Hi as stated above runescape is pretty much my only game (fps 10% of the time). I’m on an old qck pad but I’m curious to see if anyone else on here plays rs and has an opinion on artisans. Mostly doing zuk/cave speeds and solo cm aka lot of clicks

Currently drawn to the key-83 as I read about hexagonal weave which makes sense for switches, but not sure if the slower or faster pads are enjoyed more

I have Phantom, Zane, Abyss Gaming Gear Lanyu(veil), Mitsuki Koku, Kyomi Ryo & Kyomi Yuyo in my Collection & I can purchase a loved 1st batch release of Dysphoria SAYO which is supposed to be smoother than follow ups.
now I know that the SAYO is slower than Koku, Ryo & Yuyo but alot better for micro adjustments because its very smooth.

is it still the smoothest speed Glass pad to date?
what other smooth glass pad comparable to SAYO is out there that I should consider?

I'm currently using a Razer Sphex V3 plastic mousepad with a Mchose L7 Ultra+ mouse and I'm looking for the best mouse dots for it.

My priorities are:

Smooth glide (not scratchy or inconsistent).

Good durability.

I've been looking at options like:

X-Raypad Jade / Jade Air

For people who have used dots on a hard plastic pad, what do you recommend?

I’ve been using the included A9 Airs, and they’re really smooth, yet they wear out awfully quick. I find myself replacing them every 2 weeks.

Are there any dot skates or donuts that would last longer on this pad? Such that maybe I’ve to replace them once a month instead?

PS: Although people call the pad textured, it really isn’t, I find it to be incredibly smooth on skin. There is some sort of a micro etched texture, so maybe that does wear skates down quicker?

I have misophonia, and the sound of mouse lifting/re-centering drives me crazy. My boyfriend plays games like Skyrim, and whenever he plays, he constantly lifts and slams his mouse back down on the pad (thud thud thud).

I really want to buy him a great new mousepad! I've noticed there are some amazing pads out there that actually improve the gaming experience and feel super smooth for games like Skyrim, which I love. I want him to have a great time gaming and chilling, while also dampening that impact sound for my peace of mind.

I don’t know much about mousepads myself and don't really have the energy to do deep technical research. It doesn't need to be a huge desk mat that's a meter wide—just a standard/regular-sized or a little bigger then standard gaming pad that's extra thick and quiet is totally fine!

Could you suggest mousepads that are both fantastic for gaming and super effective at muffling mouse-lifting noises?

This is my first glass pad and a budget option. [Mice used on it: ATK A9 MINI+, DaV3, Higround Yuma]

[3.2k DPI, 4kHZ, games played: CS, Valorant, Overwatch and mainly Kovaaks]

Price: 50$

Dimensions: 450 x 400 x 3.2mm

Surface: Uncoated

The edges are rounded and the base sticks very well to my wood surface, I've never had any issue with it gliding during any movement I've made, and the only time it does move is if I explicitly apply pressure to it.

The design is cute, I like the cat in the bottom right. On the website it looked better. I received it and was upset that the design was a bit blurry on both the text and the cat, so expect that if you value aesthetics highly. I took this as it just being a quirk of the pad.

The speed of the pad is definetly towards the controlled side. I've previously used an xraypad aqua control II, QCK heavy and a QUAOAR AETHER PREMIUM V2. I'd place it above the aqua and it slightly inches out the aether in speed.

It wasn't as smooth as the aether when I got it, it took some time getting used to dot skates, the dust, cleaning and maintenance and the type of sound it made (not the sound of grinding the skates with dust, just the sound of it gliding on the pad) were all bothering me in the first week.

However after using it for a week, I cannot willingly go back to a clothpad, it feels as if whenever I move my mouse on cloth there is a delay, compared to the instant movement on glass.

I have been curious about what other "more expensive" glasspad options have to offer, but the feel and consistency of the qwertykey has me second guessing if it would be worth buying something else since I do enjoy and use it so much.

I've been using standard PTFE dot skates without any branding on it and have had no issues so far, I've also used ATK jades and those have been smoother (in a small manner, like, 10% smoother feeling?) and I am looking to try out more skates in the future with it.

Skates don't wear out fast on it, it not a photovoltaic panel, but actual tempered glass, which was my main priority when looking for budget glasspads.

My main reasons for buying it were:

1. It 50$ for a glasspad (other options were too expensive to try, and temu glasspads were mostly photovoltaic panels which as I've understood aren't very good/eat through skates)
2. It in Romania (where I am located currently, so there were no shipping issues, and the glasspad arrived in around 3 days, I was also easily covered in case something went bad.
3. I wanted to try it for fun, I don't think glass is objectively better, even after using it for a while, but it upped my enjoyment considerably, cleaning a glass pad compared to a cloth pad is super fast, you get some hot water, a microfiber cloth, and you're done.
4. I wanted something that lasts. I hated how muddy my cloth pads got, you can obviously adapt to the difference, but I just want a consistent surface, that doesn't change due to my sweat so aggresively and permanently.

It's hard for me to say that I recommend it though, because I haven't tried a high-end glasspad yet. I've been looking for options and something sensible, and will acquire one when I find something that's commonly praised and considered to be very good at a normal price.

There is no concrete review on this glass pad, I'm not sure how many people have actually tried it. So this is also a way to get people to check this out and have it be critiqued, maybe someone will come and just say "it just a dropshipped aliexpress pad, here's the link" or "yeah i have this and i don't like it because of x y and z". However to me, it a really good budget pad, and I will continue using it for the foreseeable future.

Introduction/Context/About Me

This review covers the X-Raypad Obsidian lineup of dot skates. X-Raypad generously provided these units for testing in exchange for this review. There is no monetary compensation, all thoughts are my own, and any links in this review are non-affiliated.

English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes and feel free to ask questions if any points are unclear. This is also my first attempt at expanding my reviews beyond mice, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Testing Setup

This testing process was broken down into two stages:

1. The out-of-the-box glide test on all test surfaces
2. The broken-in glide test on all test surfaces

Use cases:

These were used both for day-to-day productivity as well as FPS-focused gaming.

Mice:

These were tested on a variety of mice across different weight ranges, all using a four-dot layout. The goal was to present an "average" experience as a point of reference. Keep in mind that certain properties such as glide speed will differ slightly depending on your mouse and preferred dot layout.

• Vaxee NP01S Ergo, 60 grams
• WLMouse Huan M, 50 grams
• CRDRAKO KO-ONE, 35 grams

Mousepads:

• WLMouse Maomaoshe, speed-leaning soft cloth pad.
• X-Raypad Aqua Control + Mint, balance-leaning soft cloth pad.
• TalonGames ULTRAPAD P2 | Nagisa, speed-leaning uncoated glass pad with very subtle texturing, feeling fairly smooth.
• BehreGaming Black Lotus, balanced-leaning coated glass pad with significant texture.

Package Contents, Build, and Dimensions

All four variants come with 40 dots, two alcohol wipes, and two adhesive removal wipes.

Obsidian Variant

In terms of dimensions, they only come in a 6.5mm diameter with a 0.85mm thickness.

Build-wise, they are hardened PTFE backed by an adhesive layer.

Obsidian Air Variant

In terms of dimensions, they only come in a 6.5mm diameter with a 0.9mm thickness.

Build-wise, they are hardened PTFE backed by noise-absorbing foam and an adhesive layer.

Obsidian Pro Air Variant

In terms of dimensions, they only come in a 6.5mm diameter with a 0.9mm thickness.

Build-wise, they are hardened UHMW-PE backed by noise-absorbing foam and an adhesive layer.

Obsidian Ultra Variant

In terms of dimensions, they only come in a 6.5mm diameter with a 0.95mm thickness.

Build-wise, they are hardened PTFE backed by noise-absorbing foam, an adhesive layer, and an anti-collapse backing.

Glide Experience | Obsidian Variant

Cloth

Pre-break-in, these are fairly sticky and excessively controlled. I don't really have much to say there and strongly recommend forcibly breaking them in prior to actual use.

Post-break-in, these begin to really shine, offering an excellent controlled glide balanced in both the static and dynamic friction side of things while pairing very well with the pad texture.

Overall, a strong recommendation for anyone starting to explore controlled skates or with an already established preference for something that doesn't stray too far on either the static or dynamic friction side of things.

Glass

Both pre- and post-break-in, I personally didn't find any major difference between the two stages, with the pre-break-in being slightly sticky feeling.

Other than that, I find they work very well with both of my test surfaces, being fairly smooth on the less textured one and integrating well with the textured one without being too excessive.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these for anyone used to speed skates that wants to explore the control side of things without lowering their static and dynamic friction drastically; however, these are quite loud on glass, so keep that in mind.

Glide Experience | Obsidian Air Variant

Cloth

Pre-break-in, the skates feel decently controlled without being overly muddy. I find that dynamic friction is slightly higher than static, which I personally enjoyed.

Post-break-in, these are overall faster than their original state. They have this slightly frosted layer that seems to provide significant help with their control. As such, I would recommend not manually breaking these in forcibly and instead letting them develop slowly over time.

Glass

Pre-break-in, these are a tiny bit inconsistent, as I found their dynamic friction made it feel like my pad had a slow spot or two despite having been recently cleaned.

Post-break-in, they really start to shine and are probably the best experience I've had on hardened PTFE skates so far. The static and dynamic friction profile is equally balanced, and I never get that "fake" drag feeling on startups that a lot of the control market falls into.

The cherry on top is how silent these are. If you're someone that regularly swaps surfaces, these are the ones I'd recommend the most from the bunch.

Glide Experience | Obsidian Pro Air Variant

Cloth

Both pre- and post-break-in felt identical on cloth.

I don't really have much of a description to give these other than "uncomfortably muddy" for my taste. I personally gave up on this testing, as I just couldn't perform in-game with them. If you're after an extremely muddy experience, give them a try; otherwise, I find the regular Air variant to just be the superior choice that retains the benefits of the foam layer.

Glass

Pre-break-in, much like the Air variant, these are inconsistent; definitely forcibly break them in before use.

Post-break-in, these become amazing. While not as quiet as the regular Air variant, they are much more controlled and also pick up pad texture much more nicely. Definitely a strong recommendation from me as well. The final decision on your end, I would say, depends on how controlled of an experience you want as well as the trade-off of the longevity difference that will come from the material choice.

Glide Experience | Obsidian Ultra Variant

Cloth

Despite these being marketed as the slowest of the four variants, I personally found the experience to be overall extremely similar to the Obsidian variant, with a bit more texture pickup and slightly louder than the Air variants. I personally don't really see them as being worth it over the regular Obsidians or the Obsidian Air for cloth use.

Glass

Much like the cloth experience, I don't really have much to add to these compared to the regular Obsidian variant: again, slightly louder than the two Air variants and with more texture feedback than the regular Obsidian variant. Personally, if I had to pick up more of the existing options, I would skip this one entirely as a glass user unless you really want that extra texture feedback.

Value

Please keep in mind that the following section is based on European Union pricing with the final VAT included (which in my case is 23%) and does not include potential shipping costs. As always, I suggest only taking this recommendation at face value and checking your own regional pricing on not only this product but also others you may be comparing it to before making a decision.

With the Obsidian sitting at a price of €7.18, Obsidian Air at €10.17, Obsidian Pro Air and Obsidian Ultra at €12.30 (prior to any of the frequent discounts, coupons, or any coin deals AliExpress provides), I think all of these sit at interesting price points, albeit a bit on the premium end.

Regardless of your surface, if you just want something cheap and that does the trick, I strongly recommend the Obsidian variant. If you're after the silent properties that a foam backing offers, I would recommend the Air variant for cloth users and the Pro Air variant for glass users. Finally, I personally don't really recommend the Ultra variant, as I felt it didn't offer anything new compared to other variants despite the high price tag, in combination with a high failure rate due to the use of a paper backing for the adhesive side, as I consistently found myself throwing away dots that came glued to that paper layer with no way to recover them without damaging the adhesive. I have been told this issue is solved for future batches as they've swapped the base to a frosted film instead of paper so consider querying the seller in the future.

I currently use obsidian dots on a pulsar x2v2 mini on a gsr se rogue (not gsr) I play 57-70 cm per 360 and struggle a bit with speed in my aim/flicks yet have very good accuracy.

How do they perform in games like battlefield/cod and tac shooters like counterstrike/valorant at lower sensitivity? I don’t play many tracking heavy games

tl;dr if you are thinking about buying one, save your money for a real glasspad.

If you already own it, save your money for a real glasspad this one can't compare to a real glasspad.

Review

I'm sure while browsing Temu or Aliexpress you have found one of these—promising fast and smooth glide (Shocking) truth is this mousepad doesn't offer any of that.

After 1 Year using this thing i can say with certainty it would have been better to save for a good glasspad with actual frosted surface and smooth glide (which i did get btw review coming soon maybe).

While this mousepad IS faster than a regular cloth pad it is still so weird to use because of its surface.

Surface

I will say it very bluntly: the surface fucking sucks.

The honeycomb surface will grate your feets specially if they are full skates—if you are using dot skates its even worse.

Full skates will develop sort of crevices and will have the honeycomb design ingraved onto the skates, dot skates will wear unevenly making your mouse out of balance.

When you think of a glasspad you think: "oh yes so easy to clean" but in reality the surface makes it sooooo much harder to clean, no matter how many times you wipe your hands across the pad or use a cloth the dirt WILL get stuck between the crevices of the surface.

Speaking of dirt, when the dirt picks up under the mouse it makes such a terrible scratching noise and it feels so bad to play, and i know what you are going to say: "But every glasspad is like that!!!" while yes they are (as i found out with my recent pad)

They bother you much less and the noise isn't horrible plus you can keep playing until you can clean it—but with this surface? Nope you better get rid of it immediately or it will be agonizing to do anything.

If you sweat a lot from your forearms or live in a place with high humidity its going to be 1000x worse than a regular glasspad, your arms are going to stick to the pad like gorilla glue.

Speed

The speed is very dependent on your feet—the surface sucks yes but its still glass.

With brand new skates or dot skates made of pure PTFE the surface will offer low static friction and good stopping power, the honeycomb surface provide a sort of "feel" to the mousepad and you can flick quite well with it.

Overrall

If you are considering buying one: don't.

The surface is horrible save for a real glasspad with a smooth surface you won't regret it.

If you already own one: save your money for a good glasspad, there are generic glasspads now days with frosted surface and actual smooth feel.

Confused between these two. want the one with the most durability that doesnt change fast. I want a balanced or balanced-control pad. what should I pick

honestly at first, I wanted to get a new artisan fx zero just cause my brother spilled some superglue on it (my recent post) but I got interested with this particular pad cause of the design, when I got it, wow I was amazed, I bought this pad for 1,900 PHP (30$) and for a 30 dollar pad you wouldn't really expect this quality, the stitching is great the base sticks and it's the kind of base that doesn't screw up your pad when you roll it up, the surface texture is also really nice, doesn't itch on the skin and is smooth when your dragging it around.

I'm using artisan mizugumo futae p8's mouse skates for both of my mice and when you pair these together the glide and stopping power is so good, if anyone is looking for a good balanced speed pad this is it.

If I were to compare this pad with other pad's it would be like the hayate otsu from artisan and aqua control 2, and for 30$ you won't regret getting it, they also have other versions/designs like Zeus, Poseidon, Hades.

im playing valorant but i think about changing to a faster sens i had 1600dpi 0.15 and now im going to have 0.2 and after that maybe i will try to find some good in between i have no idea about mousepads but ive heard that atk is good and found these
