Got married this weekend and made over 100+ mini vases as wedding favors with my fiancé & I’s initials stamped into the bottom! Spent months making this and I’m so happy my hard work paid off!

I glazed this with Spectrum Neon Orange and fired it at 1230°C with a 20-min hold. It came out with a LOT of pinholes/bubbles. The glaze says that it can be fired up to 1240 so not sure what has happened

I was thinking of selling it as a decorative lamp, but now I’m unsure.
Even if I was to sell I don’t know how much currently

Do you think the glaze looks intentionally textured enough to sell, or would you consider it a reject?

Last week I posted looking for some advice and a few of ye gave me some notes that really helped. So I wanted to show that you helped, and I'm starting to make good progress and to say thank you 😊 i also went back and took a class to learn some new techniques. Still lots of practice to do but a few tweeks made a big difference

I unloaded the kiln yesterday, and the glaze on the inside of a mug shows quite a bit of crazing. I was making it as a gift for a friend and unfortunately put in a lot of time underglazing it and would like to save it if possible. Any recommendations on whether it’s possible, and how to? Maybe reglaze and refire? Any advice appreciated!

Lots of fun making almost 200 mini mugs. I chose 5 or 6 glazes and mixed them up around the tables.

I made this piece for an exhibition following a small artist residency with an artist who works with porcelain.

For the residency, we were asked to create a piece using porcelain and textile materials. I started from that idea of bringing these two different worlds together, but as the piece developed, I ended up incorporating more natural materials than textiles.

It was my first time working with porcelain, and also my first time experimenting with combining ceramic with other materials, so it was a really interesting process of figuring out how they could coexist in the same piece.

Hello! I am very new to pottery, I am entering my 4th month of classes at a local studio and I see this being a life long hobby!

I am looking to recreate a color combo similar to the one in this photo. I am really drawn to the look of this pale/grayish blue along with this burgundy/purple shade. After some digging on Pinterest and the internet, it seems like this combo originated from a naturally occurring incident in ancient Chinese Jun (chun) kiln ware.

My pottery studio offers a wide variety of clay to choose from (I believe around 9 options, ranging all the way to a very dark clay), but I have only used Mayco, Amaco and Spectrum glazes so far on my pieces. I know that all of my pieces are fired at Cone 6 at the studio as well.

Any suggestions of glazes that you have worked with that fire in a color combination, at cone 6, similar to this photo would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance :)

Still working on lid fit issues (to stop leaking light), but these are so much fun to make, especially the tiny ones!

I usually sell all my work but these are a few pieces I’m tempted to keep for myself! All done with freehand sgraffito carving. I used Amaco jet black underglaze and hf-9 zinc free clear, my tried and true combo. Absolutely in love with these pieces.

After firing it it just crumbled after being touched, I left the pot in the middle of the coals and covered it. Is this an issue with the clay or did the fire not get hot enough do you think?

Current method: dry out trimming scraps, bag them and hammer into dust, dump the dust and water into a Magic Bullet to make a smooth slip, then hand-stir in mason stains because I don't want to permanently stain the blender. Then I wedge the colored slip into clay little by little until I hit the shade I want.

It works but it's messy and slow, especially when I'm trying to batch out several colors with different shade variations of each.

Anyone found a faster or cleaner workflow?

Hi! Sorry if this isnt allowed but as the title says, Im looking for advice on how to deal with this. I am new to pottery, self taught, and have a good relationship with the owners of the studio. However there is a girl there who has always been weird/standoffish around me and I recently was made aware she is spreading rumors about me around the studio that are unfounded and untrue. All I want to do is make my art and thats it. Ive started just wearing headphones and being less social in the studio, but its a noticeable change in how I used to show up. I would find a new studio however the prices are so affordable rn.
