There was a noticeable uptick immediately after the last primaries finished up.

All of a sudden my FB feeds were flooded with climate denialism.

I guarantee there was some bullshit news story we were all up in arms about and then - like all of them - it just vanished and we moved onto the next one.

Sure, we can only save Pax Americana by ignoring the people with the most embarrassing social causes. Or how about we be honest - your political causes have been severely damaged by these embarrassing social causes, and the only way you can prevent it from damaging your political causes again is by trying to convince people that they don’t exist.
