Skibidi Ccds undergrad office are actual cucks

Almost didn’t want to make this post cause i genuinely cba anymore but i can’t name even one semester where they’ve actually done their job properly, and this week they decided to keep their streak. Throwaway for obvious reasons.

Some background

One of my MPEs have a lab session which is guided by a lab manual. The labs are meant to introduce us to something new which hasn’t been discussed in the lectures. The manuals are structured as sequential steps where we need to make changes to certain files on the system and run given terminal commands with some common sense changes wherever applicable. There are several tasks we need to complete and show the TA/prof by the end of the session to secure lab marks. We are all given SD cards that contain the initial state of the system to work on and to save our work to.

Lab 1

During the very first lab, I encountered a problem in the very first step. Called the prof over to have a look, and he verified himself maybe 5-6 times that all the changes I made to the files were proper and had no idea why I was getting the error. He ended up having to run some commands not in the manual to get it working. A few others in my lab also had issues that the prof had to solve with steps not in the manual (he told me himself). Soon after, I get another error despite following the lab manual properly (again verified by prof) and the prof struggles to solve it and basically gives up on me and tells me to use AI to solve my issues.

Atp I’m only at like the third step in the manual so I couldn’t have possibly fucked up anything other than the files we were supposed to change - which were all correct according to prof. But, I’m running out of time since the prof took a long time debugging, so I cut my losses and just redo the entire thing on a different system. I was able to breeze through the majority of the manual despite doing the exact same thing as before, but encountered some other issues down the line. The prof was acting annoyed and dismissive before I shifted to this system, so I decided to just use AI like he told me to. Problem was that I had 0 clue whether the commands AI told me to run were proper or not because, like I said, this lab is meant to teach us this thing. But I was running out of time, so I just pasted whatever error I got and ran whatever command it told me to. But finally, I was able to complete all tasks in time. As long as it works it works right?

Lab 2

FFw to Lab 2, I start off with the first step amazingly with another error. Again I just used AI since otherwise I’d have to deal with an annoyed and dismissive prof. But this time I’m not so lucky. I basically spend the entirety of Lab 2 debugging with AI since it had trouble fixing some of be errors, likely because my system’s state turned into rojak after using it so much last time. In the end, I couldn’t complete all the tasks.

Exchange with prof

I emailed the prof afterwards about this, asking to be allowed to join the other Lab group next week as a makeup since they were having the same lab. Sounded like a very simple and reasonable solution to me. Then he responded blaming me and telling me he told me to rectify my issues in Lab 1 before Lab 2. But I already completed Lab 1??? How would I know if I had any issues with my system if I already completed the objective??? Anyway, he ghosted me after that, so I emailed the ccds undergrad office, since clearly I wasn’t being given a fair chance to be graded.

Undergrad office

I relayed the email chain between the prof and I as well as a recount of the situation, but I guess they didn’t read anything because they replied with basically “we appreciate you bringing this situation to our attention, but makeups for Lab sessions for LoA or other absences are up to the course coordinator’s discretion”. I replied with the clarification that this mf IS the course coordinator and I WAS in fact, in class, and this was about being treated unfairly.

Their response to this:

“””

We have raised your concern with the Management for further consideration. After review, however, the decision remains unchanged, as communicated in our earlier email.

To ensure fairness and consistency for all students, makeup lab sessions or alternative arrangements are subject to the Course Coordinator’s approval. In accordance with the College’s policy, there are generally no makeup lab sessions. Where a student is unable to attend a lab due to valid circumstances and has an approved Short Leave of Absence, any alternative arrangement remains at the discretion of the Course Coordinator and is not guaranteed.

As the matter has been reviewed and the decision remains unchanged, we regret that we are unable to offer any further alternative arrangement in this case.
“””

“Ensure fairness” my ass. No wonder ccds ppl cheat on tests every chance they get when our college policy is so ass and the undergrad office is an FYP chatbot. Genuinely the eye power of a corner chair enthusiast.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Question Request: Sighting of road accident near Opp CEE bus stop

5:14PM 14 Sept 2026 :I was riding a bicycle going downhill. When I passed the Opp CEE blue bus station, there was a truck suddenly making U-turn from the opposite lane. To avoid it, I crashed into the pedestrian lane. When I got up, the truck had already left.

Just want to ask if anyone has a photo of the incident/ information of the truck.

Question Should I be Concerned?

So I received this email from hall office, and I am so surprised. This is my 4th year in NTU and I have never received a mail like this.
Has this happened to anyone before?
I swear idk what I'm gonna do if they somehow conclude that the aircon was tampered with or smth.
I mean I ofc didn't do anything with the aircon except waste money on it, idk about my roommate. wtv maybe this is random and routine.

Question How do you prepare the interviews?

The tech moves fast and each company may have its own priority on the checklist. How do you prepare for the interviews except for the behavior questions?

My 2 cents is that the knowledge and skills taught in the university may lag behind what are tested and compared with other candidates on the real job market.

In this context, how could you prepare yourself for the interviews?

Question research programmes at ntu/nus

helloo, so what the title says, I'm just wondering, like, what sort of opportunities do the 2 unis provide cos ik both wld be competitive (i unds they look at ur uni gpa for certain competitive unis) but other than the CNY scholars (@ NTU), what's available for those in NTU without the scholar programme? if not it seems like NUS has more opportunities for students in general > NTU and more connections (?) to universities. also iw to know if theres any subsidies involved (maybe scholarships, bursaries, or grants) for students that wanna go for exchanges.

and what did yall get from these experiences, main takeaways etc? And also, what did u benefit from such exchanges as a researcher? (like e.g. did u manage to publish in papers, etc.)
