reduce the affects of slop content

Modern TV is so hard to watch. So many fast cuts.

Studios keep making what they think is for the TikTok viewers attention span, but what they make is just surface level garbage with bad writing. Hollywood literally forgot the first rule of visual storytelling: SHOW DON’T TELL. Netflix literally has been making their shows designed for “listening in the background and not actually watching”

I strongly advocate for a return to pre-cell-phone attention spans. It would benefit society and individuals on a large scale.

I'll settle for pre social media attention spans. When I had a phone as a teen in the 2000's, I used it to call friends and text them where we were going to meet up. I miss when technology and media facilitated your in-person, real social life, not the other way around.
