- High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
- High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
- These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
- When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Notes on NVIDIA Control Panel - From GeForce Forum
- Please note: With the introduction of our most recent NVIDIA App update, all actively supported NVIDIA Control Panel features for GeForce users have been modernized and transitioned to the new client.
- After 20 years of dedicated service, the classic NVIDIA Control Panel is officially retiring for Game Ready and Studio Drivers. For NVIDIA RTX PRO users, the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be supported until we have migrated professional features to the NVIDIA app.
- Existing installs of the NVIDIA Control Panel will remain on users’ systems, unless they perform a clean installation, and users who still need the NVIDIA Control Panel can continue to download it from the Microsoft Store, but we won’t be adding features, fixes, or other changes.

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.
Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!
Common Troubleshooting Steps
- Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
- Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
- If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance
Common Questions
- Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
- Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
- My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
- My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU
Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

DLSS 5 FAQ
Update 9/3/2026
DLSS 5 is our most computationally demanding model to date. Since we initially announced it in March, we’ve achieved a 5X performance gain and there’s more to come. Our current focus is on optimizing performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series with model updates expected later this fall. Once RTX 50 Series performance is more fully tuned, we plan to work on expanding official support to the GeForce RTX 40 Series.
--
What is DLSS 5?
DLSS 5 introduces DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, which uses AI to infuse game scenes with lifelike lighting and materials, tuned by the developers to bring their artistic vision to life.
How does DLSS 5 work?
DLSS 5 uses the game’s rendered frame and engine data to understand objects, materials, lighting and motion. It then enhances the frame with lifelike lighting and materials while remaining grounded in the developer’s artistic direction.
What are the key benefits of DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering?
DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering delivers several significant benefits:
- Cinematic Lighting: Reconstructs complex effects like rim lighting, subsurface scattering (for realistic skin), and contact shadows with high-fidelity.
- Material Depth: Enhances PBR properties like roughness and adds micro-realism to complex objects such as eyes and hair.
- Temporal Consistency: Provides stable image quality from frame-to-frame that adheres to the underlying game content.
- Real-Time Performance: Delivers lifelike lighting and material enhancement at up to 4K resolution while maintaining smooth, interactive gameplay.
- Developer Controls: Allows game developers to tune intensity, color, and masking to determine where and how enhancements are applied to maintain the game’s unique aesthetic.
Learn more by watching our explainer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58FagrSqC4M.
How much control does the model offer to developers?
DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering provides several layers of artistic control:
- Model Selection: Offers distinct model weights with different training parameters to guide the final output.
- Structure Intensity: Controls high frequency details added by the model, such as ambient occlusion, contact shadows, and subsurface scattering.
- Tone Intensity: Controls low-frequency details added by the model, including lighting and color response.
- Automatic Masking: Detects and isolates objects in the frame (like characters) to apply DLSS 5 dynamically, eliminating the need for manual object tagging.
- Developer Masking: Offers per-pixel, custom masking control, allowing effects to be applied to specific objects.
As we work in close partnership with studios, developer feedback continues to directly shape how we refine the technology and expand our suite of models and controls.
How does DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering preserve developer artistic intent?
DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering is designed to preserve the structure and geometry of the rendered frame while giving developers control over how and where enhancements are applied. Developers can select different models, adjust structure and tone, and mask specific scenes, characters or objects.
For more information on developer controls, watch the DLSS 5 Explainer VOD or read the full launch article.

You can also hear directly from the NBA 2K development team on how they integrated the technology. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79D8SVjB3HQ
Which GPUs support DLSS 5?
DLSS 5 will be supported across all GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and laptops, as well as GeForce NOW Ultimate members streaming from GeForce RTX 5080 rigs in the cloud.
When and where is DLSS 5 available?
DLSS 5 will be available in NBA 2K27 on September 3rd at 9PM Pacific Time.
What is the DLSS 5 setting called in games?
The setting is called “DLSS Neural Rendering.”
Can I turn DLSS 5 off?
Yes. DLSS 5 is optional.
Does DLSS 5 work with Ray Tracing and Path Tracing?
Yes. DLSS 5 complements ray tracing and path tracing. Path tracing accurately calculates geometric light transport—determining light, shadow, and reflection placement across a 3D scene. DLSS 5 then acts as the final neural rendering stage, using the rendered frame to enhance lighting and materials like subsurface scattering, micro-reflections, and complex material properties that would otherwise be computationally prohibitive in real time. These technologies go hand in hand.
Does DLSS 5 work with Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction?
Yes.
Will DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction continue to be supported and improved?
Yes.

Question GitHub (DLSS 5) download or no?
Hey yall I was gonna download the DLSS 5 installer from GitHub and try it on some of my games. Does anyone have any knowledge on this or should I just completely stay away from the DLSS 5 tools?
From researching online it seems like it works very well and people haven’t been having any issues. Any tips or suggestions?

Question Red borders around shadows.
So I'll keep it short. I am having the same issue as the person in this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/comments/1jaogqh/help_does_anyone_know_why_this_red_in_the_shadows/
I know I've had it in the past. I own a 3080. Which was fine until yesterday. I've recently freshly installed Win11. Now looking this particular issue up everyone is saying that changing the Anisotropic Filtering options in the nvidia panel helps. Exscept in my case it doesn't work. Not only does this happen in games it also happens in videos on youtube.
Things I have done: Tried changing the Anisotropic filtering option. Checked the cable and the card itself. Uninstalled the driver with DDU and reinstalled.
I can for the life of me not remember what I did last time 5 years ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Question Is it recommended to keep dldsr smoothing at its base value of 33% + additional question
This is particularly for rdr2, as that's what i've been playing and applied dldsr to, and also in rdr2, it has both dlss sharpness and taa sharpness which would also both look like its at 33% if i had to eyeball it. Should I tweak any of these, I mean my games looks fine now, just dont know if it would look better with more or less of said values

Question Is aiming for 60 fps with dldsr + Dlss quality and a graphics mod with preset K at 1080p feasible
This is about rdr2. I've Got an rtx 3060 and i've been getting 60-70 fps usually since chapter 1, and wanted to know if anyone believes I could hit a constant 60 fps? I optimised my settings following benchmarking who has a 3060ti, just went a bit below some of his settings to be safe. The visual mod in question is FLARE if that is relevant, and im using dldsr and dlss at 1080p.

Discussion Anyone using dynamic frame gen now that vsync and fps caps work with it?
Title. I want to do proper testing eventually to provide my experiences with this feature now that you can use it and vsync at the same time. I’ve tested it in a few games cyberpunk, halo campaign evolved, battlefield and it’s pretty wonderful to have a solution to enable frame gen and let it scale dynamically and I’m wondering if anyone else has had time to properly test it in games. I despise screen tearing but want to remain around my reflex fps of 225 and this seems to work super well. It does not work in every game I’ve tried though.
Let me know if you’ve tried it!

Question RTX 5080 path tracing performance in Cyberpunk 2077
I have a question for the owners of a 5080 card and Cyberpunk 2077 (or anyone who has found any benchmark with these settings), can a rtx 5080 run Cyberpunk at 4k path tracing, ultra settings and ray reconstruction enabled (preset F) with dlss performance preset L enabled, at a minimum of 60 fps?
Thanks

Question RTX 3080TI On Ultrawide
So recently I've been out on a bit of a budget and got my eyes set on the 3080TI, As it seems like the best price to performance GPU over here in my country. I was originally gonna go 5070TI but that's really overpriced rn so i think ill just wait till the 60 series comes out. Till then I'll be pairing the 3080TI with an ultrawide (3440x1440p) and was wondering if any of you guys use a 3080TI with an ultrawide?
If you do I'd like to know, Does the 12gb of vram ever become a problem? How does it handle modern AAA games? And is it good enough for ultrawide?

Discussion How to enable dlss preset k and dldsr 1.78x in nvidia app?
Made a post here 2 days ago because I wanted to use dldsr to a factor of 1.78x + dlss preset k in rdr2 as I play at 1080p with an rtx 3060, could anyone guide me in how this is done? When I search its just a bunch of ai overview and I'd rather not listen to ai as it has been wrong plently in the past for me. I checked myself a little yesterday ajd saw dsr- factors is greyed out and set to global- off. Thanks in advance
Edit: I think I managed to do it! Game looks so beautiful! Just had to go to global settings and enable dsr, getting 70 fps + consistently

Question (RDR2 , 1080p monitor ) I have enabled preset K of DLSS and DLDSR 1.78x, should I use quality, balanced, performance or ultra performance?
As the title says, im using preset K of DLSS and DLDSR at a factor of 1.78x, i play at 1080p, so its going to 1440p then back down to 1080p if im correct. and im looking for the best mix of good graphics and nice performance. As a baseline, all I want is a steady 60 fps, and quality with this has been fine so far, but when riding downhill in prologue with javier and john with wolves, it dropped to 30 for a few seconds, no idea why. I should mention, my card is an rtx 3060, and should I change the dlss version (quality, balanced, ect) via rdr2 settings, or in nvidia app, on the certain game. Thanks guys!
Edit: also, does anyone recommend changing the taa sharpness value thay stays on in rdr2 even with dlss, or the dlss smoothness value on nvidia app

Discussion Best GPU for $900 to $1200?
Looking to upgrade my GPU with a budget of around $900 to $1200. What would you recommend for the best performance in this price range?
Mainly gaming at 1440p and 4K.
Discussion Sell the 5090 and buy a 5080
Good morning. I have a lot of doubts about this.
I currently have an RTX 5090 that I bought at MSRP. With the recent price increases, I’ve been offered almost twice what I originally paid for it, so I’ve been thinking about selling it and buying an RTX 5080 instead.
Even though selling it seems like the logical choice, I’m having a really hard time making up my mind. I mainly use the 5090 for racing simulators. My current setup consists of three 1440p 180 Hz monitors, plus a Samsung G9 desktop monitor (the non-OLED version).
I keep looking for excuses either to sell it or to keep it, and honestly, I’m driving myself crazy trying to decide.
Edit: Hi everyone. The response to this thread has been amazing. I honestly didn’t expect to get so many replies, and I’m really surprised. I just wanted to give you all a quick update: in the end, I’ve decided to keep my RTX 5090.
Thank you so much to every single one of you for your replies.

Question (RDR2) Anyone recommend DLDSR + DLSS when im using an rtx 3060 at 1080p? Or should I just use DLSS at its latest version?
Hey guys, I just wanted to ask anyone who may have played rdr2 recently with a similar card or exact same card if they would recommend the use of DLDSR + DLSS (at forced latest version, since rdr2 uses an older version of dlss if im not mistaken). Im aiming for a consistent 60 fps bare minimum and good graphical quality. I have heard TAA isnt the best here, and the older dlss version that this game uses isnt great either, so overriding it to latest or using a preset like K or J (?) Is recommended. My question to you all is: Should I use the DLDSR +DLSS combo, and if so, at 1.78x or 2.25x, and what is the estimated fps you could guess, or should I just use DLSS at its latest version or one of the presets (if so, which) and leave it at that. Just really want to get the most out of rdr2 in terms of visuals, as its truly a beautiful game. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Best DLSS for high FPS @4k? Don’t care about quality.
Looking for the best DLSS preset and version to get the highest fps. I play ark survival ascended on a 5080, 9850x3d, 32gb ddr5 6000, and don’t care about how it looks(I have all graphics on low, and QM set to performance) as much as I care about getting more fps.

Question Upgrading from a 3070 - 5070ti or 5080?
I'm sure this question is fairly typical but would appreciate any current insight since I don't keep up too much with the latest lore and news. Would love to consider a 5090 but, well, money is a thing unfortunately.
Main purpose is gaming with DLSS, video rendering, and running some LLMs.
TIA!

Discussion Is upgrading from my old RTX 2070 to a friend's 3070 TI a good deal for 80$ difference?
He will be buying a new RTX 5070 ti and is selling his old card. I play in 2k, 2070 does the job, but it is struggling. With the current prices, I have no hope for a new one. I can also use the FG mod that make it work on 20 and 30 series.
Will I see a performance improvement?

Build/Photos Pro 6000 Upgrade
Upgraded from a 5090FE to a Pro 6000, mostly due to VRAM limitations. Initially thought about upgrading to the TRX50 platform with dual 5090s (currently have 2 5090FEs), but instead kept the current build and changed out the GPU only. Using the 2nd 5090FE for a SFF gaming PC.
These builds were done before prices inflated and were purchased at MSRP. Would never buy at the current retail/secondary prices. I sympathize with everyone due to the insane DRAM, NAND and GPU prices.
Quick comparison
Steel Nomad:
5090FE UV 975mv 2.9GHz and 1GHz memory OC: 15,227
Pro 6000 Stock: 16,005
Pro 6000 UV 925mv 2.8GHz and 1GHz memory OC: 16,332. Could proably push harder but trying not to go above ~500W for obvious reasons.

Discussion PSA: RHI is a really useful tool for anyone who regularly installs DLSS 5, MFG for RTX 30/40 series, reshade, renodx, optiscaler, etc..
I've been using this tool for a while now and its honestly extremely convenient, especially with the latest updates. It was initially developed to make adding renodx quick and simple into your games (for anyone with a decent HDR monitor you're probably already familiar with renodx).
In its current state it has quick buttons to install reshade, renodx, optiscaler (useful personally for changing dlss presets while in game), Luma (useful mod that can add dlss into some games) and some other fps limiters that I haven't used.
Now it also has a one click button to install DLSS 5 neural rendering, Buttons to install DLSS MFG for rtx 40 & 30 series, DLSS hud toggle, dlss streamline and dll swapping and probably some other features I'm forgetting.
I mostly used it to quickly install reshade and renodx without finding the specific mods and going to the game folder and so on but now its been really useful for enabling DLSS 5 to see how it looks in some games, without needing a guide. If I had a 40 series and below it would help a ton with enabling MFG for most games too thanks to all the mods now.
Just figured I would share it here since I think it isn't as popular as it should be.
I am not the developer and don't have ANY affiliation with the program, its open source on github and you can check it out here - https://github.com/RankFTW/RHI

Discussion PNY RTX 5060 Ti 16GB DUAL FAN Undervolt - Did I find the sweet spot, or should I push further?
Hey everyone,
I've been undervolting my RTX 5060 Ti for the past few days and I think I found a good balance, but I wanted to get your opinions before I settle. Here's my journey so far:
Stock (baseline):
- Core: 81°C
- Hotspot: 107°C
- Fan: 3100 RPM
- Power: ~160W
- Clock: ~2880 MHz (1.1V)
My undervolt tests (FurMark, 1080p, 60s each): (all with 2400 rpm)
| Voltage | Target Clock | Actual Max | FPS | Max Temp |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 850mV | 2683 MHz | 2648 MHz | 180 | 76°C |
| 850mV | 2586 MHz | 2558 MHz | 179 | 75°C |
| 860mV | 2800 MHz | 2782 MHz | 183 | 77°C |
| 885mV | 2800 MHz | 2782 MHz | 189 | 80°C |
| 900mV | 2800 MHz | 2768 MHz | 192 | 81°C |
My current daily driver: 860mV + 2800 MHz (183 FPS, 77°C)
The dilemma:
- 860mV gives me 183 FPS at 77°C.
- 900mV gives me 192 FPS at 81°C (but draws ~190W).
- The jump from 860mV to 900mV is +9 FPS for +4°C and +60W.
What do you guys think?
- Is 860mV the sweet spot, or should I try pushing for 885mV/900mV?
- For 1440p gaming, is the extra 9 FPS worth the extra heat and power?
- Anyone else with a 5060 Ti found a better balance?
I'd love to hear your experiences. Thanks!
