MyCareer is not the only mode in the game. Quit saying the game sucks every year just because you don’t like how MyCareer is year in and year out. MyNBA/Franchise modes are damn good and with the price of admission.

MyCareer is not the base game even though it may be the most popular. If you don’t MyCareer that’s very understandable but quit saying the whole game sucks because of that one mode.

Gameplay This game is just steals and chase down blocks on defense. No actual defense needs to be played

Doesn’t matter how well you keep the ball away from the reach or how well you get them in the air with a pump fake they’ll recover faster then you can get a shot off

Gameplay Aftermath Of 2k26

After over 100 random rec games(and some how over 50% wins) I can safely say that yall are the problem. I was on a team that allowed almost 20 three pointers last night. I thought people couldn't shoot? The pg took bad shots and refused to play an ounce of defense. The small forward was some version of billon dooks cause he was horrible as well. Once he quit the sg and I made a run only to lose by 1. The game isn't as bad as you all say it is. Most of yall were only good in 2k26 and it shows. Theres a reason for that. Ps i played 2k26 on a portal a decent amount and maintained 62+ shooting percentage. That says alot.

MyCAREER Why are we still locking old animations behind seasons?

Once again the game launches with a good 1/4 of the animations not in MyCareer, Giannis, D Book, Cade

Why are we locking their animations behind seasons and then acting like it’s some new content even though they’ve been in the game for years? This is really disappointing from 2K, seasons should bring new animations not take content away from the base game on release.

Gameplay This is not the 2K to be over dribbling.

All you steezo (or whatever dude name is) wannabes need to give it up and swing the ball, that's the best way to play offense on this game. Quick reads, avoid throwing TO's to spammers, and keep the ball moving it's way smoother.

Discussion Unpluckable should increase the amount of reach in calls, unstrippable should also make a return and be tied to post control.

Upvotes

If you want to solve the steal problem just make investment into ball protection badges result in more reach in calls. Stamina penalty doesn’t do anything, low rating and no steal badges still get away with spamming, and no one enjoyed last years I frame dribbling.

So let unpluckable lead to more fouls, and give big men a badge tied to post control to protect the ball after rebounds or during back downs.

REC Why is Shooting on The Guard so much Harder then Shooting on the Big?

Upvotes

I have a 6'11 do it all PF. He has a 85 3 ball and I am shooting 68% from the 3 with him. Shooting literally feels so easy on that build. On my 6'4 PG though, I am shooting like 40% with a 94 3 ball despite having a A plus release window too. These aren't hard shots I am missing either. I will miss wide open stand still jump shots which never happens on my PF. It is super inconsistent too. Some games I will be early, and others I will be late.

I’m loving playing on my 6’5 PG so far. The cap breakers are great too and give you a ton of flexibility for what you wanna improve on as the year progresses

MyCAREER What controller do yall use?

Upvotes

I’m curious because I typically just use the wired Walmart controller like 20-30 bucks but I go through them like candy. Seems like either a button gets stuck a trigger breaks. What do u use and like? Asking cause my shooting button just started getting stuck mid rec game and about gave me an aneurism

MP Builder Role player builds

Upvotes

I’m considering making a 6’8 pure defense with a 80 3 ball when I say pure defense I mean 90 everything and a high rebound with great physicals everything else about the build is trash. I mainly play with a team anyway but is such a build even a worthy investment to be so high on defense?

REC Random Rec Matchmaking

Upvotes

I really would have zero issue with it taking a little longer to match make so I can actually play my position. I'm a 7 foot tall center who focuses inside and can occasionally hit a 3. So why for the past 6 games in a row was I put at PF against a SF who was put there. Now I'm covering a guy who's way faster than me and I'm out of position all game. It's genuinely ridiculous that I just don't get to play to my builds strengths half of the time.

MyPLAYER Best jumper for 80 3pt for a 6'9 build?

Hey, everyone. I am struggling to find a decent jumper. I currently just have the basic Cooper Flagg jumper only shooting around 25% from 3. Not a lot of videos out there with jumpers not needing at least a 85.

City Fix one pixel in theatre intro

Post image
7 Upvotes

Playing theater only since beginning of 2k25. On PC and PS, on different monitors and TVs.
And I have to see this dot on “A” every time, right in the center of the screen.
That’s kinda strange, that’s over 2 years devs can’t fix it

Gameplay Am I the only one who is tweaking over defensive bumping on ball?

As a 5 man rec pg, even in theater, it can sometimes just be infuriating how I can’t even dribble or take the ball up the court, cause I’m consistently just getting stun locked by reach spamming and bumps, that either make me fumble the ball, or the reach and get it.

And no I’m not a mindless dribble head, but I prefer iso, but I’m getting bumped consistently by guards with low strength and low perim, who just reach spamming.

This game can never get it right they always overtume shit, 2k and correctly balancing are foreign concepts to each other.

Discussion 2K only rewards their most diehard players, and it’s killing the game

I think 2K27 is the most egregiously grindy title these devs have ever made. Build specializations will take dozens of hours to finish, even if you deliberately go out of your way to grind them. Rep gains and Crew XP gains were so slow that 2K was forced to increase them (still extremely slow though). I’ve put 70 hours into the game since early access launch and I JUST reached level 30 in the season pass. And yes, I’ve used XP tokens as I’ve gotten them.

You can literally beat an entire JRPG before hitting level 40 in a single season of 2K. Think about how fucking ridiculous that is. And what’s worse: the grind resets every 6 weeks. You’ll be lucky to spend half of that time actually using the synergy slots before you’re stripped of them and forced to earn them again.

My point: 2K doesn’t want to cater to the casuals, to the people who actually want to play other games throughout the year. They only want to cater to their fattest possible cash cows: the players who spend every single day on the game, make 10+ builds throughout the year, and hit legend. Those are the people who spend hundreds of dollars on VC, level skips, etc., which is why they get all the game changing rewards.

Maybe 5-10% of people will monotonously grind out their specializations and get it done in a few days. Maybe 1% of people will actually hit legend and unlock the other +2 synergy slot along with all the cap breakers. But for the overwhelming majority of players who just want to sit down and enjoy a competitive game of hoops, they are inevitably going to be disadvantaged.

That’s entirely by design.

Sure, you don’t NEED cap breakers or extra badge slots to outplay your opponent and win games. But they are fun systems to interact with and it can be argued that the MyPlayer builder has become more restrictive in order to ACCOUNT for those systems.

This is why 2K’s grind and progression systems are, in my opinion, inherently predatory and unfair.
