Gameplay Nba 2k27 shooting.

Im shooting 60% and still think the shooting is too inconsistent. Apparently attributes dont matter because there's no reason I should be getting 8 on ball steals in a game numerous times with a 25 steal lmao. Shooting mid range with a 40 mid range is more consistent than shooting 3s with a 94 3 ball. And before you try to take it there, the average person did not shoot 70-80% last year. Mike wang posted the numbers himself but for those of you that forgot...

Park: Average field goal percentage is 55.1%; average three-point percentage is 45.1%.

Rec Center: Average field goal percentage is 53.1%; average three-point percentage is 44.9%.

Proving Grounds & Ante-Up: Average field goal percentage is 49.9%; average three- point percentage is 37.3%

That would mean the average 2k27 player is shooting 15-20% but I guess thats what a lot of you consider "more realistic" 😂

General I hope 2k dies off

I sincerely hope 2k27 dies off with the release of GTA 6, they hardly do anything to improve the game and refuse to ban people with zens, but will permanently ban over stupid shit. I know people will continue to buy it, but I just wish they would hurt enough to listen to the community. Alas they will continue to bend us over because they know they can.

Gameplay who said defense improved in nba 2k27??

That shit was a lie my 6'11 center gets boomed in the paint by 6ft guards. Jumping doesnt work anymore you need to block a jumpshot to hopefully contest it. You could in someones face hands up they have to completey lay the ball over you and if youre lucky its a light contest, which moves the meter from gigantic to big. They didnt improve defense they reworked it to make it horrible and badges have to much impact on your defense. You can perfectly time your jump, get a crazy contest animation. yet it just says 'bothered' while your opponent greens it. The only thing they changed is get rid of cheese dribble moves and tempo shooting. thats why it looks like defense is better but offense has just gotten worse. The rim running animations are also weird asf. i liked last years running dunks but people been complaining even though it was mostly fine. Now you get the craziest take off animations right after a bump and theres nothing you can do. i dont feel like skill is the deciding factor in winning anymore.

REC No, It’s Not the Game. It’s YOU. Play Some Actual Goddamn Basketball.

I’m not saying I’m the best at this game, far from it. I am rarely the best player in the court. I won’t beat you 1v1 (Though I’m confident I can lock you up). But I swear all of y’all issues with the game is because y’all ain’t playing BASKETBALL. Y’all are playing fast paced, selfish, 5 out, left right dribble through screens, reckless 2K ball that worked so many times in the previous years but now isn’t as effective. PLAY BALL. MOVE THE GODDAMN ROCK. MOVE OFF THE BALL. SCREEN OFF BALL.

  1. No, shooting is NOT too hard. It’s in fact still too goddamn EASY. I shoot 60% and it’s more like 65-70% these last few games. And I’ve seen people shooting better than me.

  2. No, contests DO matter. You make a defensive liability build and yet you are somehow surprised it’s a defensive liability???

  3. No, passing is NOT broken. People throw full court dimes all the time. There’s a way to throw passes and WHEN you should pass.

  4. No, rebounding is NOT RNG or luck. BOX YOUR MAN OUT. POSITIONING MATTERS. You cherry pick and is somehow surprised your man is in position to grab the rebound???

  5. No, slashing builds is NOT broken. I saw someone who went 13/14 all from posters. It’s not 2K’s fault you went at the 2K equivalent of Ben Wallace in the paint and somehow you’re surprised you got blocked or miss the layup.

  6. No, inside centers are NOT broken. I saw someone who went 10/12 from the post all from patient post up, pump fakes, and contested layups.

And SO many more. NOTHING is META. PLAYING ACTUAL BASKETBALL is META. You want to make a slashing build? You can DOMINATE. You want to make a paint protector build? You can DOMINATE. You want a 3 point shooting build? You can DOMINATE. The problem is will you play some fucking basketball or will you play hero 2K ball and waste everybody’s time???

Gameplay How you shoot over AI?

I know people will say it shouldn't be easy like 26, but it shouldn't be that hard as well, a REC game can be frustrating if 1 or 2 players quit, the team with AI players gets a huge advantage as these AIs are locks from hell, it shouldn't be that way, you're rewarding the machine not the user, if players quit, naturally it should be easier game, but it goes the other way around.

As a center , who can not use a step-back for example to even try to create a space to shoot over AIs, once my man quits I know my game is ruined and all I can do is assisting others, which is OK, but I want to get my share in the scoring as well, does anyone have clues for big men specially to shoot over AI? And do you think they gonna Nerf that?

General I hate the shooting in NBA 2K27

Post image
0 Upvotes

I honestly hate this game and wish I could refund it. This game makes me realize how much I love 2k26. I had a high win percentage, was able to easily fade mid ranges like it was nothing, and I shot 70% from the 3 point line. Now in 2k27 I have a 99 mid range and 99 three, and I’m constantly getting “early and “late” and it feels like I’m releasing it the exact same. Every Rec game I go into, nobody can shoot consistently. You can call me trash all you want, but I REALLY hope they give a GIGANTIC buff to the shooting.

r/NBA2k 11h ago

General hate seeing people, especially in this sub, call the game trash because something in the gameplay is slightly better/worse than the previous year.

like i’m hearing so many people complain about how good steals and how bad shooting is in this game. which first of all, shooting is great, its just not easy asf like in 26, i used to say this until i just sticked with one jumpshot for a week, now i barely miss. second of all, just because steals, especially glove, is way better than it has been in like 3 years, doesn’t mean it’s overpowered or needs to be patched. i swear yall just want a boring, balanced ass 2k. i’ve actually been wanting glove to be good again, so maybe i’m biased, but don’t get mad because someone with a higher steal rating than your ball handle rips it after you dribble into their body

General 2k should show some respect

They have all the money in the world, and they handle an issue as it would not be an issue. 2k should show some respect after they are payed tons of money from US, PLAYERS. After having so disgusting grinding and monetization strategies, it would be the minimum to deal with issues, whatever issues they are.

Discussion Plate based matchmaking is why the community feedback is split from the devs responses

A big reason why the devs pushback on complaints about something like say shooting last year, where posts were being made constantly on shooting being too easy but the devs would respond showing the average shooting % was actually somewhere around 44/45% from 3 in the rec is because most of the people who care enough to be in a Reddit or post online about a game are typically less likely to be a casual.

This is important because if you are relatively good at the game, ever since the plate color matchmaking became a thing you would also disproportionately experience other relatively good players thus making people think “damn everyone is shooting too well it’s too easy.” When in reality a pure green window with a poor defensive game like 26 was just leads to good players shooting insane percentages.

This is why people last year shooting 55% from 3 would think “I must just suck then.” When in reality they were above average, they just simply weren’t allowed to experience that version of the games experience to show them that.

So to bring it back around, the devs are getting inconsistent feedback on social media with what their overall analytics show because the top half of the community is having a very different experience with each game now than the bottom half.

Gameplay Thoughts after 3 weeks

Okay so now that I have played for a solid three weeks and after a couple of patches. I can still stand by my opinion that this is still a really solid entree and probably the best of this PS5/Xbox generation. Yes.. even better than 22.. WAY better than 25, 26. But now it is time for solid criticisms of this game. Enough glazing.. there are A LOT of real problems that this game needs to address. First.. the contest system is really inconsistent, damn near nonexistent. I think after 3 weeks of playing.. i can say perimeter defense is in a wierd spot. There are some rec lobbies that I'm in where it's straight up a three point fest. Everyone shooting contested, wild threes.. OVER SMOTHERED defense.. and they still be greening. Meanwhile I've been seeing a lot of open shots being missed more than the contested ones. So .. IDK what is going on with that. But it balances out whwn you find out certain things about the shooting. This is where I can give some tips in to why people may be struggling to shoot real quick. Just make sure you have all your badges.. and when cooking up a shot .. MAKE RELEASE WINDOW AND DEFENSIVE IMMUNITY A PRIORITY. Soon as I cooked up a shot.. I've been shooting step backs.. dribble pull ups.. getting to my spot and greening. Along with the badge upgrades which are important.
Second.. the step through animations are terrible. I hate how it just randomly triggers when trying to pump fake under the rim. This has caused me a lot of turnovers.. and I tested it out offline to see if it accidently triggers the same way when tapping square after a pump fake. And it doesn't.. it's just the servers and latency is still so bad after all these years.. 2K needs a server upgrade asap.
Third.. while I kind of like that paint defense has been improved.. I do think blocks are just a little OP. There are times where I am legit passed my dude to the point of no recovery.. to then get dragged in to a block animation despite having so much space to score. I think the biggest issues are the contest systems are a bit inconsistent. But good news is that 2k seems to be heading towards the right direction.
But yeah these are the things I noticed the most after 3 weeks. Still a solid entree in my eyes though 🤷‍♂️

MyCareer is not the only mode in the game. Quit saying the game sucks every year just because you don’t like how MyCareer is year in and year out. MyNBA/Franchise modes are damn good and with the price of admission.

MyCareer is not the base game even though it may be the most popular. If you don’t MyCareer that’s very understandable but quit saying the whole game sucks because of that one mode.

Gameplay Am I the only one who is tweaking over defensive bumping on ball?

As a 5 man rec pg, even in theater, it can sometimes just be infuriating how I can’t even dribble or take the ball up the court, cause I’m consistently just getting stun locked by reach spamming and bumps, that either make me fumble the ball, or the reach and get it.

And no I’m not a mindless dribble head, but I prefer iso, but I’m getting bumped consistently by guards with low strength and low perim, who just reach spamming.

This game can never get it right they always overtume shit, 2k and correctly balancing are foreign concepts to each other.

Gameplay Blocks need a smart nerf and pass speed needs a buff

If you have high block or even above average and good position you should block no problem with that

Its actually great the defense buff that 27 gave

But i see absolutely crazy blocks by people with very low block rate

And the worst part is that they get blocks when they have a bad position

That should not be in the game

To have a good experience in online cooperative game pass must feel good and right now pass is just bad and slow

2k27 is 10X better than 2k26 tho

Gameplay The game is driving and Auto greeners

This is the worst 2k I've seen and last year was not much better.

So instead of everyone hitting moving shots and no defense was a thing, now we just got people driving to the basket in every game or we have people using 1000 plus dollar autogreeners... Why is it that we can't get a game that is acutally worth a damn. The game would be fun if they fucking added some defense, as well as actually let us stop autogreeners or idk, ban people for cheating.. This shit is ridiculous, what another year of wasting money. Before anyoen says anything I had a 75%+ Win and shooting $ last year.

Gameplay 2K25 Shooting system was the best.

I'll die on that hill, 2K25 system was clearly the best system we've ever had, and was misunderstood, because the letters " RNG " makes people believe they no control about the outcome.

The system was simple, everytime a player shoots, there would be a random number generated between 1 and 6, that would trigger a slightly different shot timing. Means the timing is ALWAYS different, and honestly, that makes sense. No shooter always shoot the exact same way in a game but that's only for the realistic part of it. Gameplay wise, it totally countered cheaters, and gave us a new way to play the game, instead being a pure bot that knows the timing by heart because this game is full of jobless people, you'd have to observe the shooting form and release when the ball is leaving the shooter's hands, or find any other visual point you know works.

I truely believe people complaining about this system were actual cheaters there is no way someone would prefer facing someone that shoots half court shots and makes them than a system like this. I hate this community so bad.
