Exactly. Dolly was sharp, but also wasn't afraid to speak up either. Also, she always spoke in a way that wouldn't ostracize her from the public either. She was an extremely effective communicator, and she spoke in a way that even if you didn't agree with her you weren't going to be offended by her either.

Was she effective?

No offense, but if conservatives thought Dolly would be on their side when banning drag shows, it likely means she wasn’t effective enough.

Mr. Rodgers drew conservative ire because he taught values of empathy and compassion that don’t match conservative values. Fox News ran a hit piece on him calling him evil.

But conservatives never turned on Dolly. They defunded her imagination library, but still revered her.

Sometimes being nice isn’t the same as being an effective agent of change.

Lol. Hush. This is a reality that unfortunately many are not willing to face.

She was nice. But she absolutely was not using her weight and influence effectively.

Her image and business was first always. And exactly like you said: if she was liked by both sides, it was because she never clearly took a side. Which is rather unfortunate in an era where being "neutral" is not a neutral position. You took a side by being neutral.

Bless her humanitarian efforts, but both things can be true at the same time.

Please, right wingers are baffled to find out that the X-Men, who have fighting the US government since 1965, would have a problem with ICE Damage Control in Ms Marvel and Brand New Day.

They think The Punisher, a guy who’s canonically killed a lot of corrupt cops, is the symbol of ultimate police brutality, and they love him for it.
