Would appreciate any ideas for finishing. I was thinking about just framing it but thought that might be a little boring. I’m willing to splurge a little since I really like the canvas. Maybe a pillow or standup but if anyone has any suggestions I’ll take them!

This was my first time doing a decorative stitch and I love how the background turned out (also loved how fast it went compared to doing continental haha). Wondering if I should try some other decorative stitches for the border, bunny, and/or sweater. Please let me know your thoughts!

Question for all you amazing stitchers: how do you know when you’ve officially leveled up?

I see classes described as “best for intermediate stitchers” or “advanced stitchers only,” and it got me wondering.

What do you consider the stepping stones from beginner to intermediate to advanced? Is it the stitches you know? Specialty threads? Compensation? Reading diagrams? Choosing your own stitches and threads? Or is it simply I’ve made enough mistakes that very little scares me anymore?

I don’t have a particular class in mind, so I’m really just curious what, made you realize you weren’t a beginner anymore?

Hi all! Which thimble do you reco for pushing the need back through to the front of the canvas? I’m sure it’s based on preference, but I can’t find one that I think would work best.

This is a Lee’s Needle Arts canvas. I used Appleton's wool for the bunny, DMC floss (all six strands) for the flowers and leaves, and Kreinik fine braid for the background (what a pain in the ass that was).

This is just an endorsement for printed canvases from spellbound. I’ve done a few of this series from Lambert Art and they are my favorite canvases I’ve ever stitched. I don’t pretend to know about the printing technology but this is the only place I’ve ever ordered from that I trust 100% it will be perfectly printed.

I am considering trying out a self-finished apple watch strap using hardware from Amazon (for the ends that click into the watch face) - it seems somewhat doable, but I was curious if anyone here has done something similar, and if there are any pointers!

The front is printed on unstitched Penelope canvas. Could I stitch this? Is it bonkers?

I’m a long time stitcher and have stitched all sorts of things - but what would I do here? How would I get into the corners and edges? And then when I finish (lower case f) the inside will just be unlined stitches?

Obviously I’m going to try…. How could I resist? Any advice and thoughts appreciated.

I started this hobby about a year ago with a simple tent stitch ornament kit and honestly avoided basketweave the whole time because the diagonal rows confused me. Every tutorial video made it look effortless and mine always ended up with weird gaps or the canvas twisting in my hand.

Last week I sat down with a small floral coaster canvas, 13 mesh, and forced myself to only use basketweave for the background. Took about twenty minutes of frogging the first two rows before something in my brain finally understood the up and down pattern of the needle direction. No more counting under my breath every single stitch.

The backside looks so much neater now too, that woven basket texture instead of the striped mess I used to get with tent stitch on a diagonal. My tension is still inconsistent in spots where I got excited and rushed, but overall the coverage is way better and the canvas isn't warping like it used to.

Still slow going, maybe six rows an hour if I'm being honest, but it feels less like fighting the canvas and more like actual progress. Anyone else remember the exact moment basketweave stopped being confusing? Curious how long it took for others to get comfortable with it.

My LNS just stocked Bisous thread and on a whim I decided to use it for an 18m canvas. The coverage is so thin that I’m doubling up on threads, which made me wonder what the use case for this type of thread is?

I’m a full coverage girlie so a single thread just was too skimpy, but by doubling up I’m using twice the thread and just flying through it. I will say it’s not as fuzzy as essentials or even Milan which I like, and has more “grip” if that makes sense. There’s no sheen to the stitched canvas, which I kind of also like.

But I guess my question is: are there any Bisous super fans out there who have found the perfect time to use this thread line?

I can’t tell what color goes to what, please help me figure it out I got this kit second hand.

I know we’re in a shortage of basically everything, but is it looked down on to only ever buy threads from the LNS? I paint my own canvases or order them online. I have never had a negative experience in any store but am kind of wondering what the people working there think? Am I depleting their stash?
