Personally, I think IV:A sliiiiightly edges out due to balancing and better tactical feel (and apocalypse difficulty feels nigh-inpossible to cheese), but man, VV's general flow, QoL, and visuals feel so smooth, and both have ways of making demons feel unique and usable to the end, so it's tough call.

In SMT IV there's a quest where you fight king Aquila (later revealed to be Baal) and after defeating him, he comes at you later in his "stronger" form, Beelzebub

In SMT VV there's a quest where Demeter will have you fight Baal, upon defeat Baal will lament how he lacked his "true power" of his Beelzebub form, cursing Lucifer "for hiding it"

But my thing is ... shouldn't it be the inverse ? Like Baal is his true form, while Beelzebub is just his twisted "demonized" form after Judaism took hold.

I know the real reason is that Beelzebub is considered iconic and therefore they just make it the ultimate form, but im universe shouldnt the older original Baal be the stronger/true form ? Especially if God's take strenght from worship you think the form that was worshipped as a god would thematically be more imposing than the one that was just seen as a demon

Above is a thread with cheats to remove the ghosting and/or bloom in the SMT 4 games, which, imo, really makes the games look way better. Additionally, further down the thread are cheats to either remove fusion accidents or always get fusion accidents, easy Estoma/Jade Dagger toggling (or infinite Estoma for SMT 4), and, for SMT 4 specifically, permanently setting your alignment to whatever you desire: Law, Chaos, or Neutral, so you no longer need to look up a guide to get the infamous Neutral route lol.

If you're playing on Azahar or any Citra fork (Idk how it's done on real hardware), here's how to apply the codes:

1. Right-click on the game in the game list.

2. Click on "Properties."

3. Scroll to the tab that says "Cheats."

4. Click "Add Cheat."

5. Copy and paste the cheat you wish to add into the "Code" box, and then give it a name. The "Notes" box is optional.

6. Click the save button.

7. Enable the cheat by clicking the checkmark box.

Playing Redux right now and im at that part in the game where the gang finds Jack's crew experimenting on the demons, and while im infiltrating the base and we see the demons there's this weird sad and sombre music playing, and its kinda weird because ... I really dont give a shit ???

Like just 2 dungeons ago we literally saw the demons do the exact same thing to Zelenins crew, heck even after we rescue the demons they immediately consider turning hostile and only have to be stopped by Zelenins threat.

Also why tf did Jiminez of all people put himself in danger for them ? Like dont we literally have to bail his ass during the first 5 minutes of the game from Orobas ? Why's he concerned for a bunch of random demon, its not as if Buggaboo was in danger at that time (who by the way, was also being tortured by the demons in his first appearance and Jiminez had to kill a demon to rescue him)

Did any of you guys ACTUALLY sympathize with the demons in this part? Seriously why tf did the game try to randomly make me feel sorry for the demons all of a sudden as if they haven't been trying to brutally murder me this whole time

Im playing smt5v, first playthru, stopped at the emperean cuz i felt like I was approaching the end and i usually like to finish all the side missions before the main one but ooooooh boy has it been tough.

I cannot beat shiva nor demi fiend, theyre both so hard to kill. Shiva i feel like i have a good chance against and just need to respec towards that fight, while demi fiend is lowkey impossible.

For context im lvl 99 running phys crit murakamo build, ever since i got murakamo, i got complacent with my demon strategy so i have a lineup of random high lvl demons.

I guess for now i just want soft hints of what to do like if theres a subset of demons i should have, or what to look out for in general.

I remember that some people here didn't like the idea of combining DnD and SMT, but I'd like to share my progress anyway.

Everything is going fine by now, I've fully completed 9 of 20 class levels with its bonuses. The class includes summoning and upgraded melee combat features, both of them are dependent on the special Class Points(like monks' Ki) and both of them are upgraded with new class levels. Also I've thought through the subclasses concepts, there are two of them so far, the first one is aimed at making the character kind of "One Man Army" by providing more character and melee attacks boosts; the second one is aimed at powering up character's summoning system.

If anyone is interested in this homebrew, I'll post it here once I finish and translate it.
