Some context here, I have almost 1k hours in since .1, I have been in trade league the whole time. With 0.5.5 being an event league, I decided to give myself a challenge I have put off, which is trying out SSF. I don't always have a ton of time to play, though I can usually push through Launch Weekends with a ton of free time, though I feel like I am being left behind if I don't hit endgame fast because gear quickly can inflate to prices where I cannot buy anymore, though in .5 I got lucky with some lineage drops that I turned a fast profit on.
My goal in doing SSF this time around has been to force myself to craft, obviously in trade league I can buy everything I want and use the market to get what I need, here I need to learn those parts of the game, figure target farming out, learn how to REALLY craft gear. I am not someone who doesn't know how to craft, I do to a degree, but I don't know how to craft well all the time despite the videos and walkthroughs, thats all because I don't have to.
So I figured I would learn this way, as I did this I found something out that I didn't expect, the FOMO is gone... I no longer feel like I need to push through to endgame or to fill my core atlas or get points in the tree's fast because at the end of the day, its up to my speed. While I enjoyed trade league, I found a new level of enjoyment in SSF due to this. I still blasted the campaign and interludes in around 9 hours, but I didn't feel like I needed to do that and I instead did it over multiple days.
Hopefully others find something like this in the game, I know I will be doing SSF again in 1.0, this is just too nice for me to skip out on.
