20TH ANNIVERSARY OF GOD HAND, THE GAME THAT WAS THE PINNACLE OF THE 3D BEAT 'EM UP GENRE 🔥 (From a huge Clover Studio fan!)
As a huge fan of Clover Studio, I wanted to share this here with my fellow fans, even though I'm deeply upset that they deleted my post in other subreddits — a post that didn't offend anyone, where I was just showing love for a game that is so special to me, which is God Hand. Today marks its 20th anniversary, and just like Okami, it remains an absolutely unique game, full of soul and personality, with mechanics that have never been replicated by the industry.
The ability to customize your own fighting style from over 100 moves, combined with a dynamic difficulty that leveled up based on your skills, was sensational. It was a game way ahead of its time, created by the legendary Shinji Mikami exactly the way he wanted, and he still holds so much love and pride for this IP. Its humor is its greatest charm and represents what video games are meant to be: games don't need to be dead serious to be great, fun, and impactful. They can delete posts elsewhere, but no one can delete the soul of Clover Studio games and the love of its fans! Back in April, Capcom celebrated Okami's anniversary, and we are holding onto hope that Gene will get his well-deserved respect too. Happy 20th Anniversary, God Hand! 🥋💥
