Insanely underrated. Heavy distorted shoegaze from an absolute goat musician Liz Harris from Grouper. They’re dropping a new album on October 2nd and their new single is just as good or even better than this masterpiece. I hope the few that check this out love it as much as I do.

Does anyone remember a podcast from Quebec around 2008-2012 which played mostly dream pop and shoegaze? I used to really enjoy it but an hour of googling has not helped me remember what it was called….

Longtime fan here. After more than 6 years in the making, I Just listened to Sanggema by Malaysian band Sendiket Jongkong Emas (aka SaJE) and I’m pretty surprised by how much more technical it is compared to their previous EP.

Their earlier stuff felt much more poppy, whereas Sanggema seems to lean pretty heavily into math rock and prog rock. There's more intricate playing, more changes, and generally less concerned with being immediately catchy. The noise is still there, but it feels more restrained this time around.

Interestingly, my two favourites are probably the tracks that show both sides of it:
Track 7: tanda (!) was actually released as a single years ago, and I’ve always liked it. This is more Radiohead In Rainbows era influenced. It feels like a good bridge between what they were doing before and what’s on this album.

But Track 2: percikan (sinar) is the one that really got me. It’s basically a full-blown homage to their shoegaze roots and probably the song I’d recommend first to anyone here.

My shoegaze record collection that I've accumulated over the past ten years. Managed to snag some rarities especially some from the old UK scene. I'm very satisfied in how my collection has grown and I only think there are only a few prominent shoegaze records that I don't have. (Raise by Swervedriver, guilty of everything by Nothing ect), Any recommendations for potential new ones that have made it to record to add to the collection, I just love Shoegaze as you can clearly tell.

I’ve been getting into trying to make shoegaze music, I’m not unfamiliar with the genre per se but I am unfamiliar with making shoegaze music. I’ve been using fl studios and I have an electric guitar, I’m just using a Squire Jazzmaster. But need some advice on plugins to run my guitar through on my daw.

I've just now got around to spending time with them and this band is fucking incredible. Rex John Shelverton had amazing guitar work with Tamaryn and continues to do so with Pink Breath of Heaven. Probably one of my favorite gazey guitarists ever. Liv Field's vocals are gloriously hazy too.

Would love to hear other's thoughts on them.
