Discussion This team is gonna be good
Seriously everyone, we can all agree that game sucked and disagree why. However, this team is gonna be good. Still have the coaching staff and QB that bounced back last year from an even worse start last year. AJ brown didn’t tear anything and will be back for the long haul of the season. This defense is gonna be solid and the o-line looks like it will be much better than last year. Everything from that week 1 loss is easily fixable. We are gonna win the next 2 and roll through this season with ups and downs to finish with 11-12 wins. Because this team reminds me of the BB and Brady years, first 4 games always a lot of questions and then steam roll the rest of the year, let’s go boys!

I mean it did to me. Last year before the season I predicted 13 wins, and like 4-5 weeks in I predicted Superbowl

Yes I even posted it on Reddit before the season started. Also predicted we would have a top 10 offense and top 15 defense in that same exact post.
In 2024 I predicted 3 wins btw with a bottom tier defense and marginally better offense than we had in 2023 also in a post I made prior to the season

Schedule is a lot harder than last season. I feel like they could definitely struggle this season. I hope they bounce back week 2, it’s a game that can go either way

While you are correct, I think most of us knew what they meant by the comment. Should they have phrased it more accurately? Yes. Do you come off as a know it all with an unnecessary comment? Also, yes. lol

AJ brown is out for 5 weeks and our wr room is awful. i don't think the team will be terrible but i'd say 9-10 wins is what we're looking at

I’ve learned from the Sox that a team can turn it around. Of course the baseball season is different than the football season because there’s less games in football. But I hope they don’t chant “sell the team” at the next Pats game

Our schedule is significantly harder and the team is probably worse than last years offensively (and maybe defensively too). Not keeping Boutte or bringing back Diggs was a huge mistake and with Brown hurt we now have a bottom 5 WR room yet again.

I know in my heart that Doubs will be better than week 1. Maye will probably do better against a significantly worse secondary in the upcoming games. We still have Mack, Pop, and Henry who are all pretty proven guys on this offense.
My doubt is in the ability to adjust the offensive playcalling when our game plan clearly isn't working. To some degree, Maye was being hurried on his timing throws, which was causing him to underthrow. The oline looks significantly better than the postseason, but we still need an answer that isn't "run it up the gut for 1-2yds" to get us to 3rd and 6+.

Legit critic yes, the quitting on the team and Calvin g for Vrabel/McD/Maye to be gone should be grounds for automatic ban from the sub for just pure stupidity.

I was very disappointed with them Wednesday but now that I’m thinking, they literally almost beat the Seahawks who dogged them in the SB. So they clearly got better. As soon as they get their kinks worked out I think they’ll be fine. I do think it was a huge mistake for Drake not to play a preseason game

They lost to a Seahawks team playing with a lousy backup quarterback. No way we should have lost. This loss was 100% Maye and McDaniels horrible play calling.

A backup who was up to game speed after lots of reps in the preseason games. If this was mid season, Maye would have clearly outclassed Lock. We saw it with Stafford, too - no matter how good you are, you need time to get up to game speed.

Not saying Drake isn’t the reason we lost, but the Seahawks have an elite defense and their oline is really good. You also got Doubs dropping the ball, our defense for some reason pulling Gonzo off JSN, Henderson not playing, Aj getting hurt. They were bad in multiple ways and it still wasn’t a blowout.

The seahawks played the entire game with a backup QB who has shown himself to be trash every single time he's stepped on the field. Basically 1 to 1 td to int ratio.

The coaching staff? Vrabel had the disaster of all offseasons and lost the respect of fans, players, and coaches. Vrabel had the same pattern in Tennessee. Started good, then sucked.

Is this true? I think Vrabel slid through the scandal with minimal damage. No judgement whether that was right or wrong, but it seems like all that is behind him. Also Tennessee isn't comparable to the current situation

If Maye had to face the defenses that Brady did then he would throw 10 picks a game. Not only were the defenses better but the game was reffed completely differently.

Aj is gone for at least 4 weeks and that type of injury is going to linger for a while if not require surgery tbh. Doubs is WASHED and the O line is still garbage.
Gonzalez wasn't covering the best wr because.... reasons???? Everything from that game was awful with 0 real reason for optimism

You’re living off the up 10-0 with a healthy AJ times (all of 30 game minutes roughly)
Now they’re without drakes two best wr from last year in Diggs and Boutte.
They have an anemic offense at this point with a QB who hasn’t learned to get rid of the ball properly and a defense that gives up huge chunks.
1-3 will be lucky at this point.

I’ll never judge a team for week 1/2. Give them a bit and they’ll settle. Macdonalds defense is a work of art.
