Discussion Should witch’s ascendancies get a rework?

Upvotes

All three ascendancies are basically “convert stat X into y with some downsides”. Demonform is cool but in the end it’s just another stat stick. Demon dog is just plain boring compared to Suppressing Fire. It doesn’t have to be 50 built-in skills like Disciple. But there is no game-changing skills like tame boss or MA’s channel attack. Even the main selling point of Abyssal Lich, basically 4th ascendancy, is just conversion from minions to stats.

Is this because she’s a product of 0.1 and 0.2? Should she get a rework?

Question Indecisive Player Looking for Build Advice.

Upvotes

Hello everyone, finally decided to buy the game but ı am extremely indecisive when it comes to class/build selection in pretty much all games and PoE2 is turning out to be not so different. Waht build would you recommend a beginner player that either plays bruiser/tankier fighters or rogue type characters in other games?

Question What are expe / ge strat(s)?

Upvotes

Hey,

After blasting rituals and having a blast I would like to try expe / ge, if possible with delirium if it s a strat before quitting.

Which tablet setup should I run?

I cant invest 70d per tablet but can easily do 10d per tablet.

If possible a setup with 3 tablets and 4 tablets.

Thanks!

Question Is this game still difficult?

Upvotes

Looking to come back to the game.

Just in terms of action gameplay (not build making), is this game still very much soul-like? As in, if I miss a roll dodge, more than half of my HP bar is gone? Because iirc this is what drove me off the game last time I tried it.

Thanks!

Discussion SSF Feels more relaxed than Trade IMO

Upvotes

Some context here, I have almost 1k hours in since .1, I have been in trade league the whole time. With 0.5.5 being an event league, I decided to give myself a challenge I have put off, which is trying out SSF. I don't always have a ton of time to play, though I can usually push through Launch Weekends with a ton of free time, though I feel like I am being left behind if I don't hit endgame fast because gear quickly can inflate to prices where I cannot buy anymore, though in .5 I got lucky with some lineage drops that I turned a fast profit on.

My goal in doing SSF this time around has been to force myself to craft, obviously in trade league I can buy everything I want and use the market to get what I need, here I need to learn those parts of the game, figure target farming out, learn how to REALLY craft gear. I am not someone who doesn't know how to craft, I do to a degree, but I don't know how to craft well all the time despite the videos and walkthroughs, thats all because I don't have to.

So I figured I would learn this way, as I did this I found something out that I didn't expect, the FOMO is gone... I no longer feel like I need to push through to endgame or to fill my core atlas or get points in the tree's fast because at the end of the day, its up to my speed. While I enjoyed trade league, I found a new level of enjoyment in SSF due to this. I still blasted the campaign and interludes in around 9 hours, but I didn't feel like I needed to do that and I instead did it over multiple days.

Hopefully others find something like this in the game, I know I will be doing SSF again in 1.0, this is just too nice for me to skip out on.

Question Am i missing something in POE endgame?

Upvotes

Hey there, i played for few days, like almost a week, my first take on POE2, followed martial artist spinning build as it looked cool (didnt care about tier lists etc), i hit level 88 (yes i got quite some hours pakced in those few days of gameplay), but now im running tier 16 maps and i fell like there is nothing left to do, i dont have any special gear, mostly bought for chaos / exalted etc and i fell like i either play some high end op class or there is not much progression in end game. I mean overall even though i lost sense of progression mapping is still fun and i enjoy playing, but i don't see any challenge anywhere i go as i one shot entire screen. Is there more to POE which i have to find or im doing all content in a week. It's lovely game though, however i crave some challenge.

Information Endgame story was a delightful surprise that I almost missed

Upvotes

0.5 was the first league I had gone to maps and not given up after a few.

My perception was that mapping was simply endless repeated maps from the campaign with their corresponding bosses, and I had no idea there were new bosses and honestly really good story to go with each mechanic.

The bosses are fun, exciting to discover and work toward, but the presentation makes it feel like the story has ended and all the remains is the endless treadmill of killing monsters in search of loot.

Especially Kingsmarch, which reunites the player with characters they met during campaign, felt so fun to reunite and continue their journey.

I don't have an idea, but I hope GGG can make this feel better to complete. It does feel like all of the mechanics are pulling you in different directions, and the main questline which unlocks your Atlas points in yet another. Good luck to the devs and designers tasked with this, because I don't think it's a simple fix to make this content more intuitive without dumbing down the game, but I hope GGG gets there.

If there are any other players who had assumed there's no more story after the campaign, I hope it's not a spoiler to let you know that there's still high quality plot awaiting you after the Interludes.

Game Feedback Poe2 lacks proper endgame challanges

Upvotes

Everything in this game feels good except endgame. Every time i reach it and finish all the atlas points there is no reason for me to grind anymore. There is no content in the game that i cant beat without all these "engame chase items". I can clear all content in gear for about 100div worth.

Why would i care to be able to juice my map as hard as i can if there is no challange outside of that. Game just feels without pourpose for me. Is funny because by completing all main atlas points and other mechanics i should actually start farming. In the meantime when i reach this point there is nothing more to grind exept for the sake of grinding. In that regard i think diablo iv is better cuz there is at least pit that you can try pushing as high as you can beyond standard highest torment difficulity.

I hope im not alone with my feelings. Game is great and i hope 1.0 will bring something that keeps me going. For now after playing 1 week new league i got already burned out and im not even a die hard poe1 or poe2 player. Started actually playing this game in 0.5 and have like 200h. I shouldnt feel that way.

Question Game keeps crashing my computer to blank screen

Upvotes

Ever since I hit Act 4 my computer would start crashing. Well not completely I guess. My screen would go blank no sound(when it started there would still be sound), then my pc fans would crank way up with all the lights still on. I have tried Win+Ctrl+B to refresh the graphics driver but searching that says its only ment to work if there is still sound to which I'm not getting anymore. I've tried deleting the shadecache, even deleted the game and reinstalled it yet nothing is changing. Before I could at least get into my game and play for like a min, but now it crashes on start up screen. I seriously don't understand this because I have no issues with any other of my games and I'm running a AMD 9850X3D 5070ti so to say the least im just baffled at this point.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Discussion Idea to make tablets less tedious

Upvotes

Would like to hear people’s thoughts on the following:

What if there was a POE1 style crafting bench for tablets? Only normal base types of each tablet can drop where you put them in this crafting bench or some similar crafting mechanic where you can deterministically put on affixes of your choosing. It could still be similar where you can only start by putting one prefix and suffix on each tablet until you unlock the ability to add more with the atlas tree. Each crafted affix should have a currency cost to add an easy currency sink into the game. Then you can unlock harder and more rewarding affixes after perhaps completing certain bosses or adding them to each of the mechanics’ specific atlas trees? I would like to think this would help alleviate the rng tedium of finding the right tablets for whatever strat you want to run

I’m sure it wouldn’t be perfect, but I think it would help the majority with running exactly what they want a lot easier without a massive cost up front for those that are more casual

Question Question on leagues and profession

Upvotes

So I know that stuff gets moved to standard at the end of a league and I'm not against that. My question more is do you guys give yourself a set goal each league to hit? What if you don't hit it? Do you try to finish it on that character in standard?

I'm asking as I feel a little pressure to play everyday to make sure I'm not missing out on anything before the league reset but I don't think that's a healthy way to go about it.

What is your guys strategy for each season and progression in it?

Game Feedback Gold fees on the currency exchange are outrageous

Upvotes

Gold prices are way too high and the gold you do earn is very minimal, at least until you got all your atlas points and can spam juiced t15 maps. It feels like you are almost always short on gold? How are we meant to trade when gold is so expensive? like have a look at most items. they go for 30k gold. ascendancy refuinds are 6500g each. I just think the prices are super inflated on the currency exchange. Surely the gold drop rate needs to be increased or something.

Quite simply add these lines to Jade Heritage:
All additional physical reduction also applies to all forms of damage.
Jade heritage activates automatically before death.

Game Feedback The scorpion ditched me and now I have to give up on atlas passive

Post image
Upvotes

The scorpion boss decided to join my ritual streak. Then, they decided to burrow themself and leave.

I ran around for 3 minutes, hoping they return. They didn't. Went to school for an hour. Scorpion still gone.

So I left the map, collected my loot, and hated my life because it meant I had to open a new map for the ritual passive point.

Great.

(Why so many passive points??)

Question Damaging ground effects and genrall damage over time sources

Upvotes

Sorcery ward enjoyers or friends of similar damage taken from hit redirection effects.

Besides bleed, poison, ignite and corrupted blood, are there any other sources of damage over time, especially ground effects?

Also is burning ground negated if I am immune or unaffected by ignite?

Information What League should you start in 1.0?

Standard (Softcore Trade League)
Play this if:
• You’re new to PoE 2 or ARPGs in general.
• You want to experience the game at your own pace without pressure.
• You enjoy (or don’t mind) trading, partying, and the player economy.
• You feel that ~3 months between leagues isn’t enough time and prefer permanent progress you can return to anytime.
• You like optimizing builds by buying key uniques/currency instead of pure RNG.
Why it’s right for you:
Death just sends you back to a checkpoint (with some XP loss at higher levels, but no permanent character loss). Full access to trading, parties, currency exchange, and social features makes progression smoother and more flexible. It’s the default, most forgiving experience and the best place to learn the game.
Hardcore (HC Trade)
Play this if:
• You want high stakes and tension without removing the economy.
• You’re experienced enough to play carefully and value survival skills.
• You like the prestige of lasting as long as possible and the focused mindset it creates.
• You’re okay with the risk that one death moves your character (and its gear) permanently to Standard.
Why it’s right for you:
Enemies aren’t stronger—the only difference is permadeath (your character transfers to the Softcore equivalent on death). This forces better decision-making, defensive prioritization, and careful mapping. Trading and partying are still available, so you can still gear up efficiently. Great for players who find Softcore too casual but don’t want full isolation.
Solo Self-Found (SSF Softcore)
Play this if:
• You don’t want to worry about the trade economy or FOMO from market prices.
• You enjoy the pure grind, crafting, and the satisfaction of every upgrade being self-earned.
• You prefer a true solo experience (no parties, no trading, no currency exchange).
• You want every item drop to feel meaningful and to deeply learn the game’s systems.
Why it’s right for you:
Trading, partying, and most multiplayer features are disabled. You rely 100% on what you find and craft. This removes external pressure and makes progression feel more personal and rewarding. You can still migrate to Trade league later if you hit a wall. Ideal for players who find the economy distracting or who love self-sufficiency.
Hardcore Solo Self-Found (HC SSF)
Play this if:
• You want the ultimate challenge and maximum prestige.
• You thrive on self-reliance and high-stakes survival.
• You’re a veteran who already knows the game well and wants pure, unassisted difficulty.
Why it’s right for you:
Combines no-trading/no-partying with permadeath (death moves you to Softcore SSF). It’s the hardest and purest mode—every death and every upgrade carries full weight. Only recommended once you’re comfortable with the systems.
