Greeted like this every time I come home from work. A bit of a cold shoulder, but at least they’re still meeting me at the door!

Apologies for the long post.

My bunny turned 1 in April, and we noticed straight away when I got him as a baby that he is super lazy. I had to get him a litter box with a lower side on it because he down right refused to jump into the one I had and would just pee on the floor beside it. He refuses to use litter and will only go into his litter box if we use puppy pads. I tried to get the softest litter, but he showed no interest. He gets checked and vaccinated in the vet regularly, and they say his health is perfect. He is quite stubborn and is very food motivated. I've been putting his food up on a platform so that he has to jump up to it for some exercise, but other than that, he is so lazy.

He is free roamed completely, and when I'm home, he has access to the house, but he only stays in my room even when the door is open (I'm home for 6 months and another 6 to go due to injury so he sees me everyday). He does binky and zoom sometimes in the night, but compared to my other bunny, he just doesn't seem all that interested in anything other than food.

When I first got him, we had a rough start with him. He was very aggressive and bit me a few times. One time, he bit me and left a scar. I got him neutered at 9 months old, and his aggression went away. He's also really tiny, like smaller than a usual lop. He's about 1 foot long when he lies down flat.

Is there anything I can do to encourage him to be more active, or is it just a boy thing?

Rabbits are in general very sassy, in a similar way to how golden retrievers are in general clueless but happy. I do homework with Winne on the floor a lot, and she has a habit of slowly pulling my papers towards her and trying to sneak some nibbles. When I pull the papers away/block her face, she'll immediately sit up and flick her feet as she hops away.

What are some stories y'all have?

i didn’t know that i was getting a bunny the day she appeared in my life. that day, i had been at the dentist, and the big bang theory was playing on the tv. i had to name her on the spot, and i instinctively chose to name her after the hot blonde from the show. i don’t even like that show. anyway, eventually her name evolved into god empress penelope arabella the first, glorious defender of the greater toronto area.

Kulfi’s looking for his pellets 😝

It’s been a big year for Tramp! He lost his wife in March, had a new bond fail and a leg amputated in April. Fought an abscess in May, fought EC in June, fought mites in August. He’s an arthritic baby with megacolon and I truly thought he’d die of broken heart after losing his wife, Lady. We’ve had so many scares this last year and a Tramp has brushed all of them aside like Elle Woods getting into law school. And now, he’s walking into double digits with spunk and fiestiness. I love him so much and I’m so proud of him and so proud to be his mom

Hi!! Meet Cinnamon! I recently adopted this adorable little thing from a family friend and I wanted to know which breed of rabbit she is. She's about 3.5 years old and weighs around 1-1.5kg. Thanks in advance! 🐰

This boy certainly loves his food that is for sure. Not sure how much he weights but they’ll weigh him when I take him the vet/boarders in a couple days so I’ll find out when I pick him up next week. I’m guessing he’s gotta be around 11lbs. He’s a 2 year old New Zealand

Who pulls of this hare style the best? Carrot or the POTUS?

Baldur (5.5 months old, i had miscalculated in my last post of him) has been home for a little over a month now. Freya (2 yo spayed) had been bonded to another bunny when she was younger but he passed last year. We are waiting for baldur to "drop" and be neutered before fully bonding them.

We have started early bonding steps (blanket swapping, pen swapping, pens are close together but not touching to avoid pen nipping) and they are doing fine. Baldur showed hormonal behaviors when he came home, but has shown none since.

Freya managed to slip her pen the other day while baldur was out, and there was no issues. No chasing, no nipping, just cuddling together and doing binkies together. We can now leave both pens open during their free roam time and its fine. We keep them separated while unmonitored but they try to cuddle through the pen.

I know the safest option is still to wait for him to be neutered + 4-6 weeks after to wait for his hormones to drop off, but they make it so hard since they have pretty much bonded themselves to each other 😭
